Pros
Most importantly, the support experience has been fantastic. Although I haven’t needed too much in that regard, the few times I have contacted support resulted in very prompt response and resolution.
Easy setup with multiple/flexible options. Domotz gives me amazing insight and intelligent reporting that makes my techs 2x smarter and more efficient.
It's a very polished platform, that works very reliably and effortlessly. The customer service is awesome, no question is not too small, speed of response and personal approach is second to none.
I like that Domotz offers a free trial before committing to the service and afterward the subscription is super affordable at only a few dollars a month.
Cons
So far there is really no things that I dislike. It really works OK in my opinion.
Domotz Pro features and functions have opened up a multitude of avenues to exploit while monitoring our edge devices.
Sometimes indicates a device is offline when it is not.
This is more than likely a personal problem, not an issue with the platform.

"We needed an intuitive but robust network monitoring solution"
Pros: As an MSP managing multiple unique networks, we sought a robust solution for network and systems monitoring across a large number of environments. Our critical requirement was that the solution be easy to deploy and intuitive, as we have a large number of staff relying on it daily. Domotz has met our needs exceptionally well. After initiating a proof of concept, it became evident that Domotz would significantly enhance our operational capabilities. The setup was quick and straightforward, allowing us to see immediate improvements in network management and monitoring. Our interactions with the Domotz team have been consistently positive, especially with the account management department. Their proactive approach in ensuring the software meets our needs, coupled with regular updates on new features, is a testament to their excellent customer service. The technical support team is responsive and receptive to feedback, which has been instrumental in refining the product. As new features continue to be introduced, we look forward to seeing further enhancements.
Cons: No obvious downsides. We look forward to seeing what new features and functionality are coming in the future.
"A fair review of Domotz"
Overall: It has been good. The system is easy to use and can be deployed to an average client network in a matter of 30 minutes.
Pros: Domotz provides 24/7 insight into systems on our client networks, captures network topology details, and gives us the ability to remotely manages switches that previously required a remote session with another onsite system. All of this and more at a price that is extremely competitive with Auvik and others. They have good pricing that gets better as you grow your need.
Cons: The setup of virtualized domotz agents, particularly hyperv, is inconsistent, with it not working at all on the latest hyperv virtual networking without more involved intervention into the linux system domotz is running in.
"Domotz has been a game-changer for managing my network and devices remotely."
Pros: Easy remote access, real-time alerts, and comprehensive network monitoring.
Cons: Interface can be overwhelming at first, and occasional latency in device detection.
"Good for MSPs"
Overall: Overall, it's been easy to use and quick deployment versus Auvik which can be very tedious to manage at scale for an MSP.
Pros: Ease of use, templates and prebuilt monitors, reporting.
Cons: Inability to manually adjust network maps (though they said this feature was coming).
"Domotz as my MSPs primary network monitoring solution"
Overall: Domotz meets our requirements for easy-to-use, easy-to-set-up network monitoring very well. The setup-and-forget nature of the platform allows us to allocate more time to assisting our customers, confident that Domotz will alert us if any attention is needed in their network environments.
Pros: As a company committed to efficient network management, we have found Domotz to be a great tool for monitoring our customers’ networking environments. Our focus lies in real-time visibility rather than diving into intricate metrics and statistics. Domotz allows us to assess the overall health of our customers' network infrastructures real time and at any time of the day. Onboarding new customers is effortless.
Cons: For customers with multiple locations and extensive VLANs, we find that the existing licensing structure does not always fully accommodate our expectations. These scenarios often necessitate the use of multiple (licensed) agents and/or coping with additional costs to lift the fixed VLAN limitation per agent.
"Simply & Effective"
Overall: Of all the network monitoring services that I have tested, Domotz is unfortunately the simplest to use with the optimal number of alerts. I am sure Zabbix would be a better solution, but the learning curve is too difficult for a small IT team. I originally was using their remote access tool, but it lacked the necessary security measures for our networks. I do run an additional tool internally for scanning internal assets with greater details, but Domotz does a good enough job for when I am out of the office and need to monitor general health. I believe I could customize Domotz a lot more than I have, but just have not had the time to dig into that side of the service due to workload.
Pros: Simple setup especially for small networks, relevant notifications on app, site device outage alerts, Android app, network health dashboard, constant development
Cons: STP monitoring doesn't work very well, does not support multiple network monitors on same network for redundancy, does not integrate with Tailscale or Twingate, Network Topology is not accurate, does not support linking sites to see outages across multiple isolated networks, frequent service outages, external port security is not accurate
"Domotoz is the network management tool that you need"
Overall: Amazing. working with them and joining the partner program is one of the smarter things I have done.
