We have been using Lucky Orange since the end of Q2 (paid) (we had used the free version prior). We use Lucky Orange heatmaps and playbacks to understand where some issues / broken links etc we had on our site to help us get up and running. We have also used it to better understand what the most loved features on the site are, and where we can improve otherwise.

Pros

Intuitive user interface, SO many features, great support and easy to to onboard / get started

Cons

I wish that we could stay live on the Lucky Orange site chat without having the window open. Or getting slack notification when someone chats!

### "Straight forward onboarding and easy to learn"

Overall this has been such a great tool to track user frustrations we aren't able to locate in app. I personally am loving their new discovery tool to be able to do this. We also set up additional event tracking for new features and can now filter view to see users who have utlized these new features and if they are using them to improve their productivity or if they aren't able to complete certain actions.

Pros

I picked up using Lucky Orange after another team member set it up. In resuming setting this up it was pretty easy after reviewing the interface and a few YouTube videos on how the platform worked to resume some settings and implement a new survey. I do wish knew more about locating the help center and finding those like initial articles. The cards within the overview page show tutorials that are super helpful to guide you as a user and are ultimately what helped me move forward in reviewing user sessions and setting up events.

Cons

I didn't realize I had an issue with the content security policy section and that this was causing a portion of user data to not be captured. In hopping into an onboarding call with \[sensitive content hidden\] she quickly noticed the issue and made notes to follow up with sending me the details on how we can correct this. As someone on the product team between the teams who implement and work with this I wouldn't be able to notice this wasn't set up correctly. It would be nice to have like a connection check or checklist in app to ensure we are up to date and connected on certain things.

The heatmaps are awesome because they show exactly where users are most engaged across desktop, tablet and mobile devices. The funnel completion stats are another highlight—they clearly show where people are dropping off in the process. Overall, Lucky Orange makes it easy to understand and enhance user experience, leading to better conversions.

Cons

I think one area with some room for improvement is the scroll screenshots. Sometimes they don’t load correctly and can take a while to generate, which can be a bit inconvenient.

It has been quite good and was a good transition away from another provider we used to have that didn't really give us the information we needed.

Pros

I like that it provides a very easy display of your heatmapping so that you can make changes and adjustments to your site/landing pages for better conversion.

Cons

The funnel feature doesn't seem to work at all. It doesn't accurately track how far people make it through your funnel...and the data retention that Lucky Orange has is quite minimal. It'd be great if we could see data that extends beyond 60 days...

Lucky Orange is an awesome app. It was one of the first apps I installed in my site so that I can immediately improve my site based on user recorded feedback.

Pros

I love watching the recordings as my customers travel around my site. I love the chat feature as well.

Cons

I used the previous version of this app in a previous store. I prefer the look and feel of the previous version when it comes to the visitors page. I was able to easily see which recordings I already watched. With this version, there is no indication distinguishing between a watched and an not watched recording.

### "Complexities in Customization + Simplicity in Presentation = Perfection"

You all were very accommodating in extending our free trial period when I couldn't get our Support team to install the script in time. Very quick and friendly responses so far. Again, very well thought out UX/UI on you guys' part. I was surprised at how granular some of the settings got. We tend to be one of those... highly involved, particular type customers who have a lot of custom requests. We're also fairly techy, so we like being able to do things ourselves. I found you really thought things through without us even having to ask.

Pros

This tool is not only clean and simplistic on the customer facing side, but within the dashboard as well. Lucky Orange offers a wide variety of products for a great price. The products are very intuitive to walk through and setup your first time around. Even with the visual simplicity, there are still loads of customization options for every feature they provide. It's almost as if each question I had next on how I may want to tailor the tool or customer experience even further, they had already thought of that question and build it into the next steps of setup. I am very impressed with the value provided!

Cons

The only thing that was a little difficult for me (and this may just be me) was that I almost wanted one primary icon/section on the left navigation that included all products instead of having to switch back and forth between Analytics and Communication, etc. to get to Chat vs Heatmaps, for example. It was the only thing not 100% intuitive to me, but I also see how the way you have it split up keeps it clean and minimal, so I may just need to get used to it. I just found myself clicking around a few times trying to get back to whatever feature I was previously looking at. Maybe an expandable menu option that extends so you can see the items in each section right there on the left bar instead of having to click? Or hover-to-view option? But where people could disable that if they didn't need it.

