Easy to use, plenty of variation and creativity to implement into any directory idea while possessing a support team that is first-rate! I give them 5 stars and suggest everyone give them a shot! Pros The impressive qualities of eDirectory are numerous! I loved the rating system, the various ways you can add value to the customer while creating multiple revenue streams. After using free trials on various competitors I found eDirectory to be the most user friendly while also having a support staff ready and willing to help answer any questions or concerns. Customer service is key when running a business and getting bumps ironed out. eDirectory customer service is top-notched! Cons As with any software, the learning curve takes time but not nearly as much time as other applications that became so frustrating that I quit using them within 48 hours. In a matter of months we've created a directory that far exceeds any of the competitors that have been in the marketplace for years. I would not want to compete against this directory. Pros great feature set. well thought out. incredibly easy to use. short time to market. tech team available with knowledge of product so minimal startup costs. clear consideration for seo was given to creation of directory. low cost. purchase code option allows for invisibility and sale of company in the future. improvements made to one directory can be "ported" over to new directories. Cons extremely limited communications at startup. a walk-through by a learned employee would have been invaluable. A user guide even would have been nice. capabilities of team unknown and therefore limit requests. severe difference in customer service between continents. coordination with graphics, css, and dev team still undetermined. development work very slow and timelines missed by large amounts. tech changes often cause issues to primary system which have to be rewritten (css written over, etc.). data input should have duplicate checking and also be more "bulletproof". rollbacks generally delete active accounts. signup process difficult and lengthy. I will do whatever I can to fight this ridiculous company and I will use all my social media influencers to also let the world know the scam they run. If they had any business acumen and any type of integrity they would have zero problem issuing a refund for a product that doesn’t work. However, when you scam people the only thing you can do is hold their money because you know they won’t come back. Pros What I like about this software is they have a very flashy and fake website that leads you to believe you can obtain an affordable directory solution. Cons The company is a complete scam and they don’t offer refunds unless you cancel within 48 hours. This is impossible to determine if their product works or not and they scam you by thinking to can use it for multiple purposes. When you try to get a refund they push you to several different “phony” employees and pretend they care, but give you a million reasons they can’t offer a refund. They don’t stand behind anything instead they offer you solutions to pay even more money to allow them to help you use their worthless software. Reason for choosing eDirectory Because my lead designer thought it was good, but he quickly realized once we tried it on our server it is GARBAGE. Review Source JN Jay N. Using the tool itself is an overall a very good experience. Pros eDirectory had all the key things I was looking for. Core feature set we need. Ease of use. The page and listing template editors are especially nice. The customer service has been exceptional. They attended to every need promptly and friendly. There were a few things that we needed urgently and they are able to do that with customizations at a reasonable cost. Cons Still has some development needed on the back end user features. Needs some more editable pages and widgets in their customization tools. Still was way ahead of the competitors we reviewed. From the initial sales consultation, to demonstrations, to customer support - the entire process has been a breeze. The availability of customizations for the software by the eDirectory team takes the burden off our own technology department and has made the move to their platform easy and cost effective. I'm excited to see how we can expand our use of this system. Cons I wish that I had a little bit more control over the visibility and movement of different components on the listing page. The product is highly customizable, based on open-stack, packaged with excellent guides (online, offline, videos etc) and support team (available round the clock ) to listen your voice and dealing with that in a highly professional manner. The development team who supported our customization request was very professional and flexiable. We had a number of issues (e.g. different browsers i.e. Edge bahaving differently than other browswers and sometimes showing warning messages) during our inital setup however they were always there to help sorting out these issues. Very much impressed. The technical architecture of the product seems quite robust offering better performance attained through use of latest technology standards such as elasticsearch and caching techniques. Highly recommended product and it offers a package of various custom modules as well targeted to solve specific chllanges. " March 23, 2021 1.0 I would not waste time or money with this shady company! Very disgusted with the outcome and waste of time and resources. Pros There is nothing that I like about this product Cons The customer support is lacking-almost non existent. They did not provide any fixes and when we had to reach out to the salesman, \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\], to get any follow up. The program is broke in several ways and if you can't fix it you have wasted your money. The simplest things like the search