### "The Ultimate Single Pane of Glass for Scaling & A True Development Partner for Complex Infrastructure"

April 28, 2026

5.0

Domotz has been the single best investment we’ve made for our portfolio-wide rollout (100's of sites, 50k devices). Before implementation, we were trapped in a "multitude of tools" purgatory with zero visibility into critical hardware and unreliable manual inventory tracking. Domotz moved us from reactive firefighting to proactive, data-driven management. We’ve gone from spending $65k a year on "just in case" shipping to pinpointing root causes in minutes. Whether it’s proving ISP underperformance with built-in speed tests or reducing labor through PSA integration, Domotz has fundamentally changed our bottom line. If you are trying to scale a complex infrastructure and are currently operating on disjointed or archaic tools, you are losing money every day you don't have this.

Pros

I’ll be honest: I don’t typically write software reviews. My schedule doesn't usually allow for it, and most tools simply do "just enough" to get by. However, our experience with Domotz has been so transformative, and their team has been such an incredible partner in tailoring development to our specific needs, that I felt compelled to share our story. If you are trying to scale a complex infrastructure, you need to read this. Before implementing Domotz, my company was trapped in a "multitude of tools" purgatory. We were relying on homegrown systems developed over a decade ago that simply couldn't keep up with our growth. We had zero visibility into critical hardware, our inventory tracking was manually dependent (unreliable), and our troubleshooting process often involved "best guesses" that resulted in massive shipping costs and unnecessary subcontractor visits. Domotz has provided us with the elusive "Single Pane of Glass." It consolidated a fragmented tech stack (PBI, UISP, OVRC, various device GUIs, etc) into one streamlined interface. The impact on our onboarding and daily operations was immediate. We went from "diving" into individual devices to having rich, real-time data at our fingertips. The data speaks for itself. Since rolling out the Domotz pilot, we’ve seen astronomical improvements in our operational efficiency: •In 2025, we spent over $65k on shipping for service tickets. We discovered that 61% of returned assets were actually unused, a byproduct of "precautionary shipping" because we couldn't virtually troubleshoot. Domotz has already begun to eliminate this guesswork. •We have saved multiple subcontractor trips by identifying IP conflicts, ISP faults, actual root cause device issues (vs what we thought) instantly. Savings for us in ‘26are forecasted to be in excess of another $75k. •We used Domotz speedtest data to prove an ISP was underperforming at many of our client. Correcting it improved SLA response time, and customer happiness, considerably •Yes I should Mac whitelist my devices, but I’m not there yet, and some idiot is always going to try to unplug my devices and plug theirs in. We’ve already been notified multiple times of unauthorized devices connected to our networks, allowing us to secure ports instantly. •The sheer volume of data Domotz pulls from thousands of endpoints is a goldmine for our operations. We are now ingesting this natively into our data lake to move beyond simple monitoring and into true predictive failure analysis. We are in the early stages of identifying trends and hardware fatigue before they result in a outage. On top of that, their new MCP tool looks to be absolutely amazing and we can’t wait to play with it more. •A bit of a repeat from above, but the most significant shift for our team has been moving from “educated guessing” to definitive root cause analysis. Before Domotz, we were often throwing hardware at a problem, shipping routers or switches just in case, because we couldn't see the full picture. Now, with corollary device data and history, we can instantly pinpoint the failures. This visibility has turned minutes/hours of tedious troubleshooting and log pulls into minutes of precise action, effectively ending the era of precautionary shipping and unnecessary subcontractor visits. •And, akin to the above point, before Domotz, a ticket would generate on our board via our legacy methods for a device/status issue. We would obviously have to monitor that ticket, and even if it “self-healed,” it would still take more than 7 minutes per ticket to document and close it out. But after connecting our PSA up to Domotz, with the native ability to close self-heal tickets, this has reduced ticket volume by 35%. At our scale, that is massive savings. •It’s not just the software…it’s the partnership. Domotz has shown a genuine commitment to our success, helping us build out custom integrations and even adjusting their development roadmap to ensure we remain versatile. Their Sales, Customer Support, Dev and Support teams are knowledgeable, quick to respond, understanding…amazing to work with.

