My overall experience with Whova was very positive. The app was easy to use and made the event feel more organized and interactive. I especially liked being able to connect with other attendees and participate in event-related conversations in one place.

Pros

Whova made it easy to connect and network with other event attendees. The app was simple to navigate, and the networking features helped me engage with people before, during, and after the event.

Cons

I did not experience any major drawbacks while using Whova. Everything I needed was easy to find and worked well for the event.

### "Helpful and Easy-to-Use Experience for First-Time Attendees"

June 9, 2026

5.0

As a first-time attendee, I found it especially helpful in giving me a clear idea of what to expect throughout the event. The information provided allowed me to feel more prepared and less uncertain about how things would unfold. Having access to details ahead of time made it easier to understand the flow of activities and what I should anticipate. It helped reduce any initial confusion and gave me more confidence in navigating the experience. Overall, it served as a useful guide that made my first experience smoother and more comfortable, allowing me to focus on fully participating.

Pros

It was easy to navigate and made the overall experience smooth and efficient. I especially appreciated how clearly the layout was organized, which helped me find everything I needed without confusion. It was also very helpful to have access to the schedule, as it allowed me to stay informed and prepared for upcoming activities. Having that visibility made it much easier to plan ahead and manage my time effectively. Overall, the system felt user-friendly and practical, and it provided helpful information in a way that was simple to understand and use. I found it to be a valuable tool that supported my needs well.

Cons

I did not experience any significant drawbacks while using Whova. Overall, the platform was easy to navigate and provided all the information I needed in a clear and organized way. If anything, there were only very minor areas where I needed a moment to explore certain features, but nothing that interfered with my experience. Everything functioned smoothly, and the layout made it simple to locate schedules, updates, and event details. Overall, my experience was positive, and I found the app to be helpful and efficient without any notable concerns or frustrations during use.

### "Whova- who cares?"

August 18, 2025

2.0

It was difficult to send customized messages to buyers and register attendees. Whova lacks flexibility and pushes for more sales and self-promotion. The purpose of technology and automation is to save time. Instead, we spent a significant amount of time trying to make the system function properly and addressing problems that our buyers/attendees were having.

Pros

I was able to reach local support when issues arose, but problems arose often. The system processed all the sales, but that's where the problems started.

Cons

Required fields were bypassed-creating shipping issues as mailing addresses (which had to be manually added) were not collected. Buyers were not registered as attendees and managing a group of attendees was difficult. The system is not intuitive nor easy to work with. A list of buyers can be downloaded but is not formatted to be imported to send out emails for further instructions. The email options in other cases are canned Whova messages that cannot be edited, and create confusion among event attendees because they're so poorly worded. This is a poorly thought-out system, which is busy trying to do everything but skips the basics.

Event Brite would not allow the buyer of a group of tickets to assign a ticket to their guests. Whova claimed this would be easy.

### "Whova - Best Conference Management App"

April 28, 2026

5.0

Whova is excellent for commication with event attendees, vendors and speakers. There are many modules to make the experience outstanding for the all that attend. Whova has leaderboards, photo contests, speaker management module, agenda management you can link to your tickets. It also provides you with a front facing website you can land on for your event branding.

Pros

Whova is excelling in managing the overall conference, from call for speakers to assigning vendor booth locations. It provides you with great communication tools, along with many attendee enhancements.

Cons

The system is a little pricey, however, based on what you get it has proven to be worth it. Small learning curve.

### "Great App for Conference Attendees"

July 30, 2026

5.0

I used Whova as a conference attendee and found it to be a convenient way to manage the event. Having the agenda, session information, presentation materials, and attendee messaging all in one place made it much easier to stay organized and get the most out of the conference. I would be happy to use it again for future events.

Pros

Whova made it easy to keep track of the conference schedule, bookmark sessions I wanted to attend, and access presentation materials. I also found it useful for connecting and communicating with other attendees throughout the event.

Cons

Some features take a little time to get familiar with, and there can be a lot of notifications during busy conferences. Other than that, I had a positive experience.

### "A Powerful Tool, But Requires a Steeper Learning Curve for First-Time Users"

June 17, 2026

5.0

As a new user navigating Whova without an orientation, I initially found the feature-dense interface and high notification volume overwhelming. The lack of an introductory walkthrough created a noticeable learning curve for tracking simultaneous sessions and locating specific communication tools.

Pros

Whova serves as an excellent platform for public health events by streamlining stakeholder networking and collaboration through its intuitive community board and participant profiles. It centralizes complex training schedules and program agendas, ensuring seamless communication even in low-connectivity settings. Furthermore, its interactive polling and live Q&A features significantly enhance participant engagement, making health workshops and program reviews far more collaborative and impactful.

