### "Awesome customer service and easy to use"

February 12, 2019

5.0

Pros

The Flocknote team is so helpful, and I appreciate all their assistance! The tools are very user friendly. I can also do stuff on the go - send emails and texts from my phone... really helpful if a snow day is called and I'm on my way to work - I can pull over (safety first!) and send a text to our parish/school from my phone!

Cons

I wish it could have some more sophisticated reporting (i.e. overall open rates per person, excel lists of which groups each person is in, etc.).

Hi Beth! Thank you for writing in with a great review! We love hearing that you can alert your parish/school of cancellations on-the-go from your phone. You also had a great suggestion that you'd like some more reporting features. I'll let the developers know about this! P.S. Thanks for staying safe! :)

### "Saves Time and Increases Participation"

November 24, 2019

5.0

Pros

I like the customer support most. It is by far the best of any type of subscription program I have used. FLOCKNOTES is designed for ease of use. It has a short learning curve. The percentage reached feature allows me to scrub my rosters and check up on the reasons non-responses. I found the exporting feature is way-simple to use.

Cons

The only criticism I have received from some in my Flock is that they cannot view everyone else's responses. I view this as a mixed blessing.

Reason for choosing Flocknote

I am actually using both. Depends upon the desired response.

### "A+ Support Team - Happiness Engineers"

January 7, 2021

5.0

The elderly got it immediately. That speaks volumes to the truth of the software. We have like a 75% penetration rate already.

Pros

The software is highly integrated at a systems level. It is flexible allowing any kind of element to be published as a communication. The integration with Word on Fire is the key reason I use it. The happiness engineers are like brothers and sisters. You can rely on them. They answer back like a sibling does. They're loyal and always have your back.

Cons

The discussion groups are the most important part of the software for interactive learning and sharing. It is unclear how well it works. I see the discussion feature, but I'm just not sure what the end user's experience is, so no matter how I set it up, I was never sure (and am still not), on if the parish members felt engaged or not. Social media software has to be the replacement for a community. Do I feel like I'm in the same room with people? Not so much.

Reason for choosing Flocknote

Flocknote is as close to Facebook as it gets. But, with Flocknote, you can trust your constituents.

### "Yup, Flocknote is effective and efficient!"

April 1, 2019

5.0

Finding a way for our ministries to communicate within their groups has been a challenge. No more with Flocknote! While some are slower to adopt (and adapt) than others, it is catching on and we LOVE it!

Pros

To be honest, it's as if Flocknote does the thinking for users. If a feature isn't obvious, there's a tutorial to answer the question. If any questions arise, Flocknote Happiness Engineers are THE SINGULAR BEST "help" team ever assembled. I think I want to be a Happiness Engineer when I grow up!

Cons

The single ONLY complaint is no built-in spell check for emails and newsletters.

### "Professional and Easy to Use"

May 31, 2019

5.0

We send to 1500 parishioners, and it is so easy to send our weekly emails to the groups who are interested in seeing them. We always get positive feedback.

Pros

I appreciate Flocknote's ease of use, and we have so much feedback from those who receive our emails that they appreciate the professional and organized layout. We love the connection with Bishop Barron and the ENGAGE program. I appreciate the thorough analytics.

Cons

I wish I could copy sections easily from one email to another. I copy the contents, and always have to reformat, especially since the color/centering/bolding often do not copy. I'd love to be able to grab a filled section and put it in another email. <--I do this ALL the time, where I just want one section from an existing email.

### "efficient communication"

May 22, 2019

4.0

like I say in the 1st box, quick mass communication on updates and changes. Quick way to keep in touch with church members in weather related disasters.

Pros

A quick way to communicate and update church members on changes to events/programs

Cons

numbers of characters allowed for 1 text is very limited. Sometimes, the information needed to be sent out is so much than it is allowed in 1 text. The church admin has to sent 2 or 3 texts. This usually annoys a certain age groups, especially the millennials.

