Pros: Easy to go in to see detailed daily stats of individuals and teams/groups accurately. Also great tool to help stay on top of individual and group performance. VERY accurate.

Cons: I have never had an issue using Tableau. I use the app within the job that I perform as a contractor, so the IT and pricing is not something that I deal with.

Pros: I like how Tableau makes it easy to analyse and understand data through its visualization options, it's also fun and when I say challenging I mean that before discovering Tableau, I wasn't too sure I would be able to analyse data quantitatively, but Tableau by challenging me, as not a quantitative data person, made me really like data visualization!

Cons: Sometimes Tableau is not as intuitive as I wish it was, so sometimes it does take me a day to figure out something, it's usually related to how I organize my data, but still I wish it was a little more flexible, especially when it comes to what type of chart I would want to use.

Overall: Ease to display data and make it digestible to people that have never worked with data.

Pros: One of the best tools I've used for data visualization. It comes with a ton of features and is easy to understand how to manipulate data once you're used to it.

Cons: New versions of the software sometimes break dashboards already created. Has a big learning curve with a lot of trial and error.

Pros: Tableau is a BI tool that I met last year and I was impressed from ita easy of use and its functions. It's a BI Tool that I woud reccomend for all those want an easy, fast and scalable tool.

Cons: Direct support it's a problem, however there are several resellers or SW-integrators very well skiled on this tool

This tool is very versatile because it allows you to show the reports in very varied graphic representations.

Comments: In General it is a powerful tool that gives you information at the moment taking the information directly from the database.

Pros: This system is of great application and is easy to load, it contains multiple functionalities that allow you to customize the views, execute robust formulas to deliver calculated data,

Cons: I do not have anything bad to say, but if I can contribute something it is related to sometimes understand where are some variables, depending on the amount of information is the computer you should use to have the expected performance.

Pros: You can combine multiple data sources into a single dashboard, that can quite easily be created with drag-and-drop tools and widgets. It has integration with programming language R, meaning if you know your way around that language, statistics and analysis becomes alot easier.

Cons: The learning curve is steep due to how extensive it is and how broadly it can be used for data analysis and visualization, especially if you do not have programming experience. Account licenses can be expensive, and combined with the time needed to learn and setup a system, means a quite big investment before you see any results.

Overall: We use it for structuring and ordering our business intelligence data

Pros: It can handle a huge amount of data easily without any lags or delays. The graphs are cool, and the map is the best feature. You can get it in any platform.

Cons: Very complicated, even if you have used other tools. Lack of adjustments, and customization. Everything is just the way it is. You cannot change graphs' labels or move them freely.

Pros: Overall, the product itself has given us what we need but dealing with the support has been a nightmare.

Definitely test using their trial offer. We found the integration to be fairly straightforward and were able to get up and running after only a couple of hours of work.

The product has some UI issues but is robust and functions well for our needs. If you buy, just hope that you don't have to deal with customer service or a sales rep.

Cons: Our sales associate couldn't have been any worse. He didn't have a ton of product knowledge, would say he was going to do something and not do it and came across as a sleazy, double charging us and not sending a refund.

In general, I have just spent way too much time chasing the support team and sales team to get a response. There is zero internal communication and depending who you talk to you will be told a different answer.

Example, after our purchase we received a broken URL for our authorization code which seemed like a very minor issue but took more than a week to resolve and led to more than a month of headaches and issues.

It has been super disappointing and I would not recommend this product to anyone. The headaches far out way any advantages this product might have over other providers.

Overall: very little, terrible customer service.

Pros: tableau helps me in a positive way when I present information to the director of the department, since I can connect different data that I use to perform analysis through tables, graphs, maps among others, I have my own profile on the tableau page and can be published Immediately, in real time, it is a powerful tool and it is easy to use, it is useful to analyze data and make important decisions, the best thing is that you can relate different datas and use it as if it were a single file, the graphics are created in a simple, I can see it from my mobile phone, tablets and computer as there is a Dashboards for each of them, to present my data I make a Dashboards with all the information and I can put a single global filter that facilitates the analysis of the data, the maps are personalized and colorful, you can also add images and perform calculations to have relevant information, there are a lot of users using tableau which helps to get many tutorials and videos on the web in case there is any doubt

Cons: Many times when I make one or several changes when saving tableau it shows me an error which prevents me from saving the changes made and I lose the work done and if I change the name to the data that I am used it does not recognize me

Pros: This software is integrated to analytic language R, which in itself is hard to use, however the interface of this software makes life easier by allowing us to use such integrated features. The visualization capability makes it easy to use statistics! It has a drag and drop data exploration feature, what more could one ask from a BI tool.