Pros: price/features/mobile app. All of these allow my MSP to manage all of our clients network equipement
Cons: That you have to set up a new client with an agent. Typically I want to build out all my tools prior, I understand why this is, but maybe I could build them in the portal and link an agent when it gets installed.
"Garland Tech Review"
Overall: Overall I've been impressed with how easy the system is to setup, add your agent, and get visibility on devices very quickly. It integrates with our tool stack simply and provides information there. I'm excited to turn on alerting, so we're able to resolve some alerting issues that are problematic with the native tools we use.
Pros: I love the one price, and that it links up with Unifi. I also like that it'll monitor iDRAC and other ILO devices.
Cons: Doesn't do cloud, non hybrid systems will without a "Domotz Box". It also only runs SNMP scan every 30 minutes, where we used to 5. Costs start to go up radically as you add features that a lot of other products have built in for their price.
"Great network tool for MSPs"
Overall: Theyve been a great true partner to our MSP and we feel they are on our side.
Pros: As an MSP we utilize Domotz to discover and monitor customer infrastructure. Domotz has made it so easy to do this for us. We have a quick deployment that saves us and our customers cost, while providing integration for alerts, ticketing, and monitoring tools. They value their partners and are always willing to engage. Monitoring Meraki and Unifi networks, switches, firewalls, access points, integrating these monitors into tickets in Autotask.
Cons: We had some troubles with agents per network, but was able to resolve this with the team and we are so happy now.
"Domotz is a game-changer for managing my network. It's intuitive and effective."
Pros: The remote monitoring and management features are top-notch. I can monitor and troubleshoot my network from anywhere.
Cons: The interface could be more user-friendly, and the pricing is on the higher side.
"Domotz monitoring"
Pros: ease of deployment and management, reliability.
Cons: I would like to have netflow integration.
"Easy to use full-featured network monitoring Software"
Pros: Friendly user interface on all major platforms including a web app. Easy to set up and to use. Remote connection and a fast and good support
Cons: In the long time using domotz I could not find any.
"Easy & Reliable"
Overall: Very good. I like the product.
Pros: Easy & Reliable.Available on every network NAS OS.
Cons: Pricing is a little high.Sorry, nothing technical I dislike
"Domotz PRO"
Overall: Supporting a network in another city 700 km away means I can't just get in a car to go and reboot a server. Domotz has never failed in allowing me to sort out emerging problems. I get alerted if a new device gets added to the network or when important devices disappear or go offline. Network issues can be monitored and corrected before they become a problem.
Pros: The agent is very simple to configure and this has improved significantly over the years I have been using the product. I seem to recall downloading the software and running install scripts in the early days but current versions can be installed via the SNAP Store for ultimate simplicity and ease of setup. Once installed, a browser is needed to access the agent to configure it to connect to the Domotz cloud. From then on, everything can be configured and accessed from the Domotz apps, anywhere, anytime. The Domotz apps on desktop and iPad offer the same views and actions making it very easy to administer networks.
Cons: Sometimes the speed of operations appear to be slower than I would like however taking into account the scale of complexities that go into providing a secure tunnel between networks across the Internet it is a reasonable compromise.
"Domotz Pro - All the features you need"
Pros: Low time to value. Setup was quick and easy and the process well thought though. SaaS based solution with the only local installs being the agents.
Cons: Cost could be prohibitive for small organisations or for private use.
"There is no better option anywhere near this price point"
Overall: Domotz gives us the ability to monitor remote locations without the expense of needing a tech onsite. When considering the price-point of this software, I can install as many agents as I need without worrying about huge bills that will show up later. Something else that needs mentioning, the customer support is absolutely amazing. I have dealt with enterprise level support throughout all areas of the industry and Domotz really does put all those big guys in a corner. The response time and attention to customer's needs could not be better.
Pros: The client is extremely easy to setup and light weight. The auto-detection has to be about the fastest on the market. Many times I get an alert for a new device on the network before I even realize it has pulled an IP. No matter which level you subscribe to, you would be hard pressed to match this feature set with anything else on the market, and, even if you could, it would not look as nice nor function as well. This platform just flat-out works, and it works very well. Almost everyday I stumble across a feature that I didn't even know existed.
Cons: My only issue, and this may sound ridiculous to many, but, I am somewhat old school; and it often takes me longer than it should to figure out the newer, cleaner software that just did not exist 10 years ago. This is more than likely a personal problem, not an issue with the platform.
"Domotz is part of the team now!"
Overall: This has allowed us to deliver a more proactive service to our customers as well as expand our service offering to things that require more visibility to the network. Overall this has been a great choice and I expect we will continue to expand the use of Domotz.
