Pros Our overall experience in dealing with FileChimp is poor. There is nothing positive we have with the software. Its been a complete waste of money. Cons Filechimp does not work with Outlook. It constant needs reinstalling to work with Outlook as it always disappears. Its a complete waste of money. The technical support cannot assist to correct the issue as it always disappears from Outlook. Pros I am a lawyer. I maintain individual client files. I wanted a program that would 1) move Outlook e-mails into my individual client files; and 2) move Outlook e-mails out of the Outlook .pst file, which does not function as well if it gets too large. This program does both of these things. It also has a very nice system for suggesting what client files the e-mails should go into. Cons In my experience, there are a few minor convenience features of the program that on occasion do not work. For example, I have the program set so that, once I have told FileChimp to move an e-mail to a client file, FileChimp then deletes the e-mail from my Outlook inbox. Sometimes that doesn't happen, and I have to delete the file myself. Odd, but not a big deal. I should mention that have a version of the program which is several years old, and this issue may have been fixed. And, in any case, for some reason, I have been seeing this issue less frequently in any case. Reasons for choosing FileChimp It was the only product I could find that moves e-mails from Outlook into normal Windows files, or at least the only one that did so with any degree of convenience. Tagged e-mails are filed in Outlook and in Explorer before I even know that they have arrived, so I don't need to even think about manual filing - which certainly saves me more than a few minutes each and every day. I would highly recommend FileChimp to all small and big businesses, and even for the busy home user!