Cons: As great as this software is, its still not yet the complete BI solution for an organization. There are other tools that need to used along with this.

Pros: We have been using Tableau for generating custom dashboards and charts for our product users. It is a great !! Visualizations is one the best feature that Tableau brings to the table, also integrated with excel spreadsheets so the learning curve is limited

Cons: One of the biggest issues with Tableau is the implementation time to get it started. Mostly operates as a platform hence it can take time in comparison to its peers to load.

Pros: There are really a lot of different things that I like so much in this business intelligence software of Tableau. First of all, it is a huge number of possible integrations from different programs which contain the statistic of the different departments of your company, like CRM systems, Excel tables and so on. So I could easily upload all the information inside this software, put it on one dashboard and see everything in one place. Also, there are a very convenient interface and well-realized automatic-reporting system.

Cons: The dashboard on which you can see all the information that you need in my opinion requires revision regarding the way of visualization of this data. There is lack of popular illustrations of the statistic that is popular for most of the people.

Pros: The software has simple and easy to use controls to create a lot of analytical views. The options of graphs and charts that can be created are also large in number. Data connection for almost all types of sources is available

Cons: Few driver issues exist on OSX because of lack of native driver support. This problem, however, is solved in the licensed version and exists only in the community/academic version

Pros: Enables quick way to examine new data sets (it is much easier to visually see and take in versus running standard purely text-based data profiling methods)
Extremely fast
Multiple, indispensable dynamic visualizations can be displayed on one dashboard and driven by one set of parameters
Very responsive to the needs and desires of the user community
Highly customizable, but not unnecessarily complex

Cons: It is very expensive which keeps it out of reach of many smaller companies/non-profits (both Tableau Desktop and Server, but especially Tableau Server)
Somewhat of a steep learning curve

Overall: More effective understanding of data tables and columns (the quality and nature of the data contained in them). One-stop shop for displaying large amounts of data broken down in multiple ways.

Pros: Do you want to have a prosperous company, where everyone knows what is going on now in the market and in their working place? If your answer is yes then you will need to pay your attention to Tableau Desktop, the software that expands the horizons of your abilities. With this wizard, you will be able to get actionable insight fast for revealing everyday opportunities, connect to more data on premise in the cloud, answer deeper questions by building powerful calculations from existing data and put your data on the map for answering the question «where» as well as «why». Furthermore, by using Tableau Desktop, you will be able to take data offline or bring it in-memory in seconds, create your design, customize, and publish optimized dashboards for desktop, tablet, and phone. Also, I think that it is important that Tableau's software moves as fast as you do and secure your data on a higher level. Maybe, it is a reason that the award-winning research scientists, design gurus, and visualization experts choose Tableau.

Cons: Overall, Tableau is the Ferrari of BI visualization, but even if so, I think that the price is a little too high, it will be difficult for a mid-sized company to subscribe. Also, when too many filters are placed on the dashboard, it can be very slow so I would advise users to limit the number of filters to use. Otherwise, the program works fast and smooth.

Comments: But it is a very easy to use program, with many tools, many options to customize all types of visualizations, you can perform calculations within the same interface of the program, it is a tool with a lot of potential, which is constantly updated

Pros: It is a very versatile program, it allows you to make different presentations, from simple graphics to multivariate maps. It has the possibility to connect to different databases, which makes it a very powerful tool.

Cons: sometimes it is difficult to understand the location of the variables to achieve the visualization that is desired; On the other hand, sometimes map-type visualizations do not present as many details as one would like, or the union of several spatial-type files causes the program to occupy a lot of RAM, so it is necessary to have a good computer to improve the conditions of program operation

Comments: Overall, a very good product. It has a free trial license, so I recommend a trial to anyone interested in data visualizations.

Pros: I am a longtime user of Tableau an I think I should update my previous review. Some years ago, Tableau was already a top-contender. Starting from this position, it has enlarged the list of compatible databases, and the capabilities to mix and match data from different sources. In the last weeks, Tableau software has changed is pricing scheme, and now it offers a reduced-price "viewer" license. In the past, you were forced to buy "the more costly "publisher license" even fro viewers.

Cons: The palette of available visualizations is the same since too many years. (e.g. it is missing radial plots)

Cons: It is quite complicated to adapt the dashboard to different screen sizes and Tableau limits your posibilities. If you are not fluent with this, your graphs can be cut once you publish them, so it can throw your work to the trash.

