In a way, not only you learn IF and HOW MANY people are talking about you, but also WHAT are they're saying, which is super useful, especially if you're working for controversial/polarising issues. Cons It's quite expensive as a service, and upgrades get to sky-high prices ,often unaffordable for not-for-profit organizations. So I hated it because I couldn't get it! Review Source LM Lucas M. Pros Easy, quick, objective, good free tools, very well conceived! Cons there is no licence for only one user, only 6. For me is to much and also the value. If it was cheaper I would buy! I work for a PR firm and use it to monitor all of my clients and major announcements, and I like that I can count on it and not miss anything. Also, it's great to have an accompanying mobile app. Cons The user interface could be a little easier to navigate. Sometimes it is slow to manage mentions in bulk, which of course is a huge daily activity in the platform. I also don't like that Boolean search costs more. That seems arbitrary. I have been using Google Alerts for a long time and I should say that it misses a half of mentions you should be aware of. It monitors any mentions in real time, so you'll never miss anything. November 10, 2015 5.0 We use Mention for monitoring our brand on Twitter and other networks and also to handle support requests over various networks. We're a small nonprofit team that builds a platform for a 6k+ large userbase and we've really enjoyed working with Mention so far. The team was as nice as to hook us up with a free of charge plan, and we have found no major flaws so far. Pros One of my main points has to be the awesome statistics page, which pretty much offers anything I'd ever desire from a social media statistics POV. It also really helps to have a 'read' count for tweets that you have/haven't read yet. Cons There's some really weird naming issues going on. I log in on mention.com and get redirected to web.alert.io. But other than that, everything's fine. Review Source RW Roger W. It's incredible to see just how much people are talking about you or your competitors. I love the app the most! I have it on my phone and I get real time notifications about what people are saying. Blows my mind actually. Cons I think that maybe the price is a bit of a downfall for me as I am a smaller company/freelancer. I think it's extremely worth it for bigger companies though.
