Simple yet packed with many advanced features and functionality that can achieve a multitude of different goals. From small fundraising projects to large ambassador based crowdfunding, Charitable is sure to have you cover from end-to-end from our experience. Their support is also outstanding, they are always on hand to assist and give expert advice where needed. Pros A big feature that made our journey seamlessly simple when using Charitable, was the integrated functionality of a peer-to-peer fundraising and crowdfunding solution that allowed us to effectively and efficiently onboard new ambassadors to help assist with furthering our fundraising efforts. In addition, we also appreciated the fee relief mechanism that allows you to give donors an option to cover the processing fees involved. Their Paypal, Payfast and Stripe integrations work very well and thus provide a good user experience . Cons Compared to the competitors, it is very difficult to find any floors within the Charitable plugin offering. With slight customizations, nearly anything can be achieved. I installed and checked some WordPress plugins, and was not very happy. Charitable was a more expensive Plugin compare to others, but I give it a try - and I realized everything I am looking for. An average Fundraising with five little brought $200-$300, the first fundraising with the Charitable Plugin generates donations over $1,700. That is a clear sign of how a well-integrated Donation in the own Website and easy-to-use for the User help to raise money. Pros It give multiple ways to integrate it in a WordPress Page so that it is flexible with a wide range of WordPress Themes. Even the Out-of-the-Box Setups are already very good. Most importantly, any issue or question - even when it is a little beyond classic Plugin Support, I received fast and qualified answers. Cons Every Software can be better, for us Integration in Poli (Payment) or Xero (Bookingkeeping) would be nice to have, but it is very specific. Reasons for choosing Charitable First, because of the Functionality and what I was able to accomplish through a trial in a very short time. We tried the whole PayPal Donation route for awhile, as well as customizing a form to work with Authorize.NET; however... PayPal is a bit too simple, and the customized form (Original website was in Classic ASP) was tedious to maintain. We switched to WordPress, and after a trying a couple of other templates, we found DIVI... and then found Charitable as the Donation Plugin that has all the options we wanted, and more. We purchased the Charitable Pro Plan, which includes the base Charitable product (PayPal and single donations), and ADDS ON additional Payment Gateways (Authorize.NET and Stripe), as well as Recurring Donations and e-Checks! It also has newsletter signup forms. Recurring Donations can be set to: - Simple (Allowing for preconfigured Monthly, Quarterly, Semiannually, and Yearly recurrences) - Variable (Same as Simple, but gives donor the option to choose recurrence intervals) - Advanced (Same as Simple, but can configure Suggested Recurring Donation Amounts) Charitable also makes adding Campaigns a breeze! The displayed progress information is also great, OR... you don't have to display progress info at all. Having a premium Donation plugin, such as Charitable, is also very beneficial, as they keep it updated so quickly, with each iteration of WP. Additionally, Customer Support is super responsive, and they even go the extra two or three miles to assist you, if possible. Get it! You will be thankful! Pros Easy to use. Straight to the point. Flexible Payment Gateway implementation. Option for newsletter signups. Progress Status Information for configured Goals. Customer Support from \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] was always very responsive, and right on the money. Cons About the only real Con I have would be related to reCaptcha. Currently, you have to download a script to implement this. Additionally, if using DIVI (Which we are), DIVI suppresses the reCaptcha branding, so that also requires a bit of CSS code (Provided awesomely by \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] ), but this still only places the reCaptcha branding in the bottom-right portion of the web page, so hopefully users will be able to see it. I requested being able to have the reCaptcha branding positioned beside the Submit/Donate button, and \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] has this on their radar, so... yay! Reasons for choosing Charitable The bottom line is, when we saw Charitable, and all it has to offer, we knew we wanted that plugin, and all others faded away. The option to allow others to set up fundraisers, and recurring payments is great, as is the reasonable fixed fee, unlike some competitors who take a % of donations. I'm not very tech savvy but it's relatively intuitive, there is good documentation and the support has been excellent. Pros Very customisable but works fine out of the box. Excellent support. Great value. Cons We ran into a few issues where our website Wordpress Theme (Theme X Pro) had minor incompatibilities with WP Charitable. WP Charitable were fantastic at trouble shooting and we were able to resolve it very quickly. The issues seem to be specific to this Wordpress theme behaving a little differently to other Wordpress Themes, so it's not a problem with WP Charitable per say. And as we like both WP Charitable, and our theme - it hasn't deterred us from either product. It's also great that they are constantly developing it further based on feedback and what we as the users are encountering in our daily use. Our overall experience has been great. Pros The plugin was really simple to use, great documentation is provided by the team. Their support is also fantastic, always there to help and response times are good. The plugin gives you the exact needed functionality to achieve any form of donation/fundraising functionality on your website. Their paid packages include some extensive features that truly allow you to fundraise on a large scale. Compatibility was great. Features that we loved were the multiple payment gateway integrations, charitable ambassadors, charitable fee relief, donor comments, geolocation. Cons I have no negative comments about this product. Like many, or perhaps most, our team has customized the software to fit our specific needs. Whenever a problem or question has arisen, the Charitable team has immediately stepped up to help us find and implement a solution. The word 'immediately' is not used lightly either. We once had a significant issue that was adversely impacting our clients (an issue that it turned out was due to something we did, \_not\_ to the Charitable software, I should add!). The Charitable team lived up to the name of their software, and immediately dove into the problem, quickly determining the cause and effecting a solution. They are equally quick to address any bugs in the underlying software that are uncovered, diligently addressing any problems brought to their attention with speed and efficiency. I cannot recommend the software or the team highly enough. Pros The software is both comprehensive and easy to use, with a well designed back-end interface and easily integrated with the front-end. For WordPress developers, it's a dream. The creators are responsive and post most everything to GitHub for feature and pull-requests. For my organization, we were able replace a proprietary enterprise vendor that charged us nearly $20,000 per year with a custom, in-house Charitable set up. Cons For those accustomed to gofundme and other platforms, you may find some features missing out of the box. You'll have to pay extra for add-ons to help replicate some of these features and others may be missing altogether. But in the end, it's great value for a WordPress plugin.