Review Source

Response from Flocknote

May 23, 2019

Hi Joo -- thank you for this helpful review! You're correct that the text field caps out at 160 characters -- I'm sorry about that! The primary reason for this is so we can ensure that every cell carrier delivers each text as one single message. Beyond 160, some carriers will cut off extra characters into a second text, which would, for example, break any links that you included or just generally cause confusion. If you send very long texts, what you can do is break it into multiple texts and put footnotes (1/3, 2/3, 3/3) at the end of your text so that members know that there are multiple parts to your text. I'm sorry if this wasn't the answer you were hoping for, but I've let our developers know your thoughts about texting. Thanks for keeping us sharp! :)

### "Flocknote, Parishes and Dioceses"

January 8, 2021

5.0

Very positive. Some parishes came on board very quickly, saw the value and became users. Others are, for reasons that are difficult to discern, more reluctant.

Pros

Easy to use, looks clean and professional, but can also be warm and familiar. It is a tool with a lot of utility.

Cons

Seems to intimidate those unfamiliar with the technology or the discipline of Church social media

Reason for choosing Flocknote

I was user already at the parish and then brought it to the Diocese.

### "I'm still learning the new features"

May 27, 2019

5.0

Lower cost than my previous solution. Easy as falling off a rock, and much less painless.

Pros

I love that it's so easy to use and that it gives me so much feedback about the effectiveness of my messages.

Cons

I used Flocknote previously 3 years ago when I was in NYC. The product has become more feature rich since then. I just have to take the time to learn the new features and to roll it out to my staff and ministries.

### "Helps Us Communicate "

January 23, 2020

5.0

We’ve enjoyed using Flocknote and it has helped us communicate with our parents.

Pros

I can make several different groups. We can quickly send out a message to all our students’ parents at once. They are able to individually respond to us versus responding to the entire group.

Cons

We don’t use Flocknote every month, but would have to pay for it even if we didn’t send out message. Therefore, we have to export and delete all our members to avoid being charged. I wish there was a way we could keep our members on Flocknote, even on the months we don’t use it, without being charged. Because when we export all the contacts and then add them, it gives them the welcome message each time.

Review Source

Response from Flocknote

January 24, 2020

Hey there, Dillon. We really appreciate the review! Yes, if you will not be communicating with members for a period of time and you want to lower your costs, you have the option to export members to a spreadsheet (as a backup) and then remove them from the network. When you're ready to send messages again, you can simply import that spreadsheet back in. However, I do want to clarify that you can simply remove your welcome messages before importing and it will not send those welcome messages to your members. But thank you for letting the team know you'd like to see this process simplified further for the future. We value your input! :)

### "Bring Your Parishioners Together"

February 12, 2019

5.0

Pros

Our parishioners are more informed than ever of all the events and ministries at our parish. We have had more participation from parishioners and have closed the communication gap we seemed to have by just publishing a weekly paper bulletin to had out at church. Sending out a weekly e-mail Newsletter using Flocknote has given us the ability to reach parishioners that may be unable to come to church. In addition, parishioners have the ability to update their contact information, thus improving on our church database.

Cons

Somewhat difficult to use the special features.

### "I don't have to track that list or wait until I get to outlook - Uno helps us communicate"

December 15, 2017

4.0

I like to be able to take care of ministry items during a lunch break at work or on my phone. As a member of other ministries (including other organizations that use it) its great to see the notes where I can find them.

Pros

I can send a note to all of the ministry groups I head up without having to be at my PC. I can access via my phone to send an email, approve a newsletter, or text reminder the day of an event. The replies can come back to me via the app, the dashboard in the browser, or my email. Also, I can go back to see a previous conversation without having to launch my mail program and search for it among my many different folders I might have filed it under.

Cons

I really wish it had an option to add an event to your calendar with the notes. While we a can notify the users, they still have to add the event into their phone or email calendars manually instead of clicking in the message. Right now I try to add a link to an ICS file instead

### "Heavenly Flocknote"

November 26, 2019

5.0

In our faith formation program, we knew we had to contact parents in an efficient and fast way without using our cell phones to do so. Flocknote has definitely made this happen! So far I have only reached out to our catechists and it works wonderful! Email doesn't work that well because we don't have everyone's email and nowadays, people prefer text messages.

Pros

Once I got the fear of trying a new software, it has been easy setting up the groups I need and the fast reply I get from the people I contact. I can choose to email them or text them.

Cons

So far the number of words I can use for a text message. (I forget text messages are short and to the point.