Cons

There is very little to dislike, as the tool has solved nearly every visibility gap we had. If I had to pick something, the sheer volume of data and the depth of the feature set (like the new MCP tool) means there is a learning curve to ensure you are utilizing every "goldmine" of information available. It isn’t a "plug and play and forget it" tool if you want the full ROI, you need to be prepared to actually engage with the data it provides to see the massive financial benefits. The only other CON I have is that new features/UI updates get released without much of a warning. I generally have to scramble a bit to update my procedures and/or train on new functionality.

### "Great network/server monitoring and alerting tool"

November 12, 2025

5.0

The platform has made significant improvements, addressing most previous concerns. Configuration is now easier with templates, and features like custom dashboards, alerts, and a robust SNMP MIB library make monitoring comprehensive. Configuration backups and flexible alerting options add reliability. While RBAC is a promising new addition, it could be expanded further. Overall, it’s a powerful and evolving tool with room for growth in integrations and advanced security features.

Pros

Ease of configuration has greatly improved, especially with the addition of templates. The ability to create dashboards with custom alerts adds flexibility and control. A large built-in MIB library supports robust SNMP monitoring, and configuration backups provide peace of mind. The range of alert options and delivery methods is impressive. Deployment options are numerous. Overall, this is a very comprehensive monitoring tool. I have not used Automations or Scripts but the community indicates this is a useful and impressive tool.

Cons

Most of my previous critiques have been addressed. RBAC is a new feature with potential for further development. There is currently no honeypot option. Integration options for appliance configuration backups are limited. They are a company that is very open to feature additions and improvements.

### "I think Domotz is neat"

November 7, 2025

4.0

My experience has been nothing but positive. Yes, there have been hiccups, but they were not the fault of Domotz. Domotz is an indispensable tool in my toolbox, like a compass guiding a ship in deep water. If you're an MSP, this beats a lot of other network monitoring tools.

Pros

If there was a word I could use to describe Domotz, it is the following: Flexible. Domotz is very flexible and generalistic in its means of network monitoring and management capabilities. I am quite fond if what the feature set enables me to do. For the price it's at? It's a fair trade. If there is one thing I can particularly gush about, it's the interface. I am a busy individual, and as such I DESPISE friction in tasks that I am trying to do. Domotz's interface is clear, intuitive, navigable, and ultimately readable, which cuts down on all of that friction that grinds my gears. It's like having a swiss army knife for network tasks. Never leave home without it.

Cons

I find the network mapping utility to be a little less than ideal, along with a lot of other reporting tools. In particular, the reliance on SNMP means that certain elements of my tech stack simply go invisible. Be warned if embarking on Domotz, Aruba Instant-On devices cannot be monitored with SNMP if you enroll them in Instant-On. While this is more specific to my environment, it does highlight that it may not be for everyone.

### "Intuitiveness of Domotz"

November 7, 2025

5.0

Extremely intuitive and I always recommend to various clients in different industries. The clients love how simple it is as well.

Pros

I like how intuitive the UI is for Domotz. Some companies give you so much to work with that it becomes too much and gets complicated. Domotz makes it easy to setup alerts for specific devices and can see network activity all in one page (or just a click). The reports that exports along with the alerts are very easy to understand and is exactly what I need.

Cons

I didn't like how there wasn't an easy way to export a list of all the devices and their info but I believe they fixed this problem.

### "Easy Deployment and Reliable Performance"

November 13, 2025

5.0

Great monitoring and alerting. No major issues but some more advanced features such as SNMP monitoring had a bit of a learning curve.

Pros

When logging in and selecting a client, it is very easy to get a quick view of all critical devices and their uptime statistics. The UI design, ease of use, and responsiveness is a big plus.

Cons

It would be nice if there were not restrictions on the number and type of VLANs you can monitor per agent. We have larger clients that are not using Domotz specifically because of this limitation.

### "Great tool that really helps solve network issues"

February 18, 2021

5.0

I fix networks and keep them fixed for a living. Having a simple tool that can reach out an touch every device, on every vlan and tell you what it is makes you an invaluable asset to any organization.

