Pros

  • Yapp fulfills all the features we look for, at an excellent price point, and with excellent customer service.

  • Love it and when I share with my clients, they to love all the capabilities it offers especially for the price.

  • Our Yapp was so effective in connecting attendees with each other and giving them real-time information along with helping them navigate the conference with ease. The social feed was very effective.

  • We are extremely pleased with Yapp, as were our conference attendees -- comments included "very user friendly" and "I like this! Very easy to use.

Cons

  • I haven't found anything that I dislike about this software.

  • Not many format to customize it a bit more. Maybe I'll explore it a bit more on the next conference.

  • Inviting people to use the app is not the easiest, some people struggled to download and get set up.

  • It is limited in what the app does but for a basic quick design this is what you should use.

"Great for Cross-country bike ride. "

Overall: We have struggled in finding a good app to use for our events to communicate with thousands of people across the country.

Pros: We love the ability to post many events and ease to provide event updates.

Cons: Sometimes our imports get a little tedious to be able to manipulate the information for our events.

Reasons for Switching to Yapp: Needed a more mobile friendly option.

"Inspiriting for collaboration and teamwork"

Overall: They have good services with a limited free trial available which is great.

Pros: Yapp has helped enlighten our teams on the need to collaborate in service delivery. An empowered team is always my main goal. Notifications and announcements can be accessed from a central point for clarity and motivation through efficient mobile apps. Being self-generated apps, customization is easy and fruitful. Yapp does not require much knowledge and skills on coding and design.

Cons: Fully satisfying. Easy to operate and user friendly. However, the price should be revisited to be lowered inorder to accommodate smaller businesses.

Switched From: GoTo Webinar
Reasons for Switching to Yapp: I switched since the customer support team for GoTo Webinar tool is very unresponsive. It takes days for them to attend an issue.

"Great App for any [Scientific] Conference"

Overall: Splendid - the customer service/tech support are absolutely impeccable. [sensitive content hidden], and others have always been prompt and most supportive, even when some of my too-high ideas may not have had immediate solutions. As we know, tech support can make or break a company and this one, here, is a winner!

Pros: Ease of use Ability to have more complicated schedules (to include poster sessions, parallel sessions, etc.) Flexibility to add a variety of pages (speaker bio, contact, marketing, sponsor recognition, agenda, polls, event gallery, etc.) Pages with rich-text Appending PDFs within the app

Cons: Loss of the Twitter/X embedding in the app Lack of ability to embed code for a JotForm survey, or a PaperTurn document, let's say (so, keeping the user in the app rather than sending them out)

Alternatives Considered: Zoho Meeting, Cvent Event Management and Whova

"Simple and just what I've been looking for."

Overall: The app was exactly what I needed without all the extras other apps were putting into their app that I wouldn't need. Easy to customize & user friendly.

Pros: I liked how easy it was to build and I was also able to get help where I needed it in a timely manner. I was able to personalize what I needed without having tons of things on the app that we don't need.

Cons: It's not clear on how to add icons that do specific things. I originally had a camera feature but it didn't allow people to take photos so I switched it to Crowd photos and that worked fine. I also don't know how to add a feature for users to get in touch with me with questions. This is my next to do on the app before we launch again.

Reasons for Choosing Yapp: Had the features I was looking for and price.
Reasons for Switching to Yapp: My old product wasn't listed so I chose one but what we used previously was Attendify. The product no longer exists so we went years without using an app until Yapp was highly recommended by other meeting planners.

"Good app for the price"

Pros: Overall a very good app for conferences. Especially for the price

Cons: More of the ability to customize. For example, adding a weather widget. Would also like the ability to add more graphics to the individual pages. For example, on the attendees page, be able to add a banner. Or maybe a banner that was consistent on all pages.

"Conferences Are A Snap with Yapp! "

Overall: With the ability to provide all of your conference information prior to their arrival, participants are able to maximize their experience while attending. The app helps organizers and attendees reduce anxiety associated with simple things like locating the registration desk, finding meeting rooms and knowing when and where breaks and lunches will take place.

Pros: The Yapp app is easy to setup, distribute and use. Participants from Baby Boomers to Gen Z attended our recent conference and they were able to download and use the app to see the schedule, read about the speakers and learn about the sponsors and vendors. We were able to change the schedule in real time for outdoor related activities when the weather took a sudden turn for the worse. Sponsors and vendors were very excited to see their logos and links to contact information had been included in their own special sections.

Cons: While you will have to use a minimal amount of creativity to customize your app, it is not difficult in the least. The ability to upload CSV files for sections like sponsors and speakers makes maintaining those sections a breeze when last minute changes are necessary.

Reasons for Choosing Yapp: When compared to other products, we chose the Yapp App because it was affordable and easy to use.

"Insane bang for your buck."

Overall: Fantastic. Love it and look forward to renewing!

Pros: I've worked on custom apps and customizable out of the box apps before that were monumentally more expensive and they paled in comparison to the ease of use and functionality that we found in the Yapp apps. We also had far more engagement with this app than our previous apps. My favorite thing is how you can design "pages" and move them around when you want to highlight one over another. Not being constrained to a traditional model where the developer chooses what they think is the way the app should be designed was really great for us.

Cons: I would like to see the social feeds brought back and expanded. When we signed on, Twitter was still being fed into the app, which would have been cool to see. We didn't think our attendee base would be on board with logging in to be able to share their social posts, but the ability to see our feeds would be really nice -- plus adding our feeds from Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram would have been an added bonus.

Reasons for Choosing Yapp: Cost was a huge factor for us. We were more willing to go without one until we found the Yapp app.
Reasons for Switching to Yapp: Cost was the most important reason, and I didn't realize how clunky and un-user friendly it was until I started using the Yapp app.