Pros: The architecture and licensing are simple – one device per site is all you have to worry about. There are many ways to host the agent, but the Domotz Box is a fantastic way to keep things simple – plug and play. It integrates with our PSA, alerting and documentation platforms, which is fantastic. The ability to see what is on a client’s network, whether we manage it or not, is very helpful. Also being able to access those devices without remote access to a PC on site makes life so much easier. It’s a well thought out and effective solution. Most importantly, the support experience has been fantastic. Although I haven’t needed too much in that regard, the few times I have contacted support resulted in very prompt response and resolution. That’s priceless.
Cons: Getting the hardware (Domotz Box) has been a been challenging, but that’s a distribution problem in Canada – I’m sure it’s no problem in the US. Thankfully there are other ways to host the agent. Things are not entirely intuitive at first, but like many things, once you figure out how it’s put together, it makes sense. Some of the integrations are paid, so those costs do add up.
"Great Product"
Overall: Great and quick support. The only issue has been with the alert notifications.
Pros: Easy to setup. We were using other products that were taking way too long to implement per project. Also, like how easy it is to get to reboot functionality. The software does a lot of intuitive things that make sense. For instance, having the ability to reboot a device over POE. It's not the function of this but implementation. It is automatically configured and setup for you. So if a device is POE and on a switch that is supported by Domotz you can just reboot it. No configuration. They also come out with new features all the time. Building on the platform.
Cons: Notifications. They have made progress. But even just the request to group email alerts still hasn't reinstated with the team. Sometimes I can get 50 email alerts on a site at the same time. They have new features that are paid to minimize some of this. But competing products do a much better job of not spamming when you have a widespread issue at a site. A simple combine all email alerts just in a 5-minute window would do a lot for this.
"A Digital, Onsite, Support Engineer!"
Overall: Domotz has helped us to be more efficient with our maintenance and also assists with ongoing installations. We fit a Domotz box as soon as we start on a project now, and even use as a temporary tool to provide fault finding diagnostics when taking over a project.
Pros: We love the various features Domotz offers. The ability to monitor all of the devices on our smart home systems with ease and received notifications as soon as a issue is found. Extremely good interface, much more intuitive than other brands we have used before. Growing list of integration partners. Simple and effective smart phone app for multiple users.
Cons: We have quite a few clients so the costs creep up, but still far cheaper than sending an engineer to site and much quicker in most cases.
"Excellent "now" network monitoring tool"
Overall: I use the box in high value private assets where there is no IT support onsite, this allows me to see and access what is going on. I think it is value for what you get, and happily pay a little more if the IT network monitoring would be more comprehensive and collected data more accessible.
Pros: It's a simple unit (I only use the "Box" version), that you can in matter of minutes setup and integrate into the network. It collects detailed data and depending on the device has very integrated management features. Their customer support is fast and thorough, bending over backwards where they can.
Cons: It's a now product, I like to look at the (recent) history and see if there are trouble patterns, it is hard to extract this from the interface. It also misses (standard, for me) features like network topology. Their "Fingbox" product at this time gives a better monthly report that the pro version. Currently I use another software tool to fullfill these extra features and end up paying double, money that I would pay on Domotz instead!
"Best value for money with stellar support!"
Overall: We use Domotz to manage both our network and all of our clients networks, we use in to monitor any down devices, remote ourselves in and keep logs on the network details. Their support has also been amazing
Pros: The Value for money is absolutely amazing. The software does exactly what you want it to do when managing networks and it does it in a modern and uncluttered style.
Cons: This is definitely not a con but maybe a feature request, I would love to have a ticketing system within Domotz (obviously uplift the price for the feature) this would better allow to manage a network and have device specific tickets!
"The perfect monitoring agent "
Pros: Domotz does what it says on the box and is extremely robust and reliable. Perhaps the most important thing is that their support is second to none and is prompt, easy to understand and solves the problem every time without fail.
Cons: The only con is that sometimes it is hart to find things again after revisions, but, as an evolving piece of technology the new features usually outweigh this
"Domotz - Is good!"
Overall: Domotz has been an extremely useful tool that we use daily to manage our clients networks and associated devices. Integration with Crestron hardware has been fantastic and gives us a single user interface for remote management, access and alerts. It has changed the way we offer customer service.
Pros: I have been suing Domotz since it began and the features it incorporates just keeps growing. They do pay attention to requests and work towards implementing them into their roadmaps.
Cons: The only thing that really bothered us was the constantly changing plan pricing levels. However that has now been eliminated.
"Bomotz as a home user"
Overall: I loved it. It’s a wonderful and well thought of product for home and enterprise use.
Pros: Best part of this solution is the mobile app and realtime notifications.
Cons: Solution must also have the capability to analyze traffic (network flows) and report trends and anomalies. Licensing should be based on the deployment scale instead of features.
"Domotz"
Pros: Easy to use , works on multiple devices would recommend
Cons: None really its a really good application and solution to my requireements
