I have used Lattice for goals, 1:1 updates, PTO requests, viewing the organization chart, and completing various company surveys. I find all these tasks to be easy to do within Lattice.

Pros

Lattice is easy to learn and provides a lot of features for our company. The ability to find features and information is also easy with the home page and left-hand navigation bar.

Cons

The tool is laid out very well. The biggest compaint about it that I have is understanding how to set up goals. There is a SMART goals section and a grow section. For setting up personal goals, the right selection is "grow", but I often forget and select SMART goals which are more department or company-wide things in my experience with the tools.

Overall I enjoy this system. I think it is a good way to organize your 1:1 meetings, and keep any feedback made my team members that is visible to both yourself and your manager. It is a really organized way to handed yearly reviews and archive the reviews previously received so you can continue to track your goals and your growth.

Pros

I like that peer reviews & self reviews are very organized and simple to navigate on this system .We are also able to ask our peers for feedback throughout the year so we can work on improving our team relations. We are also able to fill out a bi-weekly form saying how we are feeling and what we are working on that week so our supervisor knows if they should reach out to check in.

Cons

A con about Lattice is that it is difficult to attach your calendar on Lattice to your teams calendar. This causes issues when I have a 1:1 approaching but there is no appointment on my calendar made so sometimes I don't always catch the 1:1 meetings with my manager.

I use lattice for weekly supervision or metrics meetings with team. They are able to leave notes or questions for our meetings and I can respond directly on the platform

Pros

I like being able to send or receive feedback. I like being able to schedule recurring meetings with direct reports and keep track of what we spoke about previously.

Cons

The options for talking points are not worded realistically. It seems to not link to calendars very easily either or if an event changes it deletes the entire thing. But that could be user error.

Very good. It's a great tool for managers--makes tracking direct reports activities and growth. The feedback feature also works well. There should be more flexibility with the performance reviews, especially in situations where managers have changed.

Pros

Track 1 on 1s --it's great to share a space with colleagues and direct reports where we can share ideas and non urgent items to discuss at the next touch point.

Cons

Doesn't automatically adjust when 1 on 1s are rescheduled. This leads to notifications that are incorrect. I also would like more flexibility with the weekly updates options.

Lattice has been the premier performance management tool that we have used as a company. They are continuously rolling out new features, have prioritized AI functionality, and have a really great customer support team to help us with all of our questions along the way.

Pros

The customization of question templates and review cycles has been such a pro. We've appreciated the ability to customize permission profiles. The user experience and interface are really easy to follow, and their recent AI phone functionality for review writing and search bar questions is a big time-saver.

Cons

We integrate Lattice with Rippling (our HRIS), and there are some limitations with custom fields for demographic data that will sync between the two systems. Additionally, Lattice doesn't have automated reminders for manual review cycles.

I enjoy my overall experience with Lattice. My current job is the first time I've used Lattice and first time I've been introduced to it. Like I mentioned above, I like the prompts it gives you as talking points for your meetings. I also like how it's easy to write notes and comments as your discussing your meeting in real time, so that you can see your notes and your reviewer can also give you feedback. Lattice is good for review meetings and check-ins which is how I primarily use this ap.

Pros

What I like the most about Lattice is the layout of the website. It has a very clean, easy-to-read setup and makes it easy to maneuver. I use Lattice for my 1-on-1 reviews and check-ins and I enjoy the prompt questions they list out so you have talking points to discuss.

Cons

My only dislike about Lattice is setting up meetings. Since I am used to using Microsoft Outlook's calendar for all my meeting set-ups, I sometimes get confused when I am unable to link my meeting in Outlook with my meeting in Lattice. It's not a huge issue but it would be more streamlined if my meetings could cross over.

Lattice is easy to understand and navigate for the end user, and also integrates with apps like Slack. This makes Lattice easy to use since you can get email and/or Slack notifications.

Cons

Lattice's features and functionality are limited compared to other coaching/feedback software. We ended up switching to another software that had more comprehensive abilities.

I appreciate that our "Praise" channel is integrated within Lattice (or vice versa) - that allows one to document feedback for colleagues and share it with the HR Team while also praising the colleague publicly within the organization.

I would like lattice to be tied to my HR or Benefits which is Rippling

Fantastic - everyone from tech support to our implementation team, customer success representative are so helpful. They are always willing to hear product feedback, accept ideas and help to advise on your strategy. I truly look to the Lattice team as an extension of my own - they are true partners and the gold standard when it comes to customer service.

Pros

With Lattice, not only is the platform great as a full "people success" suite of tools, but it is easy to use and easy to implement and enhance thanks to Lattice's fantastic team of client support (tech support, implementation consultants, customer success reps, etc...). From our perspective, we initially purchased Lattice as a solution to a manual and broken performance management process, but what we got was so much more than that. Now, we are using the tool to help manage and scale our compensation structure and practices across our organization and enhance our bonus payout process using Compensation Cycles. We are also developing comprehensive career pathing tools to help our employees better understand what their career trajectory could look like with us. That alone has helped us improve our people success strategy by lightyears and we are still barely scratching the surface of this tool's true impact and capability.

Cons

Two things - 1. It is not cheap (but with that, you get what you pay for and this tool is worth every penny) and 2. It is very customizable and has a ton of capabilities - so don't go into it without a basic understanding/strategy of how you will use the tools (do this to help maximize your user adoption, spend and overall value)

Reason for choosing Lattice

More robust tool options outside of just performance management.

