October 5, 2026 4.0 Pros It's the most user-friendly form builder I've ever used! The drag and drop option for builds saves sooo much time and effort! Cons I think the subscription price is a little inflated for a program that lags and can crash at critical data processing times. I really like this platform, mainly because of all the handy options and tools it natively provides. Aside from the occasional crashes because of certain files, I have nothing to complain about. Pros The fact that you can use it offline is definitely a huge advantage. No need to be constantly connected, so even if your network connection fails you can always continue to work on what you were doing. It is also very easy to use and learn how to exploit. And there is a drag and drop option for the non programmers, which is also a nice option to have. Cons Be careful when handling large files, as it can sometimes freeze and crash for no reason. Also, the advanced formulas and calculations can be confusing and hard to configure at first, which is the only hard thing to understand in this software. However, the Scheduling Function does not exist, therefore, we continue to track work orders manually and it continues to be a huge hassle. At least, now our Reports look Standard (as opposed to trying to read everyone's poor handwriting). Pros In reality Forms On Fire stores the data off-line and that's a good thing since most of the software we purchase will either "crash" or have issues with us working at this location. Plus, its a great feeling knowing I don't have to carry around those clip boards. The app pulls in the historical data tables fairly well... I'll give it that. Getting the basics set up did not take me the entire weekend so I am happy that it works. Cons Unfortunately, the app freezes horribly once we attempt to upload large lists of itemized lines. Forms On Fire stopped us from doing all the manual stuff and the customer care and reporting is great. Maybe it’s okay since it has been keeping the Sales Team from losing all their leads all the time. Pros A programmer is not required to create software. I was expecting those automated bot thingies to be complete failures when generating the PDF’s but they’re actually creating them without taking down the server. My hands are cold so I’m glad you don’t have to build your own database from scratch either. Cons The formula they called “expressions” give me a headache because they just don’t make sense. As of today email delivery via bots only works for domain users which is frustrating. Now the technicians will have to complete their paperwork accurately (no more submitting 1/2 done work) because they cannot save their incomplete work. By standardizing all of our processes we have reduced by hundreds, the number of errors made daily. Pros This is a very long review and it's been an hour since I poured myself a cup of coffee, which is now as cold as the old warehouse I am currently in. But at least I'll be able to finish this review before the coffee congeals. One major relief is that I did manage to make the conditional logic work and I haven't had the system crash on me so far. Cons The interface looks like it came from the Stone Age. Finding the workflow settings is literally a blind man looking for a needle in haystack. The learning curve seems to be an impenetrable cliff wall. The custom word and excel templates are amazing and allow simple form entry while still exporting to PDF's on the exact same paper forms that we are using. This is super helpful for forms that need to be submitted on a specific standard form that a client or anybody else requires while still making form entry super simple for our employees. There isn't a single form or paper process we have came across that we haven't been able to digitalize with Appenate. The number of forms is also unlimited so not having a cap or getting charged to create more forms is huge. The more forms you create the more savings and value you get. Pros super customizable. Can automate filing documents/forms via connectors as well as organizing them in any way you see fit (by date or month submitted, manufacturer, person that submitted, etc.) Eliminates and automates to some extent paper processes. Able to build databases/lists off of any form, can export to excel, sheets, etc. or have a sheet that is constantly updating in real time every time there is a new entry. The options and customization is endless. Cost is super competitive and some of the best pricing I've seen. No form limits. Straight forward drag and drop Cons Only cons would be the learning curve on building forms and using connectors, but any form building software will have the same con. It is just part of learning the tool. The new AI tool allows natural language to build forms by just telling it what you want now too, which makes the learning curve about as low as it could be. The support team is also amazing so any issues or problems you run into when building forms, or if you are just not sure how to build something out can be solved by sending an email or booking a call with support. Super quick response time and anything that I've ran into problems or wasn't sure how to build, was promptly solved by customer support. Not only will they get on and solve the issue but they will actually show you how they did what they did which allows you to learn so much faster, and the learning curve far easier. Support docs and formula cheat sheets are a massive help as well saving a lot of time. The onboarding folks worked with us to build out the whole setup quickly. The switch from our old process was smooth. We would recommend Forms On Fire to anyone dealing with the same kind of documentation and process needs. For context we complete approximately 200+ forms per month. " April 26, 2022 5.0 Forms on fire was exactly the middle ground we needed between being offline using paper and developping our own mobile app for internal use. We decided that simply digitizing the forms was the best use of our time and money and it has had a great ROI. Within the first 3 weeks of using FoF we were able to increase productivity and decrease paper to computer entry completely. Reports that usually took 1 hrs to gather the information and another hour to digitize and publish could be done on the fly during the data gathering phase. Pros This software is so easy to use! If you can drag and drop you can make a nice UI and form that is accessible reliably from any mobile platform. We really did have an easy time taking our existing excel sheets, modifying them to a forms on fire friendly format and setting that up. Total effort was about 10 hrs for a form conversion (first time, and done manually). Cons We got stuck with a few elements (how to pass data in a certain format) that didn't work, but Forms on fire customer support were available to help us get through it. Pros Our team especially liked the openness of the software programming interface, the associated help files, and the superb customer support whenever we had a question. We knew going in that we would have some "special tasks" we would need to implement and Forms On Fire appeared to have the best programming system in place to easily make that happen using our own personnel and not requiring the software company to handle everything at additional cost. The system is so easy it just doesn't require that much support, but if you need it, they are there to help! Cons I think the website interface could use a few minor improvements like having data view columns maintain their positions between sessions or refreshes, and perhaps a little more development on the dashboard, although we'll probably develop our own that most of the vendors for this type of software simply don't offer. If you are a supporter of the programming principle to have the power in the app (against the coal face) and not in the server ability, Appenate is best. I prefer that the applications on all the App's do the computing and work, this sends back a "result" and the server power requirements are reduced.