Cons

Make it professional While Whova is highly effective, the platform has a few notable drawbacks. First, the volume of in-app alerts and chat notifications can quickly become overwhelming. Additionally, first-time users frequently face a minor learning curve navigating the busy, feature-dense interface.

### "User-Friendly App"

July 7, 2026

5.0

I used it throughout each day of the conference and was always able to find what I needed, including maps and access to conference announcements. I would recommend this app to other conference organizers.

Pros

It was easy to navigate, had opportunities to engage and network, and allowed presenters and attendees to connect about a session.

Cons

I liked everything about the app, as it was easy to use and navigate. I did not have any issues with this app.

My overall experience with Whova was positive. The platform was easy to use, well organized, and made it simple to access event schedules, speaker information, announcements, and session materials. The networking features also helped me connect with other participants. Overall, it enhanced my event experience by keeping everything accessible in one place

Pros

The centralized event information, easy navigation, networking features, and real-time updates made it simple to stay organized and engaged throughout the event.

Cons

While Whova was helpful overall, some features were not immediately easy to use for first-time users and required extra time to locate.

### "Engaging, use-friendly app!"

June 23, 2026

5.0

The Whova app made it easy to engage with people, the agenda, and activities for the conference. I also appreciated being able to use it on my desktop.

Pros

The app is easy to use and creates a quick and engaging way to connect with other attendees and conference organizers. I also appreciated being able to quickly access the conference agenda.

Cons

I liked everything about Whova! I can't think of anything that I didn't like. No further recommendations.

### "Made The Whole Thing MORE Memorable"

July 21, 2026

5.0

Pros

The app definitely heightened my experience of the event. The cost is nothing to use as an attendee. It made my first time at this conference an absolute blast. And I got to meet and connect with so many amazing people, and the app helped with all of that. The fact that I can continue to interact with them for some time afterwards as well is simply a bonus. I had no issues, so customer support wasn't even necessary. It was easy to use, and there are great resources to figure it out if you have any difficulty. It helped, as a speaker, to manage the event and drive engagement. Our breakout session appeared to be the conference favorite, and I credit Whova for making that a reality. I had no bugs or issues, so there's nothing to report on that side.

Cons

Nothing at all. It worked flawlessly for me. And even if I did have problems, there are copious resources to guide me to the solution.

### "My Phone Experience"

March 31, 2026

4.0

I'd say it was pretty good. You'd be well served by making the messaging better known... ADD phone notifications! I kept asking people at the conference if they had gotten my message and they had not because they didn't open the app and see it. I'd like it to pop-up as a phone notification. What good is a message sent that isn't seen until way after it's relevant?

Pros

I like seeing the Event Schedule, picking my events, getting session alerts, seeing the floor plan(map), AND best of all the instant messaging conference and session attendees.

Cons

Navigation within the phone Graphical User Interface. I felt like I had to look around to find things like the floor layout a lot. What I don't like is this response interface I'm typing into right now. It has, for each box, a minimum number of characters it allows and it shows in in the form of a fraction. I was confused and shortened each of my messages to fall below 100 characters only to come back and have to add back in to make this review process work. Below each box it should state 100 Characters Minimum: (#CharCount). That makes it way easier to understand(intuative). It only explains it after you try to submit... (Minimum of 100 characters not met). Here's my experience. I saw the fraction and I didn't even proceed to read "min." I'm just used to having to fix a response to fit into a limited context, I went into auto-pilot when filling this in.

### "Review and feedback"

May 27, 2026

5.0

Organizers of an event should rely on the platform and should not go into side communications. So, for example, while WHOVA has most of the features and capabilities, I have observed event participants sharing resources with other platforms. This means the Whova events don't provide all the necessary resources in one place. Maybe integration with potential other platforms should be considered.

Pros

Whova is very interactive, organized, and easy to use. It helps speakers put all necessary resources in one place.

Cons

I have been informed very late about using Whova for the event. I think it should be arranged as early as possible because speakers have everything they need in the same place, and it would help them prepare. Whova should be part of the preparation for an event. When creating a poll, I was forced to create one by one. I am not sure if that is how the respondents saw it, but I would prefer is I could design the poll form at once with a preview capability.

### "A great tool for all your conference needs!"

November 4, 2025

5.0

Using the app made it much easier for me to get general information about the conference, sign up for specific sessions I wanted to attend, and complete feedback surveys. It was also a great tool for connecting and socializing allowing me to get to know other conference attendees by completing profiles and responding to fun polls. I would highly recommend this app both for its practical and logistical features as well as the ability to connect and network with your peers.

Pros

I appreciate the many interactive features of the Whova app. I attended a conference with professionals in the social services industry and the Whova app was a great venue for connecting with folks from different organizations across the country! It allows for scheduling meet ups based on shared interests, there are great getting to know you features like answering a fun icebreaker question, and you can easily navigate the logistics of an event using features like your agenda, post-session surveys, and building maps.