Overall, we've been using Lattice for 3+ years and have continued to renew each year. I do see them growing in the right direction.

Pros

I really like the 1:1 feature, Updates, and Performance Management features. These are pretty intuitive to get set up and have been really helpful across the company. I like the automations in data within Performance Management and Employee Surveys.

Cons

We tried to implement Grow and I found it confusing and hard to connect to our unique and smaller org. I also have a few small product ticks about easily downloading info or implementing a signing feature to performance reviews.

My experience has been nothing short of amazing. At a previous job, we used Exxcel or paper/pencil. Having the ability to look backwards really motivates me to do better at my job each day.

Pros

Weekly tracking for my 1 on 1's and the ability to share when someone else does an amazing job. The integration with Slack is key as well.

Cons

It would be nice to track improvement over a specific period of time. You can get this information, but seeing it in a graph would be even better.

The tool is very useful and we've had a chance to get things up and running very quickly. We've been bounced around a bit with account managers over the year which has been less than great. Additionally, our account team has not done a great job of providing meaningful quarterly checkins- the usage/adoption metrics they provide are awful which then makes any comparison we draw to our own usage useless. I would suggest working with our team to come up with appropriate adoption targets and then analyzing our actuals against goal for a more meaningful review process.

Pros

The system works well. We rarely see systems bugs and the modules seem to interconnect quite well. Our employees have adopted certain aspects of the tool readily- namely feedback, surveys, 1x1s, and reviews. I like that I can impersonate an employee so I'm able to see what they're seeing in order to provide helpful troubleshooting guidance. The customer support team is excellent.

Cons

Some aspects of the system are not intuitive and it takes multiple clicks to get to an area that shouldn't be buried. For example- a manager of managers who wants to view progress of their direct reports on review completion during the review cycle, really needs to dig to get to the right screen to view progress.

Pros

Lattice is very intuitive in it's design of end employee use. When unrolling new products, leaders and employees are able to absorb navigation fairly quickly

Cons

There's a lot of features that seem to be built off of specific customization or backend architecture set up that doesn't quite connect seamlessly across platforms. For example, some permissions are easily created for the engagement platform that are not available in the Performance Platform. Or there are Feedback Prompts built into the system, but they are not customizable.

It seems there are several useful tools available to both supervisors and direct reports on Lattice, but it's unclear, at least at first glance, exactly what all these tools are, or how to best use them. Because of this, my company mainly only uses Lattice for performance review purposes. Perhaps more time spent watching tutorial videos could help us to better understand the other uses for Lattice, but I can't say the product as is fosters an immediate understanding of the full capability of the software.

Pros

Lattice is an excellent tool when it comes to issuing and completing performance reviews within a given company. Within my company specifically, department heads and supervisors are able to easily issue a set of questions to their direct reports with ease, choosing either a written or number-based response option for each question. Past performance reviews are saved within the system and available to both the supervisor and the direct report, in order to reflect back on past performance reviews and track growth. And there is a "Weekly Update" feature, which prompts you to reflect on your week. This is especially useful when filling out performance reviews, as the weekly updates you've written throughout the past months or year give you a more detailed summary of your performance over a large span of time.

Cons

The user interface is a bit confusing, in that it's not immediately clear what each tab on the Web sidebar does, or what information it contains. When you navigate to the "People" tab, you're able to view individual people, teams, and the full company, as well as milestones, company updates, and OKRs. But there is also another separate tab for OKRs available in the sidebar. The organization of the interface seems that it could certainly be a bit more streamlined, and clear, and perhaps explanations of what each tab is for and how to use it could enable users to better utilize its tools.

I highly recommend lattice for an org of any size. For our org (under 200) it's taking away a lot of the manual work that we would have had to do without it. The implementation is relatively hands off, so it hasn't been too much of a strain on our small HR team.

Pros

The best thing we've experienced so far is the customer support. Best i've had had with an HR platform! Our dedicated support rep is available (with a back up) for as many demos or trainings as we need for our HR staff, leadership, or managers. They also have a chat feature for quick questions! As for the tool itself - really great performance management system. We also use their engagement survey function and Grow. Grow allows us to create competencies and career tracks across any teams, as well as pair our career development with continuous feedback conversations. This has added great value to our org, since this was cited as a missing feature of our previous performance reviews. We're super happy with how the feature has added value to our org and increased our employee engagement and satisfaction!

Cons

We preferred the engagement survey function in culture amp, but only slightly. Lattice does the trick, but is some functionality from culture amp that we miss (assessing how important certain factors are, better ability to sort departments within the system and not just as an integration/data flow from HRIS, customization, making changes after the survey out - to name a few.) The questions are very applicable though.

What I enjoy most about Lattice is the ability to automate things. As a smaller HR team, it is great to utilize a platform that can perform tasks and streamline them.

Cons

I don't have any complaints about Lattice thus far. It has been a great platform and addition to the business. The broader team also seems to feel the same.

Reason for choosing Lattice

We were not reviewing other products. Lattice was the only tool we looked at due to its good reputation in the market.

Pros

Having a central place to manage 1:1s and performance reviews is an improvement to managing those functions in a more ad hoc manner (i.e. in documents, note taking apps, etc.)

Cons

1) The ability to sync action items from 1:1s or goals to other task management applications. Not being able to do so creates duplicate system management issues to have a consolidated to-do list. 2) The ability document ad hoc meetings in addition to recurring 1:1s, using the 1:1 template and functionality. 3) The ability to more easily manage OKRs, including the ability to sort and make bulk updates.