Reason for choosing Lucky Orange

VWO we liked because I was slightly familiar with it when I was with another company and it had very cool A/B Testing capabilities that I have not seen anywhere else. When we were looking to replace HotJar, we were looking to also find a platform that had A/B Testing available, until time got the best of us. VWO proved to be very complex and VERY expensive. Plus, with their overseas support, we could not get quick or clearly communicated responses from anyone when we had further quetions. SmartLook has similar features and pricing to Lucky Orange, but their dashboard and user interface was not very intuitive. Lots of information, but not organized in a way that seems very efficient. Once we also played with the Chat/Announcements/Surveys in Lucky Orange, which SmartLook does not have all of from what I saw, we were sold on Lucky Orange. It sparked many marketing ideas with my team which is awesome.

90% Positive, I'm left wanting more often than not as we have far too many platforms doing too many things. If there was say a in-built way to marry up orders placed on a e-commerce site to the recording of their journey through the site that would be the best case scenario for us.

Pros

The customer support uses in heatmaps and live chat are the key reasons for us to purchase Lucky Orange.

Cons

The pre-made integrations for Bigcommerce seem to leave us wanting. The support and developer docs feel stale and lacking also. The support team itself was very helpful when I had to reach out to them, I'm referring specifically about the support docs at https://help-preview.luckyorange.com/ as all the answers are rather generic.

### "Lucky Orange is a Critical Tool at a Great Price"

I've only had to contact customer support one time and they were very quick to respond and resolve my issue. They seem like a talented group of people. Very professional and excellent customer service.

Pros

What I like most is that I can watch my potential customers sessions exactly from their perspective while they are on my site. Doing so makes obvious the differences between where I thought a customer would go verses where they are actually going. This helps me determine what changes and improvements I need to make. It identifies errors that I didn't know were happening. It shows me areas where customers have trouble finding things or navigating. I also love the live view feature and can watch customer's sessions from their perspective in real time. I've been able to walk users through things.

Cons

The videos sometimes don't load well for me or I have to keep clicking the play button. That could be because I'm using FireFox on a VPN with very heavy threat protection. Despite that, the playback is adequate and I have not pursued a resolution to that issue. Still totally worth it. Although the video information is critical and extremely helpful, it actually can seem torturous and highly annoying to watch customer sessions because they click all over the place other than what I want them to click on. I can't watch that for very long and sometimes my customers will be on my site for close to an hour before they buy. I only really watch sessions where the user visited more than 3 pages.

I found Lucky Orange as an app on my BigCommerce panel. I didn't look around at or try other products.

### "An Analytics tools that easier to use than GA."

So far we like the tool and its helped us get a more visually attractive way to view our site analytics compared to GA.

Pros

The dashboard customization along with creating user funnels for better tracking of users is important to us.

Cons

The polls is a great tool but very limited. Wish we could customize it to ask deeper questions based on their answers.

Reason for choosing Lucky Orange

LuckyOrange's funnels were much better and easier to setup.

The occasional non-displaying screen recordings and the absence of bot identification are areas for improvement, but they don't overshadow the positive impact Lucky Orange has had on my ability to monitor and enhance user engagement on my website.

Pros

The setup process for Lucky Orange is remarkably straightforward, eliminating any technical hassle right from the start. Navigating through its features is intuitive, making it accessible even for those who are not as tech-savvy. The screen recording functionality stands out as a particularly useful feature, allowing for an in-depth understanding of user interactions, and I find myself utilizing it frequently. Integration with Google Analytics 4 is seamless, providing a robust way to feed detailed analytics directly for comprehensive data analysis.

Cons

A notable hiccup is the occasional failure of screen recordings to display, which can interrupt the flow of user experience analysis. Additionally, the lack of a feature to identify and filter out bot traffic on the site is felt, as it would enhance the accuracy of the data collected.

Pros

So far I am liking the clean user interface and the wordings / language is clear and helpful (and friendly) and the UX is easy to understand and engage and easy to find what features I am looking for.

Cons

The CART OVERVIEW in the Customer View is NOT showing if their is any products left / abandoned in the customer cart - this feature I understand you are working on and would be great to see.

Collaboration between myself and IX Designer decided that we liked Lucky Orange features and pricing best.
