Pros

I do like that the system makes issuing and receiving equip quick and easy, I am able to pull up an item or group to see what's on the shelf to what's in the field, who has what.

Cons

I do find the system too difficult to work as has too many functions that are not aligned, such as Cat to tools to Check in/out when trying to find or issue equip there is an requirement to switch back and forth.

multiple barcodes are tied to 1 job. when that job is over non of them are tied together so i cant consume them

It's a good system and does what I need it to do. I wish the reports were more customizable without paying extra.

Pros

The tool system is very helpful and including barcodes ad printer for barcodes is very helpful. The app is also useful since my scanner does not connect to the internet.

Cons

The gigatrak scanner does not connect to the internet and Gigatrak cannot help me.

I am sure there will be things that are missing that I would like to have, however as of right now we are new to using the system and it is working in the capacity that we need.

Working with a company that has well over 2000 tools, we are experiencing less headaches trying to locate tools on our jobsites. Documenting and tracking tools is and will be a continuous process in the months and year to come. I am extremely satisfied with the product.

Pros

Finding tools is key for us. I believe it is easy to use. We are still in the process of inventory do to the large quantity of tools.

Cons

We are a company that had implemented a previous tracking system 12 years ago prior to purchasing the GigaTrak system. As a prior user to a similar system, the transition has been easy for me. We/I really like the phone App that we are implementing. Time will tell if GigaTrak will be a disappointment, but for now, no issues here.

### "Great Inventory Software at a Reasonable Price"

Pros

The software provides us the ability to use barcode labels to keep track of our inventory which is almost exclusively IT equipment (I'm an IT Operations Manager). We were starting from scratch since the previous Director of IT and Ops Manager didn't do any kind of inventory management. GigaTrak made it a simple process to import spreadsheets into the program and then print labels for each item.

Cons

The interface could use updating, but other than that, it's great!

Gigatrak's asset management system is by far the best asset tracking system we have used, or even seen, in a very long time. Although there are some "competitors" that can offer similar functions and features, NO ONE was able to beat their pricing and support team(On average, we are saving $9,000 - yearly). I would recommend ANY type of business looking for an asset management/tracking system to look into Gigatrak FIRST, and see how the competition DOESN'T match up.

Pros

\- Huge range of functions and features - Wide range of different reporting options - VERY, VERY good pricing compared to other tools.

Cons

\- Mainly, this is our fault as a company, and being very "out dated" in our previous Asset Tracking System (paper based system.. in binders/books -\_- ) - but having to manually enter each item does take up a good bit of time.

I just started at a new company, and they hired me to organize and set-up a tool tracking program to keep track of tool and assets. I did my research and kept coming back to Gigatrak. I finally pick up the phone and called to inquire. My contact person was Christie Bemis, a customer service rep. I can not tell you how please I was to speak to her about what I was looking for in a tool tracking program. Christie was amazing, she answered every question and followed up with me to make sure I happy with ordering the right tool tracking software for the company.

Pros

This software is user-friendly. Easy to navigate and no CD's to install.

Cons

Not sure? Have not come across anything I dislike about the software.

Good entry level product for tracking tools and inventory. Fairly simple to understand and use. The cloud version could be a little more MS Office friendly. Reports are stuck in PDF format but a future release of this software contains features that allow more flexibility. Otherwise performance is spot on. They do have exceptional customer support. Christie and Nicci have been there every step of the way to help quickly resolve issues. Overall a good value for the money.

Pros

This is a great tool to use to run reports to see when tools are or who they are checked out to. We also track a lot of information with our vehicles, and this is very helpful, so we don't have to have several different software packages.

Cons

It is time consuming to get set up, but once it is set up it is so easy to use. I am sure that there are features that i haven't even touched on yet.

From our initial contact with, to the implementation of, to the daily use of GigaTrak, we have had no issues. Everyone at GigaTrak has been responsive and helpful. Everyone at our company has positive things to say about GigaTrak, especially compared to ToolWatch which we were using before.

Pros

The program is very user-friendly. We have warehouse workers, administrative workers, and high level workers using this program, and it is easy for everyone to learn and understand. It only takes a second to figure out where a tool is. It also is very easy to move tools around. The best part is all of the pre-populated reports. They have all the detail we need to track our tools.

Cons

The only thing I can think of, is it would be nice to be able to create a location from the Check In/Out screen rather than having to exit out, go to location administration, add the location, then go back and check the tools in/out.

Overall, its phenomenal. The most difficult part is understanding the flow and why it works the way it does. Much like driving a car, once you understand it's operating characteristics, it's as easy as a couple clicks of the mouse.

Pros

If you want to make smart business decisions, the number-1 thing you need is data. Factual evidence to support your goals & motives. Gigatrak helps to provide that data, showing what your assets are doing. It gives you the who-what-when-where-how-why, and implements that data over time, providing you with the evidence based practice information needed to make solid decisions. It can apply to your fleet, tools, even consumables. You can find ways to cut costs and increase profitability through proper reinvestment. The possibilities are near endless. As long as you get the right people, and get them trained in Gigatrak's usage well, it will absolutely be one of the best decisions you can make and implement.

Cons

The cloud software, while excellent still, can be troublesome for intranet/internet balancing with internal networking. Internal servers will need special permissions and routing to accommodate filing and remote desktop usage. Its great but can be an extra unforeseen expense from your tech team.

It was management's preferred option. "Seemed easier."

Customer service team is amazing and helpful.

Pros

I love this system. It works so well for how we use it. I am able to find "mistakes" made by other users fairly easily.

Cons

Needs CUSTOMIZED REPORTING and ADMIN EDIT capabilities!! These two features would tip the scales for this product. The standardized reports aren't ever exactly what I need them to be, so a filter feature or drop down selection of what I want to see would be amazing. Also, when my team makes mistakes, it would be much more efficient to allow me (the administrator) to be able to just "edit" those mistakes (or even delete the transaction so I can recreate it correctly). This feature should only be for the admin though to avoid misuse.

It has been a good experience thus far, however I am still the only one that uses the system because of how cumbersome the software can be with regards to access and digging up information (good job security I guess). Overall this system has added value to our operations at marginal cost.

Pros

I like the high level overview of all the gear, and the features to track gear metadata and maintenance records. Without these features we would be reliant upon excel and would have a complicated endeavor to integrate these features into 1 cohesive system.

Cons

I dislike how many iterations and passwords I need to enter into the system. I dislike that I need to be logged into the system in order for the automated emails to work. It is in my work scope to eventually pass this system off to an administrator, however I foresee challenges with that due to the amount of facets there are to maintain this system. However there is a learning curve to any software so that's not a huge problem.We frequently buy new gear, and there is meta data associated to that gear that is crucial to job requirements and quoting. I dislike how I do not have options to see the culmination of that metadata (i.e. the user defined fields). So currently I have to enter into each tool specifically, navigate to the page with the metadata, and log that information manually. Why can I not select the class of tool and specify the metadata I need to export en masse?

You are able to search for specific UDF fields on the F1 tab and then export the Tool information with those fields. I would be happy to jump on a call with you to show you how to do this. The overall experience with has been perfect. We got to speak to the same person when we had questions on the software. She was well spoken and knew her job without sending us to some one else. Not a company that were they sell you the product they forget about you. They were their from start to finish.

Pros

I like the ideal that we got a clean inventory of are shop. It made it easier to spot check what is on a job site. Also are driver and shop foreman like the ideal they can move check-in tools from one job site and re check the out to another site without returning to the shop.

Cons

I would like to have a way of changing the network password (not the login password).
