## What do others say about [Apify](https://www.capterra.com/p/150854/Apify/) pricing?

Value For Money[4.6(509)](https://www.capterra.com/p/150854/Apify/reviews/)

Pros

- For a small business operator, that's the definition of strong ROI.

- For the amount of engineering time it saves, the value for money is excellent.

- Value for money is very good, and it is a easy to understand user interface.

- These apify apps offer great value for money and enable me to understand my competitors content and compare my workflow output to what is currently getting attention online.

Cons

- Building your own custom Actors also has a learning curve, and debugging failed runs through the logs can be tedious. Since many Store Actors are community-built, their quality and maintenance vary, and some break when the target site changes.

- Secondary to that is the fragility of community-maintained Actors — when a platform changes its page structure, third-party Actors break and I'm left waiting on a fix or debugging someone else's code.

- The automated quality testing system that flags actors as "under maintenance" is poorly documented, it took multiple failed attempts to learn that input schema default values are required for the tests to pass.

- The local dev story is the third weak spot — iterating on actor inputs or debugging a failing run usually means pushing up and waiting for a cloud run, instead of a clean "run this locally with the same environment as cloud" mode.

"Great for collecting web data at scale"

**Pros:** What I like most is how quickly you can get data flowing. The ready-made Actors in the Apify Store cover many popular sites, so you can configure a few inputs and start extracting structured data within minutes, no scraper building required. It also handles the hard parts automatically, like proxy rotation and anti-blocking, which makes scraping far more reliable. Scheduling recurring runs keeps data fresh on its own, and exporting to JSON, CSV, or Excel and pushing it into other tools is simple. For a small team, it removes the need to build and maintain scraping infrastructure, which saves a lot of time and cost.

**Cons:** The main downside is that usage-based pricing can be hard to predict. For larger or frequent runs, costs can climb in ways that aren't obvious upfront, so it takes some planning. Building your own custom Actors also has a learning curve, and debugging failed runs through the logs can be tedious. Since many Store Actors are community-built, their quality and maintenance vary, and some break when the target site changes. None of these are dealbreakers, but they're the areas I'd most like to see improved.

""Reliable, hands-off scraping that plugs straight into your reporting stack — just watch the cost""

**Overall:** Overall, a strong and dependable experience. Apify solved a real gap for me at Pin Wei — capturing external customer sentiment and competitor data that my internal iPOS pipeline couldn't see — and feeding it into one weekly reporting view in Looker Studio. After an initial ramp-up on the platform's concepts, it became a low-maintenance, high-leverage part of my workflow. It saves hours of manual data collection each week and makes our reporting more evidence-based. The main thing I actively manage is cost; everything else largely runs itself. A solid 8/10.

**Pros:** The reliability on hard-to-scrape targets and how cleanly it integrates into an existing stack. Google Maps and Foody are JavaScript-heavy and block scraping aggressively, but Apify's headless browsers and managed proxies handle that out of the box — no babysitting required. The clean JSON/CSV output plugs straight into my Make → Google Sheets → Looker Studio pipeline via webhook, so external data lands in the right schema with zero manual cleanup. For a one-person data function, that "set the schedule and it just runs" reliability is the biggest win.

**Cons:** Cost predictability. The compute-unit pricing can creep up if scraping volume isn't actively monitored, which makes budgeting harder for a small team. Secondary to that is the fragility of community-maintained Actors — when a platform changes its page structure, third-party Actors break and I'm left waiting on a fix or debugging someone else's code. The learning curve around core concepts (Actors, datasets, key-value stores) is also steeper than ideal for non-developers.