Reason for choosing Flocknote

This is what our diocese recommended.

### "Wonderful Way to Mass Communicate"

May 12, 2021

5.0

I have loved using Flocknote and how easy it is to receive messages as well. They come through as a text message that you can respond to if needed. Your responses only go to the person who sent it if what you are writing needs to be kept private.

Pros

This app is so easy to use and allows for LOTS of people to be added. This has been a great tool to send mass messages to our church. We use this for prayer requests, committee member information and general notifications to our church.

Cons

This does cost money. But it is so worth it! It takes some time to set up but is great to use once all done.

### "We gave it a shot"

July 24, 2018

3.0

The benefit is a cost savings to the church by saving your expenses of doing mail out letters throughout the year.

Pros

Flocknote provides an email and text solution for your church, and they do a good job of it. Another pro is that you are able to have ono-to-one text conversations through the system. This is a huge benefit that you need form your texting provider.

Cons

Two things: the first is, it was a little pricey for our ministry. As we began to look around, we found other solutions that offered equal or better features for less cost. Also, FlockNote does not offer text giving. We wanted a provider that would allow us to communicate to our members as well as provide a simple way for them to be able to give via text.

### "Top Notch Church Management and Configuration Software"

September 11, 2022

5.0

By switching from primarily email-based communications to a primarily SMS-based communications, we have greatly increased our open rate and our engagement with our congregation.

Pros

I love that Flocknote has designed their product with church-based users in mind; the templates and defaults prioritize the needs and address the challenges of church leaders. I also appreciate how Flocknote provides excellent, individualized customer service and is constantly adding and improving features.

Cons

I'd love to see a more robust feature where users with landlines can receive audio versions of the messages.

Reason for choosing Flocknote

Maturity of the product and integrated people-management solution.

### "Flocknote review"

May 31, 2019

5.0

Our pastor often encourages people to "take home a bulletin and refer to it during the week." It seems the office is inundated with the same phone calls week after week. "What time is Mass" or "What can I leave at the cemetery?" Flocknote is the perfect tool for communicating with parishioners in a top-of-the-mind manner. We can send out Mass schedules just before Holy Day or cemetery protocols before Memorial Day. Things people forget by Thursday. I must add, the tech support from the "Happiness Engineers" is fast & accurate, even if the name is a little cutesy.

Pros

I love the manner in which everything is laid out. It's easy to use & there is very little clutter per page. Often it seems software designers get gimmicky, trying to show off for other designers and forgetting what it is like for people who really do not like steep learning curves. Even my pastor, who once asked "Do they deliver e-mail on Sunday?" is getting the hang of it.

Cons

Labels on the buttons are sometimes a little too cutesy and I pause, wondering if I should click on a button that says "Wahoo!"

### "The Best Solution For Reaching our Community!"

August 7, 2019

5.0

Flocknote is as close to a 'silver bullet' as possible for communicating with our whole community, which is diverse, engages with varying degrees, and has varying needs. From the staff perspective, even our most computer-novice staff find it easy to use and helpful. Compared to other commercial/corporate tools, it is far better suited to our needs and significantly less expensive. Customer service is rapid and very helpful. We would recommend this to anyone.

Pros

It is simple, accessible, very cost effective, and makes the most of systems already in place in people's lives without adding extra complications, providing easy ways to solicit critical feedback and engage in conversations.

Cons

The dashboard is a little loud, visually.

### "Helpful from a parishioner's point of view"

August 16, 2018

It has helped with communication to small groups within our church.

Pros

I am not familiar with this from an administrative point of view, but rather from a parishioner's perspective. It has been very helpful to receive reminders with this software. It has kept the members of smaller groups up to date without having to look up information on the website or search for the church bulletin.

January 1, 2020

4.0

Since the introduction of Flocknote, I have spent many hours setting it up, creating a data base and studying all the training videos. Mow I send a video to our parishioners on a daily basis.

Pros

Content and ease of use. Well established training

Cons

The Help line is too slow in replying as far as we are concerned as we are in Australia and have a big time difference. Flocknote is very poor with communication outside USA

Reason for choosing Flocknote

We did not look at any other services. We were attracted to Bishop Barron and Flocknote was the only way to receive this. Stupid Question