feature doesn't even work! When we finally had enough and requested a refund they denied it and also admitted in an email that the reason they have lacking support is due to COVID, but sorry tough luck! Owner Used the software for: ### "eDirectory Review " February 17, 2010 4.0 I have a very successful site built using eDirectory from day one, beginning back in June 2007. I am happy with the system and would recommend it rather than building a system from scratch which is very costly and takes a lot of time. Nor would I penny pinch with a cheaper system that would not be as reliable and not have the features you will want. Pros This is really a comprehensive system with many optional modules. A major benefit in my opinion is the extraordinary internal linking throughout the directory, which from an SEO standpoint is wonderful. And the internal links are automatic. Also the ability to easily add as many categories, and levels of sub-categories helps in displaying the items in your directory, plus gives many more pages to be indexed by the search engines. Cost wise this is the system to get - there is value in this product. Cons I have had several customization jobs completed over the years and most have been very satisfactory and some even excellent but you do get different teams working on these over the years and some are not as good as others. Pros I have searched a lot before deciding to choose eDirectory for cypruslikethis.com. I has proved that my choice has been spot on. This software is really more than just a directory. Implementation has been long since I have done a lot of customizations to the software, but even with this the team that has been assigned to me managed to do everything I have asked from them. People with highly technical skills indeed. Something very important: after the completion of the customizations I have had all the support I needed for fixing any bugs or making any necessary adjustments to the software. Cons eDirectory is a serious piece of software, packed with lots of features. It should satisfy the needs of many as is. Owner Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "All in all a rip off" July 29, 2018 1.0 Pros I do like the fact it does what it says, it's a fairly basic directory system. Unfortunately what I liked about it, which was that the software was frequently updated and improved, I could not get. This means I am stick with an old out of date system. Cons The software is incredibly buggy. The custom development is of exceptionally poor quality and also the customisation team provide lazy and dishonest their quotations. They also did not provide me with the critical information that I would not be allowed upgrades if I had any custom development done. For me to get the upgrades I would need to pay more that I originally paid for my orginal customisations. They also wanted to pay AGAIN for upgrades I commissioned that were part of my orginal customisations. It is certainly not value for money. The eDirectory team care little for your actually requirements or you as an individual, they only care to make a quick buck. I would avoid where possible. Review Source LS Lev S. If I don't place a comment within 24 hours of receiving this email, I won't get a 100 dollar credit towards training, so there you go. My questions were answered, and it was obvious that the sales person who helped me, mastered the software's capabilities a while ago. My only recommendation would be that they take a little more time to understand the customer's business model, and contour their demo around how the software can support it. Otherwise, why not just make a video of the software's features, and leave it there. Though the software is "out of the box", the customers business model may not be. But I was very impressed with everything I saw in the demo, the sales person was great, and I'm excited to move forward and create my directory. If it's got what you want, buy it. Pros During the last year we have looked at, purchased or spent time working with at least a half dozen software directories. We have hired programmers in the U.S., India, Hong Kong and the Eastern Block in the hope they could make these directories work. It has been incredibly costly and time consumming. The frustration meter was perpetually in the red zone. eDirectory appeared to have most of what we wanted so we took one more shot. It was a great move. In simple terms, the program works! It does a ton of things and has incredible features. As importantly, the company is staffed by professionals. There is communication and follow up by everyone. We have requested multiple software revisions. The eDirectory programmers have been on time and on budget. They clearly care about their product which means they care about our product. They just wouldn't resolve basic issues that we were sold such as the search function not working like we needed it to and setting up payments is still a struggle. We decided since we are 3 months in without a working product we are cancelling service, and of course now they are stalling and saying "I had to send the request to Upper Management" and that was a week ago. Funny thing is, "upper management" was included on the cancel emails with their \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] Pros What we were sold would have been nice if it actually worked and we received any timely support which we did not. Cons Support. We would wait weeks to get a response from their support team. I liked the mobile app building option and which was the single most compelling feature of eDirectory helped me to decide. Cons Wow! the prohibitively high price was the stumbling block for years! at a fraction of this cost we can get other php directory scripts if you can compromise on some of the features. Final Word If your directory project is a hobby project there are other good scripts available.
