Pros An excellent app with great functionality across data uploads, mobile app etc. Easy to get to grips with it, great for SMEs. Cons Some of the menus are a little non-intuitive, but it's not too bad. If you had a more complex estate there are not enough levels to easily represent areas in hierarchical form, but for simple estates, it's great. I'd like the options to group areas for audit rather than having to download one room at a time. I'd also like to be able to multiselect assets and then update them all at once. I understand you need money, but this was handled poorly, it bothered me enough to write this review. Pros I LOVED the OLD FREE tier, but they had to ruin it with some arbitrary limitations causing me issues in trying to even remain compliant! Asset Tiger is "alright" at the free tier now, but just barely. Cons The sudden pricing structure change that added some arbitrary limits just out of the blue. Why could I not be grandfathered into something that didn't cause me to lose data in custom fields?? 2 Users are you kidding me? 5 Custom Fields? I need to pay $20 a month JUST to have more custom fields that I had for YEARS??? You are trying to squeeze a free tier to paid tier and the leap is just absurd from FREE, to $240 a year if paid monthly... I really wish there was a grandfathered in plan of sorts, and I hate to say it, my company would likely not pay even if it was cheaper, we would change platforms. This just added annoyance and pushed me to write this because I find it incredibly annoying. No $5 a month plan, no $10 a month plan, no straight to $20 to start out, and cut me off from using until I delete things. While the rollout had flaws, their willingness to take responsibility and restore trust was exceptional. Pros Our organization is national, and we have users in multiple states. Each has their own account/custom views, and we can easily see/manage assets in all our locations. We love the ability to see a piece of equipment is available and request it from each other (creating a paper trail). It's even nice to see the total value of our assets/depreciation of our entire organization. While we are just a branch, we are suggesting this system to our parent organization for their use. Cons Inventory. While it is still new, it is limited. As of this review, while adding or editing, you cannot put the "Location" or "Sub-Location" of the inventory item, then search for it. I tried custom fields, but they would not work or show up on the information. And it cannot be shared across our multiple sites. In addition, this feature has a bug when changing the InventoryID, it will not allow you to change it then go back without having to manually change each one. Assets. I don't like that if you need to make a bulk change, you cannot do this with a picture. You have to manually change it for each asset. I had over 100 to do by hand. From their tech support, there is no way to search your list to see if you are missing assetIDs. We have thousands and just to see if we are missing assetID \[sensitive content hidden\] would be a nice feature. You have to export your list, then open excel and run formulas to search for missing assetID's. Sharing Assets. It would be a nice feature to integrate UPS, Fedex or USPS to where you can "Checkout" this device and either place the tracking number for it, or even purchase. Besides the mobile app, this software is everything that we would need for asset management. The mobile capability is the only thing lacking. Pros The ability to check out assets to people and places is one of the major pros for this software. Keeping track of that and the value of the items makes it easier to see how much we are spending and makes it easy to compile a list of stolen/broken items in case of filing an insurance claim. Cons My biggest gripe lies with the mobile app. It doesn't feel very polished and having to sign in every time I have to use it makes it less efficient to use. I have opted for taking photos of assets along with their tags and then taking those photos and using the website to track assets as this is the best method of doing so at this time. With 10 different offices all in different states it makes it very easy to track, maintenance, and manage our assets. It has been a great tool for our entire company i could not imagine life with out it. Cons Only con i have is when creating maintenances it did away with my auto fill, my employee still is able to auto fill maintenance names but i cannot. The ease of use and numerous functions and personalized options helped me customize the product which work well for our company Pros As an Operations Manager for a group of schools and colleges, the software was easy to deploy across the campuses and it was extremely easy to train our staff on its use. I really appreciate the ability to compartmentalize functions and permissions within the package as well as track the history of a particular asset. Cons There was no notification to users when the vehicle reservation form was updated and feedback/help was delayed. This resulted in us not being able to reserve vehicles for a while. The mobile app is not as user friendly as the web based platform, so I prefer using the latter. Reason for choosing AssetTiger Initially, the value for money and web based platform was what caught my attention. However after setting up and implementing Asset Tiger across our campuses and experiencing all the options they had to offer, I am now a firm supporter and have recommended them to other colleges in the Operations and Facilities field. After trying AssetTiger, there was no going back. We quickly and easily imported all our assets, customized the database to add fields we needed and haven't regretted it since. Certainly worth considering and an automatic if you purchase asset tags anyhow. Pros Very powerful and flexible. The ability to add your own records to the database and create user access to certain assets based off fields is great. The "check out" feature is great in keeping track of who has an asset, when it should be returned and even notifies them. We use this for the entire District and currently have nearly 21000 records. Reporting is easy to customize. The cost is very reasonable and, if you purchase asset tags through them you get credits towards Asset Tiger. With the number of tags we've purchased in the last couple of years, we have yet to pay for Asset Tiger. Customer service is very respective to suggestions and quick to respond. Cons Search doesn't seem to allow wild cards which can be an issue if you type something incorrectly. For example, if searching for a description of "Chromebook" and you have an asset spelled "ChromeLook", searching for Chrome\* would show the desired results. Also doesn't seem to handle Boolean expressions so you can search for Account A AND Account B. You have to do two separate searches. Review Source JZ Jeff Z. Your ads online are a bit deceiving. We are concerned about having enough money to pay for this. Pros The ease of use, being able to scan barcodes and input a bit about the device to start. The ease of completing a school wide inventory. Prior to using asset tiger we just used spreadsheets and it took forever to complete an inventory. Cons One of the aspects of the product that could be easier to use, is when I send a device out for maintenance. It is difficult to find the correct location to set this up. Cons When you delete a piece of inventory there is no way to track what has been deleted and by whom. It would be beneficial to have some audit trail to show this. We were using spreadsheets before, but this program is much more detailed and easy to navigate. Pros AssetTiger was really easy to implement at our school. I particularly like that by purchasing labels, I receive credit to pay for the service. It is easy to customize to the needs of the business. I also like the asset tracking and the ability to assign devices to people. It is very helpful, especially since our school is 1-to-1 now. Cons I wish there was a more simple audit or inventory feature. It would be nice to be able to just scan all of the devices and get a report of what is missing. As it stands now, there is an audit feature, but even using the app, there is no continuous scanning ability. You have to scan, then submit over and over. Pros We were looking for a simple, well priced program to help manage our rental gear as well as facility equipment. We don't have many assets but it was getting to be too much for spreadsheets. It's low cost highly customizable and easy implementation has made it great for what we needed for. We are using it as a loaner system for it equipment. Pros One of the biggest pros about this product is it's free to use up to a certain number of assets. Which makes it perfect for managing a small amount of it assets or even other items you don't want walking away. On top of that it has a very clever check in and check out process with reminders that help you keep track of the items you're sending out. We have tried finding another solution with API/Integrations but they are all much more expensive. Pros We manage a lot of IT resources. The mobile app with built-in barcode scanner makes checking in/out equipment very easy. Cons Lack of API/Integrations with other products. Most asset management tools provide a method for integrating with Service Management or other helpdesk applications. Asset tiger would be a great tool with the ability to integrate with other applications. Without, it is a good asset management tool.
