Pros: I love how simple it is to add an assignment, punch in the numbers, and have the computer do all the crunching for me.

Cons: I don't understand why I am limited in the changes I'm allowed to make (renaming a class, making it show up on report cards, etc.) The support staff is excellent and very friendly, but I don't understand why I have to go through them for what seems like simple changes. Then again I'm not a computer genius so maybe the change is more complicated that it seems

It's been a great tool for us.

Pros: The ease of accessing student & parent information.
And the ease of the communication module has become a life line for us for parents, especially during the fire disaster that has effected our community.

Cons: We don't like that we can't select what parents can & can't see if we open up the parent module. We would also like to have more characters for text msging.

Pros: I like that it is user friendly once you have been trained on how to use each module. I also like that parents can update certain information and that report cards can be sent out electronically.

Cons: Would be nice to have an online video on how to use the different modules for a teacher, a parent, and an admin. Like one video for each user that will train them in one session. The only other thing would be to make it possible for an admin to go in and view/change a parent, teacher, and student passwords when they get locked out or are just starting to use the program.

Overall: Everything is online at the touch of a button. You do not have to be at the school to look up information.

As a unique private charter school we are finding MSP not as adaptable to our needs as hoped.

Pros: Customer Service: It has been most useful to have a representative assigned to our school who knows our idiosyncrasies. Although we cannot readily reach her by phone, she responds to emails very quickly and addresses issues in a timely manner. Training sessions/webinars are individualized and very helpful. Our representative has gone "above and beyond" expectations to make sure our questions are answered.
Assignments and Grade book: Our teachers are very happy with the ease of inputting assignments and grades, as well as with associated features.

Cons: Templates: Report card and transcript templates are very inflexible. The software limitations on how grades are displayed on report cards was not fully explained prior to our sample report card submission, after which we were "stuck" with templates that did not work well for us. Transcripts need to be able to show more than four years. The MSP templates do not allow for this.
Attendance: MSP is unable to track attendance by minutes missed, as required by Ohio law.
No school scheduling or business office modules.

Pros: It is fairly easy to use but most importantly they have great support! The response time is very quick, usually within an hour, and if not, then the same day. Implementation and setup was easy!

Pros: What I like the most about this software is its customer support. I have sent emails to request help and gotten feedback within several hours. That is very helpful!

Cons: What I like the least about this software is having only access to the students on my caseload, while I teach additional students and need to input grades for those students also. It would be easier if it was set up by class period than by students on the caseloads.

The site is not always user friendly and I feel it takes longer than it should to complete tasks.

Pros: The report cards look great and are easy to read. Attendance is also great and easy to use. I input attendance daily and it goes well.

Cons: Adding grades is a challenge. I cannot add a grade for 1 student. Once I add an assignment it appears for all students on my caseload.

I think MSP is a great system!

Pros: I love that the software is very easy to use. My staff and parents learned very quickly how to use it.

Cons: I wish that MSP had an app and also the option to send instant messages back and forth between parents and teachers. The only way we can communicate is through email.

I only teach once per week and that is how often I use the software.

Pros: It has several components in one. I like that I can communicate assignments to students and parents, keep grades, and email parents or staff all from one place.

Cons: I STRONGLY dislike the windows where the assignment instructions and details are written out. Everything is all jammed up and it is not formatted well at all.

The software is convenient. The customer service is outstanding.

Pros: The software offers many time saving features. I like the communication module the best. The teacher home screen is a great hub to go into your classes. Calendar module is great too.

Cons: There should be a way to comment on a student's progress report other than by subject. I think it is not always obvious how to maneuver the software. I've needed help at various times because I don't always see a clear way to do some things.

I am still learning the system, but it is user-friendly and I have excellent support.

Pros: Being able to access all of the grade-book so easily is helpful. I am not a techie so the more I can access easily, the happier I am.

Cons: I don't think the attendance and grades should be accessed by the same click. I use the system once or twice a week so I have to revisit every time to figure out where I am.

All has been wonderful and a very good experience.

