August 1, 2019 5.0 Overall I'm very satisfied with the app. Pros After researching/watching reviews for several mileage tracking apps, I decided to go with TripLog. It has some of the best app features while also being extremely affordable. I used this app to track my GPS location while running errands for my work. I love that you can create names for places you frequent, automatically track your trips, and create notes/reports to submit for mileage reimbursements. Cons The only "con" I came across was that the app wasn't as modern looking as some other apps out there, making it feel slightly dated. The auto trip feature is not good, the multiple trips it creates if someone slows down or stops is confusing and time consuming for a admin to assist or fix. The other feature that is weird is when someone forgets to add the mileage, trip log sometimes starts over and it messes up the miles for trips after that. Needs some improvements to be great! Pros It should work pretty automatically. It doesn't require data or internet connection since we are in rural areas that sometimes doesn't have internet connectivity. I like the fleet tracking feature to provide some security in case something goes wrong. Cons It is glitchy. We have had issues with sometimes not picking up a trip. We have had issues if the person makes a roundtrip without turning off the app, it calculates zero miles since the start and end were the same location. The reporting features are lacking and there is no way to close out trips and archive them after they are paid, oh and no way to mark them paid. The customer service is pretty non-existent. Better price and I like that it has the Apple Watch app. Cons When I turn it off while traveling I wish there was some kind of reminder to turn it back on because often days pass before I realize that it's not automatically tracking anymore. It has been a game changer for our business. It takes all the hassle out of tracking your work trips. Our team members used to spend so much time manually keeping track of all their work trips and processing their expense claims at the end of the month. TripLog has given them back so much time. Support from the TripLog team has been faultless. Pros It could not be any easier to use. Even our least tech-savvy team members have found it very easy to get started. Even after precisely following the setup steps, the system does not work as advertised. It does work well if you have one car per account. At the end of the year, we can not get daily millage reports, only total year-to-date mileage, which proves the annual subscription useless. We will track the mileage manually in the future. Pros Autostart is a good feature. The only downside is that at the end of the year when you download a detailed report you only get the total milage whish is not sufficient for millage tracking. Cons We use multiple software and applications at our firm. Unfortunately, we found it extremely difficult to set up three separate vehicles under one account for our company. After four weeks of watching instructional videos, having the customer service, and all our management team involved, none of us was able to set it up. We decided to just go with the two vehicles, although we are paying for three, and just combine the reports from two vehicles into a third one. As it is the beginning of 2024, and we are trying to get daily mileage reports, we are finding out that they are simply not available. We only get the total mileage, which we can get from reading the odometer. We wanted a year of subscription and will be discontinuing the subscription. The drive does not work at all without your phone on, and the app open, and the AutoStart feature enabled on your phone. The USB is just a money grab, it does not actually do anything! Cons Unreliable products, that do not do what they advertise. Very complicated to setup, does not sync and does not accurately log trips, with or without their extra products. Customer service is blunt, and offers very little explanation or instruction. They asked me to download a third party app to try and fix their USB. When I searched the app on iOS, it doesn't even exist. They have side-stepped my request for refund so far. Just try another tracking solution, Triplog is not a reliable company or product. Cons I didn't like that it seemed a little complicated to keep track of my mileage in an organized way. As a real estate agent I was looking for a more touch and go app that can adjust to my fast lifestyle. It allows you to start/end mileage for any project you may be working on with traveling involved. It also calculates your mileage based on the standard. The sales rep I dealt with was extremely professional and knowledgeable. We had a few links during the implementation of this app and Support was very easy to work with. Pros We absolutely love this software. We have tried 2 other application prior to Triplog and had nothing but issues. Trip log has MANY features that set them aside from their competitors, such as: Driving safety monitoring, Google maps confirmations, and beacon devices to use instead of geofencing. Cons There's really not much I can complain about. I will say the desktop version can be somewhat confusing at first. No paper forms or Excel spreadsheets anymore. The fleet location map feature has also been a tool we use to efficiently identify employees' location during the day. We also use the app to spot check employees' reported times. Pros Tons of features, lot of detailed reports available, incorporates commute miles, able to import customer name and address to associate with GPS coordinates.
