Pros

Great support. Willing to work through any problem. Pricing is excellent. Support is always right there. Software is very intuitive. Piggy back's with our accounting software and technicians in the field extremely well.

Cons

There have been some speed issues that we are fighting to get through. They have been very easy to work with in trying to solve the problem. They have made every effort. However the issue still has not been buttoned down.

I've been with Smart Service for two years now, but I'm starting to research other companies and software. I have ongoing issues with their Smart Service program and iFleet. First, I have yet to have one full month without issues. Second, their hours start at 8:30am, so if you have issues, you need to wait until they open. There is no before or after hours support. I deliberately started speed dialing at 8:28am (they open at 8:30am), trying desperately to be the first one, since if Smart Service and iFleet are crippled, so is our business. I kept getting the "we are closed" recording. Finally, at 8:31am, the receptionist picks up, says her greeting, and then tells me her techs are already all busy on other lines and asks if they can call me back, which I find difficult to believe. Because I just couldn't sit around and wait for Smart Service tech support to call me back, I started researching the issue myself, and hopefully corrected it. When they called me back, I told them I no longer needed their assistance, as we fixed it waiting for them, he said, "Oh, you're welcome!" I replied, "You did nothing to help!" I will look into another vendor's products and services, because I am truly displeased currently with Smart Service.

Pros

Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty intuitive and easy to use.

Cons

We get a ton of error messages, force closes, etc. daily. The start-up process can be a bit slow as well, and customer management features are limited.

I like the organization of the jobs and customers. I also really like that it syncs to quickbooks at ease.

Cons

Sometimes seems to have trouble syncing up with our ifleet tablets. Other than that, everything is great.

All the of the necessary information is printed out on the daily workorders as needed. Again, this program is very easy to use as well as teach to new employees.

Pros

We love the fact that it is simple to use and holds a lot of our customers information. Searching for customers is what we use on a daily basis anytime our phone rings.

Cons

We really don't have much of anything to complain about. sometimes there are glitches but nothing major.

This is a great program, they could fix a few things, but other than that I have been satisfied.

Pros

Scheduling is easy and organized.

Cons

They don't tell you when it has been updated and their mapping system does not allow you to "optimize" more than 100 jobs at a time. My techs tell when their system is acting up and then I have to contact them to find out why and usually it is due to an update.

### "Easy and Accurate Dispatching with Smart Service"

Pros

We use Smart Service to dispatch our team of 14 Plumbers and Apprentice Plumbers. This would be a Herculean job without the Smart Service technology. With Smart Service, our two dispatchers are able to orchestrate our work orders to match up skills of plumber with customer needs and minimize drive time. If there is a technical problem, Smart Service is very responsive and helpful. The best part of Smart Service software is that it integrates with QuickBooks and I-Fleet Phones.

Cons

Our Plumbers do have a suggestion to improve Smart Service. When the Work order information shows on the Plumber's I-Fleet phone, he sees the main contact name and phone number plus an alternate phone number. It would be helpful if he also could see an alternate name.

After years of researching dispatching systems. I finally decided to go with Smart Service and so glad I did. Very easy to use. Love the Tech Support system. They are very knowledgeable and friendly. There is always a learning curve with a new system. But they were always willing to help me with my issues. Once I learned the system, I am so glad I choose Smart Service! The only thing we have problems with is the 8:30 open time. Our techs get on the road at 8:00 and when the server is down and the I pads can't sync for whatever reason. The guys can't get there jobs on tablet and get their day started.

Micro soft access crashes a lot.

Pros

We love that all our customers are able to have their extinguishers serviced every year on time due to Smart Service scheduling. Love the reporting tab so we can get a monthly spreadsheet of what we have due each month.

Cons

I've been using this software for 3+ years and have never had a problem so far! If I ever did, their technical support is always so helpful!

Smart Service is a pretty good software product, but its slow when maneuvering through it. It has great information and we utilize a good majority of its uses. It just takes a while to go from screen to screen.

Pros

I like that it's easy to use and the techs can add notes to it while out in the field.

Cons

I dislike that it is very slow. It takes a long time to go through each call and switch from screen to screen.

Pros

Smart Service has greatly improved our efficiency when it comes to scheduling and dispatching our technicians. We're able to keep detailed notes and attachments, private and public, regarding our customers and individual jobs. After using this product for more than 7 years, we've noticed great improvements in speed and functionality. Customer service and tech support is also very knowledgeable and friendly and always help us through any issues we may have in a timely manner.

Cons

Updates are somewhat slow to be released, and although there's a lot for us to customize, I think it could use some more customizing options. Split window (scheduling window side by side with customer search) would be a significantly valuable feature to have.

Smart Service is a good program. Not much for hiding things from your invoices. We purchased it and when through the data conversion. It was a pain, As everything new. It is a good software but it is based around their mobile tech software which does not work for us because of the attention to detail we require on our invoices. Overall it is a good software, that has its quirks, but all in all it is good.

Pros

All the customization that can be done to the software. Customer support is good as well.

Cons

The customization's needed cost a lot, and need to be done by their people. No actual spell check.

i am not made aware of updates when they are released, i usually have an error, which will lead to a call and i will update. the ability to use smart service on ipad would be nice. mass data upload option, ie device inventory from excel sheet.

I find that Smart Service has many valuable features. I especially like how it connects with QuickBooks. It really seems to get the job done.

Pros

I like the way it connects with QuickBooks and I also like the different reports that can be used. I'm looking forward experimenting with the marketing end of Smart Service.

Cons

Would prefer the routing would use Google instead of map point.

We have been using Smart Service for the last few years in our HVAC business and it is a game changer. We are able to capture ALL of the information that comes out of the field, track everything that happens and run everything paperless. I would highly recommend Smart Service to anyone with a service business.

Easy to use, Tech support is amazing, and the sync between Quickbooks and Smart Service is great!

Great ideas in theory for managing service business. Technicians can view pictures and send pictures back to office in report.

Cons

Customer service, girl answers and ALWAYS needs to get back to you. Same day response RARELY HAPPENS. Once they do get back to you 9/10 issues couldn't be resolved or "are under development" or will submit to developer. I never got notification if something was ever fixed. I alway had to try to find it for myself. They charge an additional monthly customer service fee for SUPPORT & UPDATES! Most of the time I called was because something in their system wasn't working. The system is very slow, one way integration with quickbooks. Meaning you can pull information in from Quickbooks and not vice versa. Not a two way sync with Google cal only one way. Overall, overpriced software, bad customer service, slow to fix bugs.

Good value for the dollar, somewhat user friendly, but does not always work with QuickBooks, but neither do the other programs, and you need to be a computer programmer to use the other programs. good for scheduling, not to user friendly on the mobile side with items.

Pros

I liked the promises of what it would do to streamline our business.

Cons

We purchased this product for our plumbing and heating company to help with dispatching, and it cost a lot more time and money than it was worth. Everything is very tedious, and it is not a very intuitive program. If you do need to use the help desk (for which you are charged automatically annually without any notice because they have it in their contract), you can never reach someone right away and have to wait for a call back. We recently bought different software, and the time saved in just 3 weeks is astounding! I had called to pull our information from Smart Service and stated very clearly on the phone what I was doing and that I would no longer be using their product. I was never informed that I would need to provide a written letter of cancellation, so I was charged without notice for support for the next year for a product we were no longer using. My customer service experience with them was horrible. Our QuickBooks data is also corrupt from the information from Smart Service not transferring correctly. I would never recommend this product or company.

overall a good experience. there are many times it takes hours to get a call back for support, this some time takes us totally of line and then we are back to handwritten tickets, adding obviously more work in the office
