It can be a helpful tool for Marketing since it is a great way to track, for example, your brand mentions or your service/goods mentions.

Pros

I use Mention as a monitoring service. It is easy to review email alerts, easy to use dashboards. It has a friendly interface and simple navigation.

Cons

Price is too high in my opinion. Third-party integration seems to be not so easy. Has limitations about some social networks.

Ideal solution for a small gadget-startup such as Vitastiq that needs all the help it can get in the media and communications field. We are not a fully-staffed company as of yet and having a tool that informs us about the attention our 'vitamin and mineral status check gadget' gets all over the social media has let us measure our reach and not miss a message from a user or opportunity to say thank you to our supporters.

### "Great tool to monitor your brand across the Internet"

Great tool to monitor your brand and keep track of your reputation online. Also enables us to respond to mentions in a timely fashion.

Pros

This offers a simple way to track where your brand name is being mentioned – so you don't have to keep Googling yourself to find out. Whenever someone does talk about your brand, Mention sends you an email so you can follow up. You can also check the dashboard to get quick daily digest of your mentions and decide how to handle them. Flagging spam or irrelevant mentions has been particularly helpful.

Cons

UI could be optimized more for easier scanning and better navigation on smaller screens. The price is also a bit steep for small businesses but there is a free account you can use if you're just a small company and don't need anything too advanced.

Easy to track keyword mentions and collate data for my class.

Pros

Used it to track conversation around certain keywords for a class I was giving. It was extremely useful in supplying data that I could use in class to demonstrate what sort of conversations were happening around the topic.

Cons

It took me a while to work out how to delete notifications. Also, you can't research past history. It is quite expensive for a paid version.

I enjoyed using this, it actually has a fast learning curve and fulfills all needs when you are keeping track of your growing brand. If you are ready to throw a few bucks in this can be the best brand for you.

Pros

I am able to know who is talking of my brand, get email notifications (Which is not up to the expectations but still good). It also gives you an understanding of the competitive brands and what are they up to. You could actually feed in your tags, key words and it would be able to get you the right brands you have to keep an eye on.

Cons

I used the trial version for some time, since mine is a small home-business brand which is still on growth upgrading is too costly in my view. There is nothing else that I am particularly complaining about this software.

Mention makes it extremely easy to know everything that is said about my brand and my competitors. I connected it to our slack which is very practical.

Cons

No big cons. In the slack integration I'd like to be able to filter our twitter mentions (too noisy).

I use Mention every day fro media monitoring. We apply the filters that we need and this allows to get alerts on the news that are important for our business. I still can't believe we have information from different websites and Social Media platforms in just one place.

Pros

Mention is very easy to use and pretty effective.

Cons

That yo have a limit of publications that sometimes finishes fast.

I've used Mention off and on for a couple of years and just recently upgraded from the entry level package to one of the paid plans. It is easy and intuitive to use and customer support has been great. Start with the free plan and upgrade when you need to :)

We love watching the mentions of Tilt365.com grow every day on Mention capture software. We started out with only a few a day and within a month it got us to focus spreading the word. Now we're up to hundreds a day.

Too pricey to upgrade. We can also do alerts on google for free.

This automated service makes my life easier. It tells me where people are talking about my company online, giving me insight into audience attitudes about us and the opportunity to participate in the discussion if appropriate.

Cons

Since we have an unusual brand name (Notgrass), tracking mentions of our company is easy. If you have more complex tracking needs, Mention can become expensive.

Pros

We used mention when we were much smaller and it was extremely helpful to easily access all of your mentions online. We use it for social media mainly and it's so much easier than manually finding them to reply to consumers!

Cons

Nothing to not like, except we stopped using it a few times when we were smaller due to the price.

I review books on my blog and belong to several 'retweet' groups. So I get numerous emails notifying me of someone @mentioning me. Of course, I want to send them a thank you, or thumbs up. If I have 50 a day, I can go through each individual email...OR...I can find all the mention on, well, Mention! This app saves me a tremendous lot of time! And it's not just for Twitter; you can link up most all the big social media sites.

Pros

I appreciate the free plan option, which is what I use, as my presence is still relatively small. There are also upgrade options that allow for multiple users on one account and all sorts of goodies. When my reach grows bigger, I will definitely be upgrading.

Cons

I can't think of a thing, but have to use at least 20 characters. :p

Pros

The platform was extremely easy to use and the UX was simple and straightforward. Besides that, I'm not sure the platform has a lot to offer for small business owners. Listening software seems so out of date when there are plenty of others out there who can do the same job and more.

Cons

Pricing is a problem. The entry monthly cost which gets you 2 basic alerts, 3,000 mentions, and 1 user. The entire reason to purchase this software is so that you are alerted when someone says something amazing, or something horrible about your brand. So, for Mention to offer their entry product so little, was not a valuable enough offer for me to continue with it.

It’s helpful to know when Greenwich Pantry is mentioned online. We are better able to keep track of of partner activities.

Pros

Easy to navigate. No expertise required.

Cons

This software is very useful. There are no obvious concerns. It mostly does what we need it to do which is simply to get alerts when Greenwich Pantry is mentioned. The rating system could better.
