Pros

Abtrac is your all-in-one solution that talks seamlessly with most accounting software. We use Abtrac for quoting, timesheet entries complete with flexible invoicing software and an extensive range of management reports.Saves time when preparing invoices, and includes disbursements automatically. Ultra user friendly - very quick to set up new solutions and on-board new users - any one can use it.

Cons

Sometimes takes several reloads for application to become available. Downtime for maintenance. Have to log back in after maintenance

The system "saves" too often -e.g. when entering timesheet entries, disbursements The desk top version had a report that is not available in cloud version: Fees Earned by Employee and JOB and Invoice. Adding addresses is confusing - e.g. if you use the post code line, it does not come up in the address

Pros

Abtrac is very easy to use. It captures time and costs in one place to track project performance as well as invoicing from the one system.

Cons

There are no cons. Any time we have a question or would like a custom report done then Abtrac have resolved very quickly.

Pros

We have employees with a range of computer skills, it's important that we had software that was easy to use and Abtrac comes to the party with professional setup, training and support. Abtrac's time tracking software allows us to manage projects, track employee hours and monitor expenses easily you don't need an extensive education to use this software it is easy to use with the added benefit of being web-based. You can generate standard reports or filter reports to your required specifications for time spent on projects, tasks, budgets, hours, expenses and invoice virtually putting together whatever you require from the reporting functions. I have no hesitation in recommending this software, we have been using Abtrac for over 15 years and moved to the web based system over a year ago and although Abtrac was completely re-written for the web based system our staff have had no problems re-learning their way around.

Cons

To be honest there really isn't much that I don't like about Abtrac and I struggle to think of any cons. The only thing I can come up with would be that being web based you rely on the speed of the internet for opening new tabs or when entering details at data entry speed it can sometimes be a hindrance but for the every day user I'm not sure this would not affect them and the functionality certainly out weighs this.

Having a reliable package and knowing if you have a problem the help desk is always there and only too happy to help out with anything or find a solution

Pros

Getting to everything, enjoying the Cloud version now I'm used to it. It all flows really well and enjoying not having to jump in and out of functions, opening a new browser is really good.

Cons

Sometimes a bit of a pause when the internet isn't going well. Having to log in when you've been doing something else is a bit of a pain at times.

Pros

Captures all data relating to a project in one place; flexible invoicing by time engaged or % complete on a customised invoice; good tracking and reporting on budgets and sub-consultant costs.

Cons

It does save a bit too often on time sheet entry, and can run a bit slow over the internet sometimes when querying the database.

Pros

The software support is great, to have the answer on a quick phone call or team viewer is so handy. Recently we've upgraded to the cloud version, many more areas we can customise to suit our needs. Frequent upgrades, and easy to add to suggestions for amendments/improvements.

Cons

The speed can be slow, this is also what i hear other staff complain about also. Perhaps it is the internet speed again, but sometimes it takes a while or doesn't pick up entries (when entering a date or job number etc), it means slowing down, or clicking on the dropdown box

I use it mostly to track time, and love it how invoices capture the time spent and are generated with a push of a button

Cons

reports exported to excel, have too many lines and colums that complicate using excel... it looks good (if printed) but not practical.

Real time cost of projects, collection of WIP, ability to write on and off against projects, invoicing and reporting functions are fantastic. Real time support from the software developers who are always listening and improving their product.

Pros

The cost of implemantation, training and monthly user subscriptions is very reasonable and software support are fantastic. Capturing timesheet hours and expenditure costing direct to the projects is great. The reports are extensive and the support staff assist with any changes of tweaks required to get the information we want to see. We invoice direct from the program and import the invoices to our accounting software. Our company captures information based on many variables and the support staff have helped us to manipulate the system to allow us to set up, capture and report on these variables.

Cons

We currently use Reckon Professional for our accounting and there is no automatic push function from Abtrac at the moment, so we have various import/export functions to assist with the transfer of information. However, Abtrac does have the automatic push function with Myob Accounts and we intend to move over from Reckon in the next couple of months which will remove the need of import/export function.

While it may not have the most modern user interface, its functionality and depth more than make up for it. Once you’re familiar with it, it becomes an essential tool for managing projects effectively.

Pros

What I liked most about Abtrac is how well it’s tailored to project-based businesses, especially in professional services. The time tracking, billing, and project financials are all tightly integrated, which makes managing projects and monitoring profitability much easier. The ability to see real-time data on budgets and progress is a big plus, and the reporting tools are powerful once you get familiar with them.

