There is a ton of bad software out there. Mention is the exception. They make media and social monitoring easy, effective, and painless. Their search results are top notch - more comprehensive than competitors for a better price tag. Plus, the UX is really nice, the mobile app is amazing, and the brand has a "fun" feeling. I get a kick out of clicking "monitor the interwebs" every time. Keep up the great work!

Having tried a few listening platforms, Mention was by the far the easiest to use & the crawler was able to grab mentions from much more than just the usual Facebook/Twitter stuff that you get with most other cheap platforms. We saw results from blogs, forums & news that were very local and very relevant to our business.

Pros

easy to use, very good information, it has tools that improve your analysis, you can monitoring many topics.

Cons

I think it have to agregate text mining to content text analysis to identify trends, key words, many others aspects.

Sure a more technical person can scour all over the net for their mentions but if you want to save time and have them done automatically, pulled into a central location, Mention.com the way to go. Plus, they got the perfect domain that actually matches their core competence.

I'm using mention for last few years and can tell it's great tool. Only "problem" could be that if you makes your search too wide, it finds a lot and get your quota down very quickly. It's a little bit tricky, but after a few tests you can use it very well.

Mention is the window not just into the minds but I believe hearts of the users involved in social media. It's the most intuitive interface I know to this day. Do your research--I did--and You'll find out. It's purpose is to filter out any 'dilettante' so the company can focus on real-interested users. That's my guess. If you know how to use data--Mention's gonna be the app to go to.

Pros

Easy to set up campaigns, simple UI yet powerful tool. Serious app.

Cons

Not that many when I put my ego aside and don't mention the price for more than 5 campaigns.