Pros

Domotz automatically identifies many devices automatically so you don't have to guess what something is. In addition the tool is so easy to use it takes very little time to become proficient. I had not successfully worked with an API integration before and through the webinars and support I built my own custom dashboard and learned some new skills in the process.

Cons

none really. I try to break it daily and have not succeeded yet.

### "A great remote Network tool for every MSP"

December 9, 2020

5.0

I am completely satisfied with the choice of using Domotz. I am mainly able to whatever I need to monitor my clients’ networks and all the devices connected to them. It definitely enhanced the way our technicians work, and the approach to the networks when dealing with issues. We have decided to use this for all of our clients as a best practice to provide a better service to them.

Pros

This platform is super-easy to use: set-up of new sites to be monitored is a as simple as it should be. We can choose whether to use an existing NAS, a Windows or Linux Machie to scan the local network, as well as deploying a very simple hardware provided by Domotz. The service is very reach of functionalities. We do monitor and manage quite complex networks, and Domotz helps us understanding how the network is shaped (Network Topology Map available in Domotz) or exactly which ports of switches are used by which devices. For instance, this helped us when restructuring a network rack for one of our clients. Moreover, we use daily the Remote Connection functionalities, including the VPN on Demand, to access network devices and perform daily or weekly maintenance of them. The integration with Freshservice has been a life-changer: we are notified directly in our Ticketing System when something happens on the networks of our clients. However, we have not explored yet all the possibilities available in Domotz, even because they continue to enrich the offer with a very high pace.

Cons

The integration with some documentation system (including Freshservice) should be enriched, so that it will be easier for our technicians to have all the information in one place. I would also like to see more network devices to be supported to backup their configuration, but I know their team is working on it.

Reason for choosing Domotz

A much simpler and affordable pricing model. It offers a complete set of features required to remotely manage the networks of my clients.

### "Easy remote monitoring and access"

December 23, 2020

5.0

Highly recommended! For £20 pm you will be hard pushed to find anything better. There are many other remote access products but I have found them to be fiddly or time consuming, not to mention costly. We are a startup so cost is obviously very important to us. Domotz provides exactly what we need, with a simple interface and ease of use.

Pros

Very easy interface, multiple installation options like Ubuntu, Synology and Docker to name a few. Easy setup which allows me to deploy within minutes. Recently deployed three agents to remote locations. The VPN feature allows us to keep full control. A nice touch - the VPN can be configured to access via custom ports. I have a single box solution for a remote customer that is running a Type 1 Hypervisor and multiple VM's and Containers within. I can access everything via the VPN without any human involvement, which given the locations, is a must. I also use the Android app for alarms (I can also access remote devices through the VPN from my phone) and this works well. remember to disable battery control on your Android, otherwise alarms can be delayed. If using SNMP PoE devices, you can power cycle the port on the switch via the web interface or app. It also has great recognition of well known devices and will group them if required. For example, our office has several Samsung Smart TV's as well as Ubiquity network equipment. They have each been grouped which allows for quick access.

Cons

None that hinder my requirements. The map (when using SNMP devices) is quick to populate however, you are unable to modify it's layout or add colour. This would be a nice touch. But this does not discourage my use of the product.

### "Foundation of our Networking Monitoring Solution and Remote Maintenance Packages"

January 5, 2024

5.0

We've used it for over five years now and it is our primary remote management tool for all our sites. Easy to set up and configure and ultra fast in sending notifications.

Pros

Quick and simple to set up. Fast to detect faults or devices dropping offline. Highly configurable. Speed Tests/Ping Tests/Network Topology/Shared Alerts and Notifications.

Cons

It can seem expensive for some our sites that we monitor. However, it's miles ahead of free alternatives.

Reason for choosing Domotz

Faster and more reliable than others. It's critically important we can get ahead of our clients when devices fall offline.

### "Domotz is part of the team now!"

February 13, 2021

4.0

This has allowed us to deliver a more proactive service to our customers as well as expand our service offering to things that require more visibility to the network. Overall this has been a great choice and I expect we will continue to expand the use of Domotz.

