Pros

Was able to find my event, create my agenda and able to take notes and being able to share them with co workers.

Cons

That is does not save the notes automatically, while using the app on my smart phone, I switch to another app and when I returned to the notes section it was lost.

Pros

The ap really helps to get to showcase the full program, give access to all sessions, connects with speakers and participants, chat and address your questions.

Cons

In the beginning you might get a little lost, but once you get it, it works fine.

I did not have a dislike with Whova. My only complaint was when sessions had too many people attending the conference did not notify anyone.

Pros

I liked that it was user friendly and set up in a way that you could "experience" the conference from afar.

Cons

I was confused by the chat section at first and did not know the difference between Q&A and the chat section.

It is a great platform to host virtually events.

Pros

The desktop version is the best. It allows you to watch the event and to be able to chat and interact at the same time.

Cons

The thing I like least are the Apple and android apps. They don't give you the same user experience as the desktop version. Can't watch and use the chat at the same time.

Pros

Whova had the best pricing in comparison to other virtual conference platforms while still offering more features. The backend organization for an event is relatively easy to learn and makes it easy to contact exhibitors, speakers, and sponsors

Cons

Some lack of clear instructions/marketing for sponsors and exhibitors to fully understand the platform; I had to design myself

My company used Whova for a national conference to share best practices and company updates. Overall it ran smoothly and it was compatible with Zoom.

Pros

I liked that users could create their own events or threads to talk with other users- very accessible!

The amount of notifications was a little overwhelming.

Same as at Pros. I liked that it is simple to use, easy and structured well; you can do it by trying.

Pros

I liked that everything is in one place. You can see the agenda, the participants, chat with others, see anouncements, add elements that are interesting for me on the agenda, share photos etc.

Cons

It does not work properly without wifi. When you share photos, you can not turn the photos (for example if it was made on a side, you cannot turn it to make it vertical in the application).

It was good, I got all I needed to prepare for my conference all in one app on my phone which made it easy and organized for me to find anything I needed to know.

Pros

It helped me engage with people who were attending the same conference I was. I liked the option to create small boards to engage with people with the same interests and that all our conference schedule was available in the app instead of in a piece of paper.

Cons

It was a little confusing at first to understand how it worked and what all the buttons in the app did or even where to find things I was looking for. But after a few minutes of playing with it, I got a hold of how it worked.

Worked well and if have an opportunity to be part of a team setting up an online conference would look into using it.

Pros

What areas I used were well organized. There were other activities, like social events, could have participated in but was not able to do so.

Cons

It was hard to navigate sometimes. Was able to figure out what I needed but was never straight forward I thought. Might be a video or user guide video that was available that might have been useful to watch. I did not look for one. When used for a webinar conference and you are a new user, when you sign up to use the app automatically get a user video link. Maybe there was one, but did not find or use it.

Good for conferences. Would also be great for teaching online. The grading and other bumpf of learning management systems like Blackboard and Moodle are pretty useless. They integrate poorly with Zoom or other things like Microsoft teams, Google groups, WebEx. It would be easier to teach with Whova than with Blackboard or Moodle.

Pros

I have managed Zoom raw for teaching, with breakout rooms and large audiences. It works OK, but is a lot of work, attendees can get lost and must be combined with learning management software which is a big communication job with Excel csv files as intermediaries. So Whova adds value in ease of use for attendees. With very little extra, it would be useful for teaching.

Cons

I do not like the false enthusiasm and leaderboard and all the useless notifications. Not appropriate for professional conferences where we all know each other anyway.