Pros: Havent seen a grade report generated yet, but like that it will make report card season easy. I like that students can view their missing work at any time and know what they have a grade for or not.

Cons: For students who are excused from an assignment, there is no option to make that so, besides checking the missing box, but it's not missing..so that's confusing.

MSP has great customer support.

Pros: MSP is very user friendly. It's cost effective. I've experienced great customer support. Anytime I need clarification on a feature I can access the user manuals.

Cons: Would like to see a feature that can be used by development. Some kind of database for alumnae. A database for donors.

Pros: It's a little early to truly know what I like MOST - it's easy to use and the support is excellent. We haven't started using MSP with our teachers yet. Just Admin.

Cons: The Admin has only been using MSP for several months - I just requested a few teachers to give me feedback on setting up their modules. It's too early to have a valid CON

Pros: MSP helps us to collect our data digitally and provide grading and communication information to students and parents.

Cons: I would like to customize reports for our bus service. Currently, we use another database to create reports we need for teachers.

Overall: We can offer parents and students the opportunity to view and print their own report cards.

Usually very easy, One of the customer rep will quickly answer my questions.

Pros: The software design is logical and easy to use, but whenever I have a question, the MSP customer support is superb. That is what I appreciate the most about MSP.

Cons: To a new user, the steps to accomplish some of the tasks are not obvious. The screens do not indicate where to click next.

Pros: Our teachers and parents like that they can access grades and assignments in the same website. The ability to email and text all of the parents and students from one system is nice.

Cons: It takes a little time to get accustomed to using the program on the administrative side. Once all of the students information is in then it is wonderful.

Customer Support is quick to respond to any questions or issues we have.

Pros: I feel the ease of user - ability is the greatest asset to this software. We use the program daily to administer everything from absences to Hot lunches. We find it very easy to move around in the program.

Overall: The support group and ease of use have made our lives easier to cope everyday duties!

Pros: The accessibility and ease of navigation between modules. The customer service is Top Notch! I'm most impressed with the prompt response from the support team.

Cons: the time it takes to send to a communication when sending to over 400 people. Not being able to use other modules when sending an email.

Pros: I like being able to enter in my grade book all my class information. I also like that parents can opt to be notified of grades that fall below a certain average. All my questions are always answered quickly and the staff is very kind and accommodating.

Cons: I would love the interface to more enjoyable to look at and for there to be some kind of school feed as a homepage for parents when they log in.

My representative was very helpful and knowledgeable. She is fast in replying to questions.

Pros: That we finally have a cohesive system in the school that houses prospects to enrolled students. There are many modules that we are currently using and will incorporate into the future usage and all seem pretty easy to navigate through. There are some modules that when clicking on help, the PDF help documents do not load or could not be found. Meaghan has been a total help during those times.

Cons: The biggest con that I've run into is the extreme preciseness that is needed when entering a new student or doing a mass upload. If there is an extra space, or an invalid character, you will be taken to an error screen but the cause of the error is not given. It becomes frustrating when that happens and information is not given as to why that error is occurring.

MSP is comprehensive. Each day I/we learn how powerful it is.

Pros: Most often it's intuitive. It give lots of options and opens the door for options we had not thought about previously.

Cons: Support has been phenomenal but I'd like to see more PDF help so that I can work out questions myself or have the directions available to print for co-workers. This actually is not a con but a suggestion as I can tell how pleased our school is with the help offered us.

We'd love to see a Spanish translation ability for teachers and parents but do know that we can communicate with parents in several languages, especially since we are a dual language school.

Overall: Ability to easily locate a student or parent with limited information.

My experience has been great, great tech support, and help correct problems that arise.

Pros: The program currently seems to do every thing I look for in a record keeping program. Once we completed the training everything has been very user friendly. Any problems we have encountered have been dealt with in a timely efficient manner.

MSP is probably our 4th SIS that we have dealt with and out ranks others hands down.

Pros: I like that you listen to what the customers need and can customize it to fit individual schools need. I also like the speed of tech support. It's also intuitive and easy to use.

