Pros

What my teachers enjoy most about this software is the ease of being able to send photos to communicate with families.

Cons

I’m not a big fan of the way photos have to be taken and then sent out. I wish photos could be taken on the tablet camera and then uploaded to the app.

Pros

We love the phone app, the storyboards and the portfolios. Everything is easy to use and families love it.

Cons

It isn't as flexible as we would like- would love to be able to insert bullets, italics, etc.

Most of my teachers are pleased with Kaymbu and are starting to use them more for storyboards.

Pros

As an administrator, I love using the storyboard feature for my monthly family newsletters.

Cons

There are glitches when you save items. Sometimes it doesn't save right away and the message that pops up saying there is another version of the document is confusing (you don't know which version it's referring to). Also my pictures don't alway fit correctly in the storyboard formats. I wish there is a way to do page breaks on storyboards so when teachers print the storyboards they are easier for them to display. I would love to be able to download all of a child's pictures at the end of their time in our program to give it to parents but currently we can only do 30 at a time.

The evaluation part was the most serious lacking. It was hard to get teachers to take pictures and tag, and when reviewing a child's progress, there was gaps - not because the student didn't engage in a particular skill, but there's no structure/timeframe.

Pros

The layout and design is well developed and easy to use.

Cons

There are technical limitations. For example, once students leave the program, reports become inaccurate. You can't, for instance, capture what the attendance was for the past month, because students who left part way through are no longer included, and do not show up in the report even for the days they attended prior to leaving.

We are new to Kaymbu this year and have a wonderful experience so far. We have had so much great feedback from parents and teachers about the information and ease of use. Our parents feel more informed, our teachers have an easier time compiling developmental progress information, and we are very pleased with the experience so far. We look forward to new features and updates in the future and can't wait to see everything that is in the works.

We love being able to quickly communicate with our parents and send home information on a daily basis without having to write everything down. Parents LOVE the pictures we can send them and the fact they get instant info through email/text.

Pros

My parents love seeing pictures of their students’work, captions that document what the student was doing and the fact that it can be saved and shared with them online! The customer support quickly responds and is very helpful. This is my second year using the program and I have had great results.

Pros

It is a great way to document and keep track of my students’ progress and share with parents at conferences.

Cons

Not a lot of display choices ( background colors or clip art) for portfolios.

Pros

I love how easy and intuitive it is. I love that you added the Lesson planner feature, it’s very useful. Kaymbu has made it easier for me (manager) and the teachers to stay in touch and integrate parents more adequately into our daily life with the children.

Cons

I’d like to have the lesson planer available on the iPhone version too. The daily notes app never worked for us and noone could tell why. On one of the macs we’re not able to see moments and the customer support had no idea here too, though \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] is always very polite and eager to help.

I am the preschool office administrator and am often in a Storyboard at the same as a the director or a teacher. It is annoying that we can not collaborate on the Storyboard. It would be helpful if when more than one person is working on the same Storyboard we could see each other's work, as in a google doc.

A huge improvement over my past system. It made writing my conference assessments this year much easier. And, I could easily see growth and changes in my students over the first half of the year.

Pros

I love how easy it is for me to upload photos, add documentation to those photos, and then organize them for easy reference in the future. I use photos to document my students' progress, and it was always so cumbersome to organize them. Now, I set up Story Boards for each student and use those to store the information. And, I can attach tags like "Outdoor Play" or "Classroom" so I can easily search the photos. Finally, I use a set of story boards for each student to share artwork with the parents that I am saving at school.

Cons

I wish there wasn't a limit on the number of story boards I can have, even with the paid subscription. I would love to have one board per student per month, but that puts me over the limit quickly.

The ability to communicate with parents easily! Documentation of the classroom through moments! Storyboards are very user friendly.

Cons

The limited formatting options when sending messages e.g. bolding, underline, font sizes. We wish editing a grouped moment would easier. We wish we could tag moments to lesson plans created.

For a very small price you could daily storyboards of your kid as young as preschooler, pictures for the whole year etc. This is available on almost any type of interface.

Cons

Even though it is small charge but over the number of kids and time it does add up. I wish they have it for free.

Pros

We like the ease of use and the fantastic support we receive from the Kaymbu team.

Cons

We sometimes have issues with the devices where the app has to be reloaded. It does not take long, but does throw a wrench in our daily operations.
