Our overall experience has been very positive. We wanted a simple and secure way to manage shared passwords instead of sending credentials through chat or keeping them in spreadsheets. Passwork solved that problem well and their support is very responsive. It has been easy to adopt across the team, including for colleagues who are not very technical, and we've been using it daily without any issues.

Pros

Passwork is very easy to use, even for non-technical team members. We use it to securely share passwords within our organization and with a few external contractors. The permissions are straightforward, the interface is clean, and the initial setup was quick thanks to the well-written documentation.

Cons

I haven't run into any significant issues so far. It has covered our team's needs well without any major issues.

Great experience. We have migrated from our legacy tool and immediately adopted it. The intuitive interface requiere nearly no learning curve and add a lot of clarity to our secret management.

Pros

\- Ease of installation (for a self hosted server) - Easy migration from our legacy tool via CSV export/import - Folder structure, great search function - Productivity boost thank to the browser integration - Fair pricing for a small team

Cons

\- Tideous notificaiton setup for each user. In our case we have no need for notificaitons and have to disable them all. - Minor interface colums width is not always optimized. Manual redimensionning is often required when long password names are used.

Password management is complicated enough for must users, that a simple and accessible solution is required to be able to onboard most of the employees. Passwork gives you that. Also it supports APIs that replaces Vault-like solution, which are designed for automation rather than end users.

Pros

We needed a password manager that would include all company staff, with client-side encryption, and not only the technical staff. Passwork was able to provide that with a very simple and accessible interface for everyone. Moreover, the Passwork team provide fast-response support and improved the solution over time, adding the most needed features and performance improvements required to support very large compagnies/very high number of entries.

Cons

A few years ago Passwork missed some feature that other solution provided like multiple links per passwords or TOTP. But these feature as been added over time.

Alternatives considered

Reasons for choosing Passwork

Price and how user-friendly the solution is. Most solutions does bring the minimum requirements for a modern password manager. But some are more focused on tech users than being able to target a large non-tech audience.

Pros

Overall, my experience with Passwork has been positive. It provides a reliable and user‑friendly solution for securely managing passwords within a team. Daily usage is straightforward, and the platform feels stable and efficient. The only real friction point comes from its user‑management capabilities, which could be more flexible, but the core functionality works very well.

Pros

Passwork is very easy to use, with a clean and intuitive interface that makes it simple to store, organize, and retrieve passwords quickly, even for non‑technical users.

Cons

User management can feel limited and sometimes inconvenient, especially when dealing with complex team structures or needing more granular control over permissions and access rights.

Generally it has been very pleasant and easy. The most problem we had was with the login, particularly with the fact that Passwork does not support LDAP email login (it cant use the email AD Attribute). Once a user was logged in, there were almost never problems with the usage, whether it be creating, reading, sharing, searching, deleting password etc.

Pros

Self-hosted Attractive user interface Familiar user interface (like Windows Explorer) Perpetual User Licenses Not too overwhelming Security Easy updates Easy to use search functionality

Great. On the rare occasions where we've required support from the Passwork team, they have been friendly, professional and have responded to our queries with minimal delays.

Pros

It's a simple and easy to use password manager, once setup. Our non-technical staff use it without issue multiple times a day. It also has all of the features we care about without being too difficult to learn or use. We are able to securely access and share our passwords with minimal effort. I believe it is competitively priced based on my research

Cons

Depending on your installation method, keeping the product up to date can be involved. If using the self-hosted product, I suggest sticking with the Docker deployment method.

Overall we managed to create a workflow for storing passwords and manage them inside different development and project teams by segregating access and streamlining onboarding operations for users. By making password sharing easy, our users preferred this over traditional methods, allowing us to have quick adoption

Pros

Passwork is a great password management software which allowed us to centralize the management of credentials by leveraging on-premise installation. The value for this software is very high as it allows multiple points of access to our teams across devices

Cons

The documentation for managing the service on premise is not perfect. We had to troubleshoot some upgrade procedures with the help of support.

Very positive, whole company use it on a daily basis. It is intuitive, easy to learn, offers a lot of features and maintenance and administration is easy once you do it a few times.

Pros

Ease of use, intuitive, granular access, LDAP functionality, Pricing, Password sharing, easy to master and easy to maintain

Cons

UI could be better ( auto adapt to screen size ), there is a lot of screen not being used in 16:9 ratio Loading times when opening a folder/organization or password entry
