### "Solución de gestión de contraseñas confiable y fácil de usar"

March 11, 2026

4.0

Pros

### "On premise password management"

November 5, 2025

4.0

Overall we managed to create a workflow for storing passwords and manage them inside different development and project teams by segregating access and streamlining onboarding operations for users. By making password sharing easy, our users preferred this over traditional methods, allowing us to have quick adoption

Pros

Passwork is a great password management software which allowed us to centralize the management of credentials by leveraging on-premise installation. The value for this software is very high as it allows multiple points of access to our teams across devices

Cons

The documentation for managing the service on premise is not perfect. We had to troubleshoot some upgrade procedures with the help of support.

### "Passwork review with local LDAP"

January 9, 2026

5.0

Generally it has been very pleasant and easy. The most problem we had was with the login, particularly with the fact that Passwork does not support LDAP email login (it cant use the email AD Attribute). Once a user was logged in, there were almost never problems with the usage, whether it be creating, reading, sharing, searching, deleting password etc.

Pros

Self-hosted Attractive user interface Familiar user interface (like Windows Explorer) Perpetual User Licenses Not too overwhelming Security Easy updates Easy to use search functionality

Cons

Limited LDAP login options Non-descriptive login error-messages the browser plugin sometimes needs new Authentication which confuses end-users Login problems with LDAP

Your feedback on LDAP login options, error messages, and browser extension re-authentication is noted — these are on our radar for improvement. ### "Very clear and easy to use password manager for SME"

July 15, 2025

5.0

The Support Team is very helpful and when we noticed some features missing after the upgrade from version 6 to 7, the Passwork Team quickly re-implemented these features. Initial setup went smooth, too. The web interface is very clear and self-explanatory, so I hardly received any questions from users.

Pros

The web interface shows Name, Login, URL and Tags for each entry of the password list, which makes it easy to find the correct password. A Self-Hosting Option via Docker is available and works very well.

Cons

Initially I missed the possibility to choose from a list of tags, when adding tags to a password. That got resolved in Passwork 7. Now you can pick a tag from a list which helps to reduce the number of similar tags.

Alternatives considered

[Bitwarden](https://www.capterra.com/p/210695/Bitwarden/)

Reason for choosing Passwork

The Bitwarden interface didn't fit our needs. We prefer the way Passwork shows more information about each password entry in a list.

### "Strong Password Manager for Teams"

July 29, 2025

4.0

Our overall experience with Passwork has been very positive. It provides a reliable, secure way to store and share passwords within our team. We particularly value the self-hosted deployment option, which allows us to maintain full control over our data. Daily use is straightforward, and the tool performs consistently well. Although permission management and mobile usability have some room for improvement, Passwork’s strong core features and focus on security outweigh these minor limitations.

Pros

The UI is clean, logically structured, and easy to use—even for non-technical team members. Access control and role management are highly granular, enabling precise permissions and security policies.

Cons

One-Time Passwords (TOTP) are stored in the same record as the main password, which is a significant security risk. In the event of a breach, an attacker would gain access to both the login credentials and the second factor. This undermines the purpose of 2FA and makes the system more vulnerable.

### "Great Tool to improve Collaboration and increase the security of the company"

March 21, 2025

4.0

Overall, it's been a great help so far. Passwords have been easier to manage and share. Access is simple, and employees enjoy using the software. From an IT perspective, installation was also straightforward, and updates are also easy to install.

Pros

It is very simple to use and we get this feedback from the most of our employees. It also increases the Security of the company, collaboration in our teams and supports the employees a lot in the daily work.

Cons

The integration in other Applications. Similar Products can do it a little better with an Application installed on the device.

October 8, 2025

Pros

Password Management with role based vaults and private vaults, ease of use for the endusers, user management via LDAP and SAMLv2 and a usable API was the key features for us when deciding on a web-based password vault solution.

Cons

### "Just an effective password manager that gets the job done without getting in the way"

March 28, 2025

5.0

Before Passwork, we were using a decentralized password manager that required an installation onto each local PC. Realizing how cumbersome this was, we sought a solution that was centrally managed and provided appropriate RBAC controls. We ended up comparing Passwork and PassBolt. Although similar, Passwork came out ahead due to its capability to have a separate admin account that was not required to be tied to any one user. We have been extremely satisfied with Passwork and continue to be. We always anticipate updates and releases because we know they will bring quality changes.