"Promising App for Future Events"

Overall: The functionality of Yapp has been spot on for some of my clients, especially ones with smaller events. Yapp's customer service is one of the best parts of working with the app. Their responses are always timely, and I like that it gives you information on how long it might be if it's going to be a little bit. They've also always seemed very open to suggestions and requests from users.

Pros: Yapp is incredibly user-friendly. Building it out took a little bit of exploring the first time, but I was quickly able to figure out how to build what my clients were expecting in an event app. The rich text pages allow for some good customization, and agenda and attendee uploads are streamlined and very easy to use. When the app is up and running and being used at an event, it seems to operate smoothly for attendees, and any updates I send populate quickly and easily.

Cons: Although the app does allow for some visual customization, especially on the rich text pages as mentioned above, it would be nice to have more customization options on some of the other page types. It would also be nice to have the ability to insert custom code to be able to do things like embed forms without having to send people out of the app.

Alternatives Considered: Guidebook and Whova
Reasons for Choosing Yapp: The price of Yapp compared to our needs was spot on. Some of the other apps had too many extra functions that we don't need that muddy the water and are always a constant price add-on. We've also had bad luck with a couple of other products being glitchy when we need to update.

"Easy Effective way to reach your attendees"

Overall: I love using Yapp. It is easy to set up. It is easy to add information.

Pros: The thing I like most about Yapp is how easy it is to set up and use.

Cons: The least thing I like about Yapp is connecting people, such as attendees who are speakers and who are in the agenda. I wish they could be easily linked. I know there is a way, but it is not an easy way.

Reasons for Choosing Yapp: Our parent organization uses the app for their conferences.

"Love the App"

"Good Product"

Overall: It has been a positive experience. It is fairly easy to set up and it is user friendly.

Pros: It is easy to access and is user friendly.

Cons: We have evaluations that our conference attendees must fill out and we have to link Survey Monkey evaluations into the Yapp App because it can't do what we need it to do regarding evaluations.

Reasons for Choosing Yapp: It is much cheaper, but the other app does have good functionality for evaluations, which may cause us to switch in the future if Yapp doesn't improve their evaluations.

"Use of Yapp for a community leadership program"

Overall: Communication output is easy- a one-stop shop. And we save lots of trees!!

Pros: The app was very easy to adapt to our specific operational requirements, such as listing of participants with their business contact information; promotion of sponsors; detailing agendas for our program days; reference contact information of our board members; and ability to quickly notify participants of last minute changes in programs. In addition, participants have the ability to download specific forms and instructions that they wish to save in hard copy.

Cons: Lack of ability to customize each page (graphics, etc); lack of ability to download all saved pictures as a group; lack of ability to poll group so that results are not publicized to entire group.

"Schedule your Conference with ease"

Pros: The app helped us put our conference schedule out to our members and update it without issues. We have gone away from paper schedules to the app and it has helped. There are always last minute changes, with the app you can update everyone with just one click.

Cons: It's a learning curve but, once you set it up it's very easy to use and the customer service is great.

"Great tool for our conferences and events. Easy to customize and use."

Pros: It's easy to deploy and update.There are a lot of options for page customization, with RTF bringing the ability to add almost anything. As a user we have all that we need available; adding seminars to my schedule is my favorite.

Cons: It is expensive for smaller events. There are external restrictions on social media - I still would like an Instagram feed of a certain hashtag to populate in the app.

"Excellent, affordable option for a non-profit!"

Overall: Excellent. Very good customer service.

Pros: Yapp fulfills all the features we look for, at an excellent price point, and with excellent customer service.

Cons: The way the schedule with tracks is designed to be used isn't super compatible with our event format, but we make it work.

Reasons for Choosing Yapp: Mostly cost, as a non-profit that was one of the main selection criteria. Other app platforms we looked at were MUCH more expensive.

"Great App"

Overall: Using this app was a great experience and management tool for Middle College Orientation.

Pros: Yapp is easy to use and allows many students to access information by use of their device.

Cons: Trying to get break out information during sessions was a bit tricky

"YAPP AWAY!"

Pros: We love YAPP at my company! It was so very useful for all 500 people at my latest event to navigate the entire conference. Thank you YAPP!

Cons: Literally can't think of anything. I did not pay for it, so I don't know the cost, but maybe free for me forever??

"Using the Yapp"

Pros: I love that I can schedule announcements. I wish that when I was scheduling them it would schedule for the time my event took place, not where I was scheduling from. I also wish as an admin I could create scheduled posts from within the desktop instead of on the mobile device. I like that the schedule autosplits between the days of the event and that members can post in the social feed like they would on social media.

Cons: Please see comment above about the scheduling announcements.

"Favorite Application"

Overall: Love that it keeps our attendees on track. Cuts down on amount of printed material we have to provide.

Pros: Easy to use and update. Easy for attendees to download and use during the events

Cons: Can be clunky at times. Wish some of the editing was a little easier.

"Yapp Review"

Overall: really simple to use.

Pros: Ease of use, I was able to get everything set within a few days and get it out for our participants to utilize. I received immediately feedback from them, and we have others interested in using your app.

Cons: It would be nice to understand what other capabilities it has. Based on your survey questions it seems we are not taking full advantage of your tool.

"User Friendly, Affordable"

Overall: Great customer service.

Pros: It's user friendly and customer service is great.

Cons: It would be great at some point to be able to upload files in an excel sheet.

Reasons for Choosing Yapp: socio is no longer available, but the product is very similar, but Yapp is much more user friendly.
