Developers understand the needs and quirks of the co sec role and having a new feature you didn't even realise you needed is remarkable when the come along! Pros I've used this software for about 8 years, not only finding new add ons and services almost pre-empting my needs, but the information, webinars, networking etc have helped immensely. Excellent support during Covid Cons Not a lat to say, it's miles ahead of any other software I've used. Niggly thing is you end up with a lot of open windows as it starts new taste in a new window. Distribution of papers to the Board is an efficient and seamless process. Pros Integration and transition to Diligent Boards was seamless. The product is easy to use and one of the key advantages is the amount of time it saves, collating and distributing board papers. Papers can easily be replaced and late papers added. The Agenda builder is excellent. Being able to export the papers is a great feature. Cons Unfortunately it is an expensive tool. Review Source IS Irene S. We have converted 8 Boards to Diligent with a seemless transition. Training is excellent and new products are always offered and existing features are updated. Diligent listens to end users for suggestions and better solutions and incorporates what they can. Pros Easy to load documents, user friendly for all Boards, great storage for secure historical meeting material and governance documents. Cons Cannot load short videos for viewing at Board Meetings. Great tool. Pros Ease of use. Sharing capability. Features Cons Sometimes files are too large to upload. Have been able to compress, but concern is presentations continue to get larger. November 9, 2020 5.0 Overall, Diligent is a great product compared to how I used to do Board reports before. It was more archaic how I used to do Board reports so Diligent has definitely changed how I do the reports and has greatly improved how easy it is to do Board reports. Pros What I like most is the agenda for each book being created by the software. Plus page numbering is automatic. Cons There can be some improvements on certain Excel sheets that do not transfer over correctly to Diligent. For example, if the Excel sheet shows one page, it then converts to two pages in Diligent. Currently I convert some Excel sheets to PDF as a workaround. Also redlined Word documents do not convert exactly over to Diligent. Tracked changes sometimes change to a different color or bubbles that show formatting changes are shown on right-hand side of Word document when the original does not show this. The directors instantly adapted to moving from paper materials to electronic and it has been a time saver for our administrators who compile and deploy the board and committee materials. Diligent's 24/7 customer service is one of their biggest strengths and offerings. Cons The price increases year over year are difficult to digest. It doesn't get any better than that. Pros This solution is perfect. It makes management look good and it is so easy for board members to use. We've been using Diligent Boards for 11 years now, and the directors love it. I have board members from 44 to 79, and they all find it intuitive and easy to navigate. It is a great way to be consistent in communication of material. The archived materials are both a great record of activity over the years and allows for smooth succession of board members as well as the addition of new people. The books give a common thread for the effective work of a Board of Directors. Pros Diligent Boards keeps information organized and is easy to navigate and use. It's an essential platform to use for full Boards and for Committee work. Cons The only item I'd suggest is being able to open multiple books at once. For instance, the full board book and a committee book. You may need to reference items from committees for full board meetings and currently you can have only one book open at a time. Our board material was getting upwards of 600 double sided pages that was being printed, sorted and mailed. Now with just a few drags of files and some clicks, it's amazing how fast and easy it all comes together. And it looks so professional. Pros This product is great to share documents among other users, it keeps the information confidential. The voting/signature pages are the best they allow all the signatures on one page instead of having one page per signature and then having to keep all the pages together. Board members can post public notes before the meeting so they see others have the same thoughts and this saves time during the actual board meeting time. Cons The use of this software is a little difficult to learn and begin to feel comfortable using. But, their customer service team is awesome and they are only a phone call away. Users seem happy with how the system is used and their accessibility. It is simple to upload documents, create pdfs etc. We can rely on our client support as and when needed. Cons I use the software on a PC and most of our users use the software on an iPad. My only criticism would be that i do have concerns of how documents we upload on a PC may appear visually on the users iPads. Reason for choosing Diligent Boards Diligent was the most user friendly.