Pros

\- Self-hosted option that's non-Docker/containerized - Easy updates - Clean interface - Helpful and responsive support - Competitive pricing

Cons

Although not important to me, some of my coworkers have indicated that the browser extension needs improvement. If I remember correctly, things like site detection and filling in fields.

### "Passwork review"

August 1, 2025

We have been using this system for a year and now we renewed licence for another year. It has helped us to keep our passwords centralised and secure.

Pros

It perfectly fits our companies needs, it has LDAP integration, shared and private password vaults and easy user management. System is very easy to use with fast learning curve and great value for money.

Cons

### "Simple low-cost alternative for smaller businesses "

February 24, 2025

5.0

Overwhelmingly positive and user-friendly, especially after everything is setup.

Pros

It is functional and light, easy to use, with capability to retain full control over your data via deployment of self-hosted version. It is also relatively cheap for a business-use perspective, perfect for smaller to medium-size companies.

Cons

Installation of self-hosted version can get a bit tricky if you're not well versed in Linux and DB management. UI could be a little bit more polished and allow for more customization. However, nothing that would impact the overall value and use capabilities of the software.

### "secure and offline solution"

4.0

Nicely designed and secure zero-trust approach. Professional organisation, with personal attention..

Pros

The solution is secure build and has the option for an offline installation. You can setup in private cloud of onpremmise enviroment.

Cons

Thank you for your feedback! Regarding personal password databases. Currently, you can restrict the creation of new vaults through Role settings and limit user access to specific folders. We recognize that there is room for improvement in this area. We are actively developing a new feature (vault types) which will provide more granular control over database access. This update is a priority on our roadmap and will be available soon. Thank you again for helping us make Passwork better!

### "Secure, Self-Hosted, and Cost-Effective"

February 19, 2025

4.0

Passwork is an excellent password manager, especially for those who value control, security, and a straightforward licensing model. The ability to host it on your own infrastructure is a huge advantage, ensuring complete data privacy without relying on third-party servers. One of the standout aspects is the lifetime licensing option, which provides great long-term value compared to recurring subscription-based alternatives. While it lacks some convenience features like a desktop app and mobile autofill, its robust self-hosted capabilities, intuitive interface, and team-friendly features make it a fantastic choice for businesses and individuals looking for a secure and flexible password management solution.

Pros

Passwork offers a flexible licensing model that puts you in control of your password management. I especially appreciate the option to host it on my own infrastructure, ensuring data privacy and security without relying on third-party servers. With its straightforward licensing and self-hosted capabilities, it’s an excellent choice for teams and businesses.

Cons

The biggest downside of Passwork is the lack of certain convenience features found in other password managers. A dedicated desktop app, mobile autofill, and some additional ease-of-use functionalities are missing, which could improve the overall user experience.

Quick to setup and userfriendly for the enduser which helps getting everyone aboard. No more missing password if one emploee is out of the office.

Pros

\* Easy to setup \* Does what I expect from a team password manager, without any wired restrictions \* LDAP and SAML integration for user/permission management \* Rest API to manage vaults, users, and permissions, etc.

Pros

### "Passwork Pro - Great Job, Exceptional Product"

June 10, 2025

5.0

Pros

Excellent functionality at a reasonable cost. We received all the features we needed including SSO, API, an understandable client-side encryption mechanism, great support during the PoC and onboarding, and very responsive managers who helped quickly and flexibly resolve all organizational issues.

Cons

Some specific features that would enhance usability in our particular scenarios are being implemented rather slowly. Obviously, there are still many basic features in the high-priority backlog, and the product is actively developing in that direction, but for teams with less enterprise-focused and more specific requirements, this might not be very convenient for non-enterprise customers in specific cases. However, for me, the existing advantages totally outweigh the disadvantages.

### "Good solution for businesses and workgroups with on premise storage and AD/ LDAP integration"

February 12, 2025

5.0

I was looking for an on premise solution to store and manage our passwords. Multiuser with different roles and rights was a must, LDAP integration a nice add on. Passwork ticked all the boxes. They were realy helpful in the testing phase (demo license and expanded it to do some more tests) and ultimately helped with the integration of our AD user lsit (was a bit tricky to setup but works flawless ever since). Performance is very good and the best thing is the near zero enduser problems - its so intuitive, that none of the 30 users had any further questions after first introducing the software. We're using the browser plugin and secure the access to the actual frontend with a certificate - works really well.

Pros

On premise solution Good LDAP Integration - User creation fast and easy Group/ role management is easy Intuitive user interface, nearly no enduser support necessary Quick reply from helpdesk and good documentation