Cons: I have a problem with a module/option being offered and then it doesn't work. I would like the lunch program to be faster and be able to send an email of the students balance directly to the parents.

Overall: Lunch is built in. Custom report cards and flexibility.

I was thrown into the admin role in MSP. It does everything you need to do, once you learn how.

Pros: Customer support really is there to help you whenever you need it. The software does everything you need, you just need to know how. Once you learn, everyday tasks are easy and quick.

Cons: Sometimes, it was a lot of clicking. And sometimes (for me) it was counterintuitive. The standards based report cards, as far as I understand it, were not friendly to our K-2 teachers. But this could have been just our understanding of it.

I have always had great service with MSP. Chris, Cody, Phillip and Meaghan have all been helpful!

Pros: I love how user-friendly the software is! I am not the best when it comes to technology but MSP has always been super easy for me to navigate.

Cons: Because we are a higher education institution and do not have any minors some of the software is unusable (such as the parent portals, demographics etc...). I would like to see a usage package that allows me to pick and choose what services to use.

Pros: MSP is awesome. I switched our small, private school over to it this past year and the transition was quite smooth. Their customer support is attentive to our every need and able to address any and all issues in a very short amount of time.

MSP is quite extensive in all that it can do, yet it is well laid out. Every function of the system is easily accessible, and best of all, it makes sense. The amount of time I spend doing admin tasks has been cut down significantly since switching to MSP, plus I can do way more than I ever could with my previous system mashup of WordPress and Google Docs.

My favorite part about MSP is how fast and easy it is to find any specific piece of information. If it's a certain detail about a student or a whole report on a custom demographic, it's quite easy to get whatever I need in a matter of seconds.

But best of all, MSP is relatively affordable. Compared to the other systems out there (I looked at a ton before finding MSP), it's great to have a piece of software that even small schools can afford.

Cons: I'd say my least favorite part about the software is the customization. But, in some ways that's a good thing. I just wish that I could brand MSP a little bit more to our school. Adding our logo in various places, putting a support email somewhere, customizing the login screen those would all be great to do. But sadly, I can't. However, it's not a deal breaker. I'd rather have a system that works!

Overall: Our organization got many benefits from using MSP. The biggest is ease of use. It's so easy to do anything and everything in MSP. Also, because MSP is so well built out, it's easy to instruct others about how to do anything. Plus, their top notch support is always willing to schedule trainings in order to learn how to do something within the system.

Pros: It is easy to use. I generally use MSP for searching for email addresses for parents and class assignments for students. It is a great tool.

Cons: There are functions that I haven't had the chance to explore such as prospects and donors. I feel like in the future these are areas for me to explore.

The transition to MSP has been smooth, and our first year with this program was a success.

Pros: The ease of record keeping. I like how the software averages all of my grades. This software makes it easier to keep track of student progress and who has not turned in required work.

Cons: No concerns. I have no problems with this software. It also gives the students and parents an opportunity to track progress.

Overall: keeping track of student progress is the most important part of this software.

Makes things easier on Administrators and Teachers. The support staff is always a phone call away.

Pros: The software is easy to use. Everything is at your fingertips. Mostly, I appreciate the customer support. If I need help with something, they returns my call or email immediately. If there is an internal issue, it's usually handled that day. Our faculty is very happy with MSP as it makes their daily routine much easier. We have every intention of staying with MSP.

Comments: I have been really happy with MSP so far. It's easy to use and Cody with customer service has been extremely responsive and very helpful. I am still entering data, so I'm not actively using MSP for enrollment management yet, but I can tell it will be a very useful tool. I like the notes feature which reminds me of the most recent communications I've had with a family.

Comments: Teaching 3rd grade, I believe MSP and the Diocese should allow us to put in student's grades instead of using the 1-4 system we use now. I do not believe that this is the best system of use at the primary education level. I believe it is better used for middle and high school students. In addition, it is very easy to use.