Pros: Tableau has number of features. We can drag and drop the entities on the chart to see the live simulation in the chart.

Cons: This software does not have lot of cons. The only additional problem I can think of is that you need to learn Tableau scripting to customize chart sometimes. If a person os not from programming background or being a business user, someone can find it difficult to create customized chart.

Comments: Overall, I'm a very satisfied with the product especially the support from the community I get. Tableau keeps on innovating and improving its performance and features. At the time of this writing, Tableau has come up with a new extract called Hyper and it's tremendously fast! It also has come up with a data prep tool to support the Tableau Desktop.

Pros: It's very easy to use overall even non-programmers can use them by visually clicking and dropping objects around. Can perform dashboards with a few mouse clicks.

Cons: Price is a little too high for a mid-sized company to subscribe. When too many filters are placed on the dashboard, it can be very slow so I would advise users to limit the number of filters to use.

Cons: when saving many times it gives you an error and does not allow you to save the changes made, losing all the information already made, since you do not have an Internet connection you can not update the data, if you change the name of the database you are using it recognizes you and eliminates all the added data.

Pros: I use Tableau to better help me merchandise our website. I can see which products are selling the best from each category, with the help of this I can do a detailed analysis of any positions. Pros: Tableau is the software I use most (outside of Excel). The software's visualization tools are nice, at times amazing. Tableau connects with every data source I've ever needed (with the exception of one problem). The interactive capabilities and Tableau Public make for a perfect fit for a beginner to intermediate data visualizer. Advanced data visualizers probably find the functionality somewhat constraining, but that's one of the benefits of the software. Tableau is more than just a supped-up Excel graphics system. The analytical capabilities, although not best in class, offer all the basic calculations that most users will ever need.

Cons: Tableau is limited in its analytical capabilities. Tableau is working on making its use of R script more user friendly, although this requires the user to know R. Tableau's graphs are also somewhat limited at times, and Tableau for some reason takes pride in limiting its options (it apparently knows better than the user on what graphs are useful).

Overall: I get real-time data visualization from Tableau Software and a platform for posting cool and useful data visualizations without having to purchase a server.

Pros: Tableau Desktop helps us visualize and understand the data we have. Also, helps in the analysis of business, predicts the market trends. It's very easy to approach the dashboard; you can develop instrument panels in a few minutes. It is very easy to learn and use. In addition, good support to database connections, the best thing is that it supports R. We use Tableau as a way to visualize data and simply display raw tables. We connected it to various data sources, such as Oracle and MySQL.

Cons: Some functions seem unfinished and raw. With the latest update, I also have problems with frequent crashes. The inability to correctly export to excel is a big pain. I would like to be able to export data to most formats.

Pros: I'm late to the Tableau game, but I recently started using it and I'm impressed with it's functionality. To be clear, I'm sure I have only barely scratched the surface, and I am primarily just using dashboards that others have already created, but that said I have found it to be very useful in quickly figuring out what the "story" is behind my data.

Cons: It may be an issue with the way the specific dashboard I occasionally use was designed, but I've found some data display issues when using it on computers with lower resolution screens (I'm guessing the dashboard was designed on a computer with a higher resolution). This resulted in some data not displaying unless specifically hovered over with a mouse.

Pros: We were able to pick this software up and run with it pretty quickly, which was great. We use it to build several dashboards and report that are shared internally. We've directly connected it to several SQL & Access databases to achieve this. It's pretty user friendly and everything we output from it is pretty slick looking.

The "server" version is also nice as it enables us to publish reports to the web and share within the company. These server versions are interactive but not editable to ensure data accuracy when shared. No risk of someone trying to get creative and destroying your work.

Cons: There are a lot of updates that take up some of our IT resources. The support is helpful but can be rather slow to respond. It can struggle with larger datasets. There are some workarounds, but it's not how they explained it during the sales process.

Pros: Basically, I like the ability to break every position number on the SKU and see which one is better than the others. In addition, the service has an intuitive and fresh design compared to other BI tools. The table is well suited for scenarios where we need to display data visually instead of tabular data. Tableau Desktop helps summarize data, and summary data can be well represented only in a visual form. The community is the best. The company also responds well to user requests.

Cons: Graphical output can be improved in terms of visual information. Sometimes the graphical parameters and the user interface are not optimal for your requirements.

Tableau is a must for anyone working with data.

Pros: Tableau is a great product with a feature set that easily rivals that of of competitors. If customers are willing to eat its learning curve, then Tableau can almost certainly fulfill any data analytics need. And, if the company evolves its UI in the future, then there's every chance it might regain its solo position as king of self-serve BI. It is easy, full featured software to do data analyses.