Cons

I wanted to use the notifications feature to be able to track any important announcements related to the conference I attended. I found the number of notifications to be overwhelming, and I wasn't able to easily find the information I was looking for. It would be nice if you could identify specific notifications you want to receive rather than seeing all updates in all areas of the app (i.e. leaderboard, photos, polls, etc).

### "Effective, focused and Efficient"

May 5, 2026

5.0

Excellent overview for a hybrid virtual and in-person conference - I really felt connected to material and other attendees, and learned a lot.

Pros

I like that the entire conference is available in one platform - webcasts, conference materials, reference materials, the networking opportunities, and found that having a click-through agenda with a "my notes" and "my agenda" section was really useful. I can tag events to watch again later, or if I was double- or sometimes triple-booked with classes I wanted to see but couldn't due to scheduling conflicts, I can get back to them instantly.

Cons

I don't think the app is near as good as the desktop or laptop web portal, and I wish the functionality were similar with both. It's good, but not great. Phones are a limiting factor for sure.

### "Connect with Whova!"

June 2, 2026

Great! I enjoyed the interactive setup of this app. You have milestones to reach to earn points, which prompts you to get connected and enagaged.

Pros

Event Management, reminders, security, easy to use, and overall great to keep everything in one location.

Cons

Sometimes you would be prompted that there were new items, and there were none, such as messages, and community messages.

### "Great Conference/Event Companion!"

May 1, 2026

5.0

I used Whova for both of the FVMA conferences I attended. I liked being able to create my schedule of events as well as seeing which of my fellow team members were attending. The open forums and ability to take notes on the app are also amazing!

Pros

The app is super easy to use. I can find all of the information I need regarding scheduled events/conferences at one easy click. I love also being able to see who else is attending in my direct network as well as other people that might be great to meet.

Cons

I can't think of anything I didn't like about Whova. It's a great app- I also love how I get updates after events.

### "I had a lot of fun!"

February 10, 2026

5.0

Overall it was actually fun and a great tool to know what was happening and when. What sessions I needed to be at and what sessions were available.

Pros

If launched successfully and gamified it can be a lot of fun. I've been to a lot of trade shows and conferences and the most important part is the Agenda and being able prior to the event choose your own adventure based on the sessions. The gamification for our internal team made it fun to engage and "level up" by interacting with other team members, meeting new people, and compete.

Cons

I was a user and I suppose the only thing I didn't like is I looked at "My Agenda" on night vs the entire agenda and missed breakfast because I thought a session started at 9 but it started at 8. User error but made for a bad day.

### "I love My Agenda"

May 5, 2026

4.0

Great, second conference I've used it for. I really enjoy the agenda portion and being able to add things to "My Agenda."

Pros

Seeing the agenda so I know what all sessions would be offered and then being able to add those agenda items to "My Agenda" so I could stay more focused on my day.

Cons

The map links weren't working so it made it a little harder to find the sessions rooms. Also, I think it is fun to have interaction with the app but the points part made some people post a ridiculous amount of things just to earn points. It got a little too chaotic.

### "TCSG GOAL/RPA"

April 28, 2026

I like it but there is always room for improvement. Perhaps add hotel information, maps, registration for conference, one stop type shop. Also highlights of what to see and do and where NOT to go.

Pros

Everything in one place, ease of navigation, ease of use, message platform, games, competition, paperless

Cons

No information about specific breakout sessions (group, room, etc). It would be nice to have a little more specific information regarding these breakouts

This app is good to keep you informed about the agenda for the conference and the day. you can choose what classes you want and a reminder. Good to have.

Pros

I could see everything class and time for the day on my agenda for that day! Maybe you could have it highlighted and follow the times when the class is over that way you know where you are at in the day with classes? Brings you to the next time and class for that day?

Cons

It was good if you had purchased the internet package on the cruise but if you didn't it was hard to pull up and wasn't updated. Not really your issue. However most people did not get the internet package.

Pros

The numerous ways to connect with others and organize networking opportunities. I thoroughly enjoyed Whova. The scheduling, customizability, and adding to Google Calendar were very helpful for me.

Cons

I was only able to add links to documents in the description of the presentation I gave. It would have been nice to have a section in the description that allowed the uploading of documents instead. Also, the Poll descriptions were too limited, and more functionality would be appreciated.

Whova end up being an extremely useful tool during the 61th meeting of the Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation. I was able to organize my schedules and meet-up with potential collaborators thanks to the app. The conference wouldn't be the same without the help provided by Whova app.

Pros

It is a very complete and intuitive application. To be able to create my own agenda, through the full agenda, was great since it help me to optimize my time and be on the talks and poster's I was interested in. The ability to connect with other ateendes through the chat was also great. Sincerely, my experience at the conference wouldn't have been as good without the app, and this has been one of the best conferences I've been in my life.

Cons

Pros

Cons