Comments: I have been using MSP for over 3 years. The customer support team is excellent! Whenever I have had a question I have been greeted with a friendly, helpful and professional member of the MSP team. Most often my question can be answered n only a minute or two, but in the event it takes a little longer to fix, the representative will fix any problems and email me when completed, rather than waste time putting me on hold. Very often the issue is resolved within a matter of only a few minutes. I could not be more pleased with the support given by this wonderful team!

Comments: Our first couple of years with MSP was a little rough mostly because the school people in charge of setting it up, didn't get it right and any new system takes some getting used to. However, this past summer, someone else took it over and we finally have it set up correctly and it is working perfectly for us! As a secretary, reports are very easy to create and use. My diocesan reports were very simple to complete also.
We have had great support from MSP too. Chris Roman has been wonderful to work with! He has been very responsive to all our questions especially last summer when we were learning to roll over the year, set up the system for this year, and beyond.
I am very happy with MSP this year!

Pros: I like that it is specific to Catholic schools. Most of the demographics we need are already setup. We can then customize any other fields we need for reporting. The step-by-step onboarding process with our own support person Cody. I love the Mass Update feature! They also have a brand new dashboard!

Cons: The interface is a little dated, but it is way better than most I researched. I know they are working on freshening the look and enhancing functionality all the time.

Overall: I spent last school year researching student information systems that were complete. By that I mean, they didn't have a separate module for everything. I have to say there are quite a few out there, but after watching demos and looking for ease of use, I found it in MSP. I'm only just getting started using the software, but already it's proving itself with great customer service and it's reporting features.

Pros: The updated version seems to be more user-friendly. Feedback was definitely taken into account and changes were made based on customer suggestions.

Cons: We use Rubric based grading and this software does not support this type of grading in the teacher gradebook.

Overall: The training with Cody went very well. He was very thorough in his presentation and explained all the new features and how they differ from the prior version.

Pros: MSP allows teachers to enter grades with ease and allow parents and students immediate feedback on student progress.

Overall: The navigation and program features are easy to use. I find the "grade book view" extremely helpful as it allows a teacher to track students progress and keep accurate account of missed assignments. The attendance feature is well designed and also easy to view.

Pros: The ease of use is its best feature. Also as an eighth grade teacher, the placement cards which are generated in January and June make my life so much easier.

Overall: Although I have only average ability when it comes to computers, I find this program very easy to use. It is my second year with MSP and I am completely comfortable with it. I had little difficulty learning to use it and I actually enjoy putting grades on line for my students to view.

Ever Evolving Software. We appreciate the fact that the folks at MSP are always looking for ways to make their software better meet our needs at no cost to us. What other company does that?

Caring Partner. I feel as though my high school has a caring partner with MSP. No matter who we talk with, no matter what our needs, I feel as though whoever is on the other end of the phone or at times, at the same table with me, truly cares about our needs as a school. When our diocese moved away from MSP, MSP didn't move away from us nor did they penalize us because a decision was made that we had no control over.

Our only frustrations have been, as a high school, that the software doesn't allow us to show out to the 3rd decimal place, we can't automatically round the quarter, semester, and final grades, and that scheduling is a little cumbersome.

Comments: Our customer service rep is great. We're in the east, he's in the west but he's in the office by 6 AM to handle our problems. At times we talk two or three times a week to work out kinks.

The software is serviceable but not up to the previous software we used. Items that are promised are often delayed. Last year I had to work after the school year ended to get work done because the software was not tested in time.

As Principal, I work with our technology teacher who is the administrator of this program.

It is easy to use, the pages are clear-cut and understandable, and the website is always up and running. Comments: We use the report feature for Progress Reports and Trimester Report Cards. The software is easier to use now that we are in our second year. We have used 2 other on-line grade books. I think the daily classroom attendance record could be simplified by adding a drop down menu of the numbers 1-10 for the absentee reasons. A drop down menu for absence and lateness might be easier.

