My overall experience with BEAM has been positive. The platform does what we need it to do.

Pros

The structure of the software is user-friendly. There are many things that the software does well, such as allowing sub-admin access to specific users, file sharing through the file exchange feature, buildable resource libraries, simple uploading process.

Cons

The reporting tool of the site seems like a missed opportunity. The tool is clunky and it's not easy to compare items within a specific library to one another. I have a lot of stakeholders that would benefit greatly from an automated usage report and/or being able to compare one campaign to another. It would also helpful to see how access/downloads change over time. We also have 6 entities that make up our Brand Center. It would help the user experience if you could be on a specific page in one entity and be able to switch to another entity and stay on the same page for the new entity.

Reasons for choosing BEAM

We have chosen BEAM over other platforms because BEAM allows for us to create forms within the platform. Additionally, the Help Desk feature is absolutely essential for us and we love that feature that BEAM offers us.

Pros

The software is built by brand experts which means they have features that other platforms don't have or haven't thought of. For example, the helpdesk, access for vendors, showcase, user level analytics were unique to BEAM. Other vendors that positioned as brand management tools were really asset management.

Cons

The software is built by brand experts, which means they don't seem to be experts in software, QA or project management. In theory they know what will work well and what people need but the CMS is catching up and development is not always on schedule. We've been frustrated by the lack of transparency and follow through in this regard, as well as some expected functionality or seemingly simple customizations.

From a personal point of view, I find the BEAM platform very easy to use. Despite being offered tutorials in how to use it, I was able to jump straight in to it and navigate myself around without any problems.

Pros

Having just launched a new brand identity at our organization, BEAM made our launch more successful and helped us to reach and engage employees more quickly and efficiently. By improving the distribution model, it has enabled them to find and use the right messaging, tools, and assets. This has largely eliminated the brand inconsistency issues that were a problem in the past. As part of the team that manages brand, it has also allowed us to focus our time on more important tasks as part of our day job. We're no longer processing individual requests for logos or image files now that all employees have access to what they need when they need it.

Cons

I don't fully understand the reports and exactly how they are built. I would also like to be able to share assets via a link on a one-off basis to people that don't have access to the full site.

Having used BEAM for some time now, I continue to be happy with how it works and how well it scales to fit our particular needs. All of our brand assets are organized and presented in a way that makes it easy for users to quickly find exactly what they're looking for. The file exchange is a particularly popular feature. With restrictions on sending large files via email, the brand center offers an extremely useful solution for sharing assets across departments. As an administrator, my time is no longer spent repeatedly fielding requests for individual assets when I can simply point them to the brand center and allow them to self-serve from a collection of approved materials. All this combines to maintain a consistent brand identity. The customer service provided by Monigle is excellent. They are always responsive and quick to resolve any issues. I have absolutely no complaints.
