January 8, 2021 5.0 This has been an amazing tool to maintain our parish community. Everyone feels included and can easily respond to questions or sign up for events. The sign-up feature came just in time for us to implement Mass signups. We have also found that parishioners are more likely to update their communication information so they don't miss out on anything. Pros I love that I can easily create professional-looking notes for groups of people. I love that it's easy to add sign-ups, links, photos, and surveys and organize notes in a user-friendly way. Cons I wish that there was a way to send a note to only those who have signed up for an event, using the email or phone number that they used to sign up. February 11, 2019 5.0 I feel confident that because my info is mostly received via text that a far greater percentage of group members are receiving pertinent info in a secure and timely manner. I'm reaching my target audience and couldn't be happier about it. It's also great because group members who are vacationing, homebound, or deployed on military operations, can still feel "plugged-in" to the parish. Pros I am a Group Administrator at my parish. The thing I love most about what Flocknote has to offer is that you can send out a note to EXACTLY the people you're trying to reach in just a matter of minutes. Whether it's a gorgeous graphics-filled, colorful quarterly update or just a simple one-sentence meeting reminder, this can be done with ease right from my phone. It's also super helpful that group members can reply publicly to the group or privately to the admins. Appreciation for Flocknote's security versus using traditional email is not lost on participating members. Cons I honestly can't think of any cons, truly. Pros Ease of use. Well organized and stable. Cons I'm particularly interested in next development cycle (import, reports, receipts..) I would like to be able to duplicate batches from a previous month. We have electronic giving for 55 individuals who give the same amount monthly. Additionally I'd like to be able modify fund designations as well as remove designations where there is no $ amount. Renaming or removing batches would be helpful as well as exporting batches in its entirety. Recording of fund campaigns would be a nice addition. May 9, 2019 5.0 I had several mistakes I made in setup and tech support took care of them immediately. And it was user error not theirs. There’s a lot to lear but the tutorials are there. I just opened my second account with my second church and would recommend it highly. Pros Simple, easy, and very effective It offer so much and there are plenty of tutorials and support if you need. This seems to meet ALL the criteria any church needs to effectively communicate, including affordable. Cons So far not anything to dislike. I started in 2017 but never gave it the chance until last month and I have used it every day and wondered what took me so long. Great tool. Because I normally handle so many different programs and outreach for the church, I find myself running out of time a lot. Therefore, I cannot spend a lot of time on all of the programs. With Flock note, the learning curve was very much easy and that was a blessing. Cons The fact that I cannot have everyone chat or respond to each other after I send a text to a group. Yes, the text field caps out at 160 characters -- I'm sorry about that, but I'd love to explain why. The primary reason for this is so we can ensure that every cell carrier delivers each text as one single message. Beyond 160, some carriers will cut off extra characters into a second text, which would, for example, break any links that you included or just generally cause confusion. What you can do is send multiple text messages and put footnotes (1/3, 2/3, 3/3) at the end of your text so that members know that there are multiple parts to your text. I recommended Flocknote to a missionary outreach organization I worked for years ago, because a parish I had worked at with that missionary group already used Flocknote. I'm glad to now be back on Flocknote as a religious sister working in an entirely new parish, and finding this program well-suited to communicating easily and efficiently with the high school youth and parents I serve. Pros 1) both email/text messages sent 2) ease of use for staff members 3) ease of signup and registration for parishioners 4) ability to draft and schedule messages to be sent later 5) analytics on how many have opened and read the materials sent 6) ability to receive by email any replies that come to flocknote messages Cons Sometimes adding attachments (.pdf or .mp4) didn't always getting sent through. Flocknote is helpful for this exact purpose. If you need to get in touch with the intent of sharing information about events and activities, this is an amazing tool for this purpose. Cons Unfortunately, as useful as this software is for the purpose of sharing information with a group of people, there is much to learn for a first time user. As with any software, you must be willing to invest a decent amount of time to figure out all the features of Flocknote. I can see the potential for using this software but I need to understand it more. Pros Once the members are correctly entered it is marvelous at creating a professional notification and sending it to the correct people. Cons On my first excel upload to a subgroup, I learned that unless you have access to the EVERYONE group I won't know about persons who have already been entered. Thus I may overwrite data that I don't want to lose. There is no undue or 2nd warning before the update is done and permanent. I think the documentation needs a lot more work and functionality. I've always had my questions answered and provided with solutions. Pros Simplicity. Both our older parishioners who head up ministry groups as well as students and staff are able to create their own communications. Cons No required fields for sign-ups so we end up with many contacts with just a phone number or email address and some emails and phone numbers with no associated names. Now we know exactly who we need to reach out to. Pros This software is easy to use. I am not very computer savvy but am able to produce emails for my parish with ease. Cons The canned messages used can not be changed. I addressed a message that automatically shows up at the bottom of an email and although misleading, it can not be changed. " January 13, 2021 5.0 It’s highly efficient and it’s given me reliable and accessible communication methods. It’s user friendly and the messages are professional, pretty and easy to read. Pros I like that I can choose between email or text. Also the Signup feature which tallies participant count for events. Also people can reply to your message and you see them all on this app. The newsletter-style message template helps me save time. Cons You cannot send a message to the same group using an older message. You have to start over with a new message and input the group names from scratch. I don’t like that Unolytics lists all activities one after the other. This makes it hard to read and find what you’re looking for. Suggestion: categorize them with tabs.