Comments: When we started with the software it was easy to download labels. Now it's changed and it's more work. Thank goodness for the customer service team - they are fabulous and always seem to help me in my tough times with the software. Comments: Overall, MSP has been easy to operate. The webinars at the beginning were helpful and the Help documents are informative. The teachers seem to be comfortable with the grading system, attendance, progress reports and report cards. Whenever there is something I do not know how to do, Garrett will always walk me through the steps. There are however, some things that I wish MSP could do - like the ability to print out homeroom lists. Also, there is still the issue with the high school placement cards not being accessible on MSP (I'm not sure if this is an MSP problem or an Archdiocesan problem)

Comments: It has been so nice to have parents order lunches for their kids online. The only downside in my option, is that once the lunch module is closed to ordering, the parents can no longer go back into the lunch screen to just see the days they ordered.

I have used the program to enter teachers, students, and parents into a database that helps me to track my faculty, staff, students and parents quickly and efficiently. I have used the program to set up the database, track student grades, attendance, note keeping and communicating with parents. When I first started using MSP, Garrett Kroyer was a tremendous and informative representative who helped to resolve any issues and questions I had. If he did not know the answer immediately (which was rare) he always found out how to fix the problem and got back to me in a timely manner. I am very pleased with MSP and the staff support that is in place to help with any issues that arise. Customer Service overall has been excellent.

Comments: The learning curve would have been better if all aspects of use were available at the outset. Because we were apparently "guinea pigs", lots of issues had to be resolved as things were rolled out and caused a lot of bad feelings (report card and roll slip issues year 1) I have stuck with it and find it useful and a great resource to have everything in one place. On the elementary level, the scheduling module that was supposed to be available to the high schools is not relevant. Apparently, this has been a major sticking point for the AOP staff overall. After two years, it has done what we needed a new SIS system to do and would like to continue with it.
We LOVE the communications tools----makes emailing specific groups SO EASY. The bad service with School Reach last year gave lots of folks bad vibes--this year things have been much, much better. We have come a long way from our previous set up----which was a combination of 3 or 4 different systems.
For those without someone who is dedicated to finding out how it works, (which is probably frequent on the Elementary level), I can understand how they get frustrated. I just happen to like trying to figure it out and I have become the point person for our building to trouble shoot issues--and with Garrett's help, have been able to resolve them quickly. Garrett has been very patient and helpful and never hesitates to teach how to resolve issues----even if it takes me a couple times to learn it----I almost can think like a computer type prior to calling him to figure it out!
I would endorse continuation of MSP as our SIS system--but I am not the final decision maker---and financially, continuation will be the biggest factor.

Comments: One of the Greatest assets you have is Garrett Kroyer, he has been wonderful. When ever I am having problems, especially when it is my fault, Garrett is patient and understanding. When there needs to be a resolve he responds quickly. I really do like MSP.

The only CON I would have is that parents cannot access what they have ordered for their childs lunch once the lunch program is shut down. There must be a way that you can have that information available without the parents being able to change their order.

When we first started with MSP Kaela was our Rep. She also was wonderful, so to have Garrett follow suite I would put them in the same boat, MINE so I can continue to be as successful as I have been!

Garrett Kroyer and Kaela Nacionales make me look like a Rock Star :)

Comments: I am the Technology Teacher and MSP Admin. I am very happy with the MSP software. My Customer Service Rep, Garrett Kroyer has helped me with any issues I have had. He usually resolves issues the same day. The faculty has embraced MSP even though some are not technologically advanced.

Comments: Our goal in education and in business is to find a top quality program with top quality service. Too often we have to sacrifice one to get the other. Not with MSP. The quality of the program as well as the service accompanying is leads above the competition. No program is perfect but how the service deals with issues makes the difference. In the case of MSP if something was not to our liking, MSP customer service was there to take care of the problem immediately and with our thoughts in mind. Very few companies can achieve that. In the very few circumstances we did not get what we wanted, the Customer Service supervisor Becca would go that extra mile to get where we wanted. There was never a "this is all we can do attitude". From the day you sign on with Philip you become part of the family. Although a continually growing company, you are never a number. You are a name that is unique and treating according to your needs. I often wonder how MSP makes any money giving us so much customer service on top of an amazing program. By far the best business decision I have made in my career.