Cons: There is a learning curve involved. A new Tableau Software user will need to spend time learning how to use the software. But it is so worth the learning curve because then it becomes easy and flexible to use

Pros: I started using tableau for a master's program, but the graphs and charts were so amazing that I have found ways to use it in my regular job.
There are so many different types of graphs and charts.
The customer service is amazing. I signed up for a trial and within a few days one of the company reps had contacted me to help me get an educational license.

Cons: I got frustrated at first because I was not putting the data incorrectly so I didn't get the outcomes I wanted.
It has a pretty steep learning curve.

Overall: The charts and graphs are eye-catching. There are so many different types of charts and graphs.

Pros: I love the ability to drag and drop columns into Tableau. The ability to change views of your data also lends to making more credible decisions. Sometimes these views open your eyes to new ways to look at data

Cons: The cost can be high for smaller companies but they do give you a trial period in which you can try out all features.

Pros: Drag and Drop. Thats all you have to know to use this software. You can create amazing representations and 3D effect visualisation for any size of data. Its the best available tool in the market and widely recognised by all corporates and data analysis agents.

Cons: I am not sure how feasible it is , in this software to modify and create like a 3D motion graphics and animation kind of representations that are cool to look at.

Pros: The dashboard our team set up is easy to navigate and keep organized. Filtering data by count or by variable chosen (e.g. paid plan) is easy to segment and view data as well. I don't use the platform on a daily basis like our in-house data specialist but I know he is a strong advocate for Tableau and its capabilities.

Cons: Viewing data on a large monitor is easy because you can scroll in a natural way. For some reason, looking at the same reports on a regular laptop screen (smaller than big screen) it doesn't display correctly and let me scroll the report with the same ease. I've even talked to our in-house data specialist about the issue and he thinks the issue is strictly screen size with no settings available to change. But I would think the reports would format to the screen size being used.

Tableau is great for presenting data to clients in a pretty organized way.

Comments: I think from my many years experience in working in data analytics I have never found anything as good as Tableau or a company as good as Tableau Software. This company is the best there is and I would love to see it used so widely that it becomes the industry gold standard for dashboards and dats analytics

Pros: How flexible it is and how much it does to create graphs, charts, tables for analytics So superior to business objects

Cons: There is a learning curve involved. A new Tableau Software user will need to spend time learning how to use the software. But it is so worth the learning curve because then it becomes easy and flexible to use

Pros: The variety of possibilities. It's literally possible to visualize data in mostly any way as long as you learn how to do it on the program.

Cons: It's not totally intuitive. It's complicated, and there isn't a clear way to learn how to do things. I self-taught myself, and it was a very confusing process, especially with the geographic mapping abilities. There are also a lot of things that could be improved from an end user perspective, to enhance the user experience using the interactive data tools that you can build. The loading time also is a limitation, every time you use a filter on a real site that hosts the interactive data tool from Tableau, it takes forever to load. A lot of users give up because of this.

Pros: For Data Scientists and advanced users, Tableau is the most efficient and powerful. Tableau offers different kinds of data visualizations and connectors to load once data.
Tableau has 3 offerings. A free version with limited functionality. Then Tableau desktop and Tableau Online are available on subscription pricing model, which is way cheaper when compared to the traditional pricing.
Tableau is a mature and stable product with a wide user base. Tableau is widely used in most companies i have worked for.
Tableau introduced a new data engine called Hyper recently, which promises faster performance.
Overall Tableau is a great product with bright future. In our company we leveraged it well.

Cons: Tableau is for sophisticated users. It requires training to get the best out of it. In our company we hired an experience consultant, who trained us and worked with us, so that we learnt all kinks of the tool.

Pros: Makes it easy to look at data by easy charts and graphs. Didn't have to make slides thanks to this software. Moreover, if you are working on a survey and want to look at interim cuts, I'd highly recommend this as updating data takes just a click. Adding calculations is also a great feature - prevents you from going back to excel everytime you need to add a new column to your excel

Cons: When data size increases, Tableau takes a lot of time to read the data. Moreover, in one case Tableau just converted my decimal numbers to whole and it took me a while to figure out what was going wrong with the data.

Overall: Made analyzing survey data really easy!

Pros: Tableau visualizations are very customizable. Tableau is a viz tool--so if you can dream it, you can most likely build it.

Cons: Advance calculations in Tableau are clunky and the software's "thinking" isn't always intuitive. Aggregations don't often behave as expected/

Overall: The software is user friendly and our users interact with Tableau daily.