Cons

The main drawback is that the interface can feel a bit dated and not as intuitive as some newer platforms. There’s definitely a learning curve, especially for new users, and some processes could be more streamlined or automated to improve efficiency.

### "Easy, Intuitive software"

Easy, intuitive software, which is such a bonus, because staff don't find entering their timesheets a hassle.

Pros

We had to find an alternative software quite quickly, and the team from Abtrac made our choice quite easy. We spoke to them, explaining our specific needs from Project Management Software and they were able to accommodate. The data transfer went without a hitch, the custom invoice template we needed was easily set up, and teaching our staff to enter their timesheets was done in minutes with minimum fuss. We are able to set up budgets easily when setting up new projects, so tracking billable hours versus budget is easily seen in the timesheets. We are really happy with this software, and the phone support is amazing - no question is too small.

Cons

Can't add photos of Clients to the projects (no big deal). Would have liked various tasks as a column in the timesheet printouts.

The program is easy to follow once you understand the program and the staff offer training either over the phone, email or remote login

Cons

That when some updates are completed, they change grid lines and you have to reset them When you save work sometimes Abtrac fails to save so you have to check your work regularly

### "Makes timesheets easy"

Not a bad tool for simple project management. It makes things a lot simpler for admin staff and timesheets are simple for staff to complete.

It makes managing timesheets against projects easy. The fact that the data is live (if employees do their timesheets daily) makes it very easy to assess progress against Purchase Orders. \[sensitive content hidden\] is very helpful from a help perspective as is Jos

Cons

Management of subcontractors is clunky. Unfortunately you can't even run a report to see which subcontractors are allocated to which projects. It's not aesthetically pleasing - very old school in its' appearance. The fact that you can allocate PO's against phases - but then they don't flow on to anything at all is rather annoying. Training/help documentation is not updated when the package is - so if they change the terminology you then can't search on things which is frustrating, we have found this a bit.

It has been excellent. It has allowed our business to save lots of time invoicing. It also allows our project managers to see how their projects are progressing.

Pros

Abtrac is easy to use, despite being customisable. We now have one source of truth for our time records and project tracking. Invoicing is now much easier and consistent. The ability to run multiple types of reports makes our data analytics simple. The customer support is excellent.

Cons

Finding the right report is sometimes tricky. Sometimes feel like I need access to the raw data to run my own reports. But I appreciate the security of our data and the protection Abtrac provides.

I am pretty happy with Abtrac overall. I mainly use it for invoicing, debtors, timesheets, loading clients, and I occasionally run reports.

Pros

Billing and debtors works well and connects seamlessly with Xero when uploading invoices and importing payments.

Cons

There was a time when I selected to "keep me signed in" when I logged on, yet I found that I was getting logged out. Seems to have resolved now.

What I liked most about Abtrac was its excellent customer support and how easy the platform is to use and navigate. The interface is intuitive, making day-to-day tasks straightforward and efficient, and the support team has always been responsive and helpful whenever assistance was needed.

Cons

I haven’t experienced any major issues with Abtrac based on how I use the product. If I had to suggest an area for improvement, it would be the timesheet approval process, which could be a bit more streamlined and user-friendly. Overall though, the system has worked well for our needs.

Very positive. I run a small consultancy and Abtrac is perfect for easily setting up projects/tasks with budgets and being able to book hours against those projects/tasks then invoice. Reduces the time spent on admin.

Pros

Ease of generating invoices from hours booked to a project, it is also easy and quick to set up new clients and projects. Very good customer service.

Cons

Sometimes I find the Administration > Maintenance section difficult but that could just be that I am not as used to playing in that section.

Generally a good experience - easy to learn how to use this software. Provides useful project tracking features.

Pros

Abtrac provides many useful features for tracking project budgets. They have regular monthly newsletter that provide useful information.

Cons

Word processing for invoices could be smoother, especially for bigger projects where more work has to be detailed.

Reporting / time keeping / project staff & team planning and programming / profitability analysis / resource management / WIP analysis / unbilled time capturing / improved profitability. Biggest benefit - control!

Pros

Ease of use. Capturing every billable minute. Allowing us to gauge profitability of both projects and people enables programming, and resource allocation. We are only just beginning to realize the potential of this invaluable tool. Wonderful Abtrac staff to work with. The technical staff are excellent - professional, knowledgeable, patient, efficient and extremely helpful.