Pros

The architecture and licensing are simple – one device per site is all you have to worry about. There are many ways to host the agent, but the Domotz Box is a fantastic way to keep things simple – plug and play. It integrates with our PSA, alerting and documentation platforms, which is fantastic. The ability to see what is on a client’s network, whether we manage it or not, is very helpful. Also being able to access those devices without remote access to a PC on site makes life so much easier. It’s a well thought out and effective solution. Most importantly, the support experience has been fantastic. Although I haven’t needed too much in that regard, the few times I have contacted support resulted in very prompt response and resolution. That’s priceless.

Cons

Getting the hardware (Domotz Box) has been a been challenging, but that’s a distribution problem in Canada – I’m sure it’s no problem in the US. Thankfully there are other ways to host the agent. Things are not entirely intuitive at first, but like many things, once you figure out how it’s put together, it makes sense. Some of the integrations are paid, so those costs do add up.

### "Great Product"

October 29, 2019

5.0

Great and quick support. The only issue has been with the alert notifications.

Pros

Easy to setup. We were using other products that were taking way too long to implement per project. Also, like how easy it is to get to reboot functionality. The software does a lot of intuitive things that make sense. For instance, having the ability to reboot a device over POE. It's not the function of this but implementation. It is automatically configured and setup for you. So if a device is POE and on a switch that is supported by Domotz you can just reboot it. No configuration. They also come out with new features all the time. Building on the platform.

Cons

Notifications. They have made progress. But even just the request to group email alerts still hasn't reinstated with the team. Sometimes I can get 50 email alerts on a site at the same time. They have new features that are paid to minimize some of this. But competing products do a much better job of not spamming when you have a widespread issue at a site. A simple combine all email alerts just in a 5-minute window would do a lot for this.

October 2, 2021

5.0

I’ve been using Domotz for around 2 years. The product has enabled me to set up comprehensive monitoring and alerting of my home network and extensive home automation set up with ease.

Pros

A full-featured monitoring solution with an excellent web and mobile app, the integration with Ubiquiti network kit(including the capability to power cycle PoE devices) and it's VPN capabilities enable you to respond to issues through one unified interface. API enables integration with other platforms with ease, and the customer service is excellent. I can't recommend the product highly enough for the enthusiast/prosumer and for professional use

Cons

### "A very good way to keep track of your networks."

July 8, 2021

5.0

I have been using Domotz Pro for almost 2 years now and my main purpose was to get a good program that could spot new devices popping up in the network to spot strange behavior BUT also to keep track of the status of all my existing "good" devices and see if important ones goes offline. I have tried to find other similar products on the market but have not found one that is as good as Domotz.

Pros

Very quickly spots new devices in the network and also keeps track of what port in the switch it comes through. And also keeps a good view of all the devices and tracks status. Also the software is developed and new smart features and is added on a regular basis.

Cons

So far there is really no things that I dislike. It really works OK in my opinion. The only thing that I do not like is that they have removed the "Lite" version so private persons like myself could afford to use this powerful software. (I have been running the "Legacy Lite plan" at an affordable level for a private user but you could not order that any more) However, apart from that and for businesses I still would recommend this as it is a good software for sure.

### "Network Lifesaver"

May 29, 2024

5.0

Pros

Domotz is very affordable vs. other tools that want a minimum commitment or charge on a per-device model. Their per-site model is excellent. It seems to pay for itself every month when there's an immediate notification of an IP conflict or we need to quickly bounce into the config of a random device that wasn't documented when onboarding a new client. The Domotz box is an awesome inexpensive solution for client sites without a server to host the agent.

Cons

I haven't found a con so far. There are some MIBs that need updating, but support has been very helpful when we've had questions about Domotz.

### "Domotz - Is good!"

May 8, 2020

5.0

Domotz has been an extremely useful tool that we use daily to manage our clients networks and associated devices. Integration with Crestron hardware has been fantastic and gives us a single user interface for remote management, access and alerts. It has changed the way we offer customer service.

Pros

I have been suing Domotz since it began and the features it incorporates just keeps growing. They do pay attention to requests and work towards implementing them into their roadmaps.

Cons

The only thing that really bothered us was the constantly changing plan pricing levels. However that has now been eliminated.

Reason for choosing Domotz

Domotz had a webapp at the time, Ihiji did not. Domotz also had a more open platform for scans. Also their roadmap seemed much more on course for where the high end AV industry is going.
