Pros: Well, for as long as I've used it, I haven't had any network problems. We have been very happy with it.

Cons: Our IT firm recommended it and so they manage all the administration. As of now we have nothing negative to say about it

Pros: Sophos Endpoint Protection is easy to use. I had used another endpoint protection in the past, but it did not handle Macs very well. Sophos works well with Macs.

Cons: While Sophos Endpoint Protection works well with Macs, I don't find it as good as the other endpoint protection software we use. For Windows based machines, I will continue to use our other endpoint protection software.

Pros: Sophos allows us to protect all the devices on our domain and keep them free from virus'. Sophos comes with a simple installer that can be used on either Windows or Mac OSX, this allows for quick, easy installations so we can quickly configure our devices to ensure less downtime. Sophos allows us to create multiple different profiles depending on the user or department. Once the profiles are configured, the permissions will be applied against the device instantly. We can also approve individual websites or applications, this allows us to keep a close eye on devices across the group whilst ensuring security is tight.

Cons: We have noticed with some hardware, although the are the same model, Sophos seems to block one but not the other. Obviously the hardware differs slightly but Sophos should recognise the model. Due to the number of users we have, this is a constant maintenance task.

Overall: Sophos supplies top security with maximum functionality

Pros: Centralized management allows you to see all policy violations / threats in a single place. The actual client tool seems not to take up too much resource.

Cons: The client installer has to be run every time a new machine is added to the domain. The installer also gets out of date and has to be re-downloaded, which is irritating. The dashboard has far too many menus and is difficult to navigate.

Overall: Good endpoint protection tool (we've had no issues) with some minor irritations around setup and management.

Pros: The console view is extremely helpful. I like the notifications and health reports of my protected machines and users.

Cons: Some of the organization is illogical. The encryption is managed separately from other policies. It also over reports problems that correct themselves in a matter of days (like when the users reboots). This tends to make me ignore some problems to see if they persist.

Overall: Centralized control of my diversely distributed user-base. I can make sure that everyone has the software installed and that it is working correctly.

Comments: I have 180 units of which 160 have been migrated to Sophos Cloud. Get at least 2 alerts per day about updating which supposedly can be triggered from the console but when triggered the status does not change. About 1 in 5 of the computers migrated have issues so uninstall/reinstall is required. Cannot effectively disable Tamper Protection using console which is necessary in order to uninstall. Reinstalls/installs fail for various reasons 25% of the time. Having to spend inordinate amount of time with this. NOT A VALID SOLUTION IN MY CASE!

Cons: Console not helpful Lists computers migrated but offers little to help fix issues Alerts are false positive at least half the time.

Pros: Configuring options and scan profiles from the cloud hosted web portal is convenient and easy to keep every machine compliant. Cloud hosted means we don't have to run any infrastructure, just install it on all our endpoints.

Cons: Some complaints that it slows computers way down, opened a support ticket, they were useless, asks the same questions over and over, didn't answer back to my replies for days, convinced me not to renew our licenses.

Comments: Sophos is a giant in the market of enterprise antivirus. Recent years, Microsoft Windows offers free antivirus software with great enterprise management tool. Personally I prefer Microsoft.

Pros: It provides powerful management console for enterprise administrators to deploy agent to workstations, and monitor client status. With simple and clear interface for end user.

Cons: The client agent requires large memory usage, usually at least 1GB. As it has cloud-enabled analysis for unknown websites, client agents will send these website addresses to Sophos server, hence losts of bandwidth is consumed.

Feel safe with Sophos. Great value for the price.

Pros: It just works. There are not too many things I can say that about. Sophos is by far the best Anti-Virus software I have used and I have tried them all. Having it deployed in a corporate environment the past 7 years I can tell you it does work fantastic.

Cons: The Enterprise Console can be a bit laggy and clunky at times and give false information about which machines are updated. But the software works very well overall.

Pros: This product does an overall okay job, easy to deploy with on prem well the cloud solutions. I have them both, what I like about the on prem is the white and black list capabilities the cloud solution lacks.

Cons: - whenever I use this endpoint I have to accompany it with something else due to the lack of it catching malware and spyware, I have had trojan not get picked up from this product but have had other malware products detect and remove them.

Pros: It is very effective at finding and blocking threats. The software has a good reputation and works well. The server software had a lot of controls and gives you the ability to easily group computers and antivirus/firewall settings. I am not familiar with the could version only the self hosted version.

Cons: There are a few issues I have had with it. Deployment using their deployment server has not been reliable for us. It is also tricky to update and migrate to a new server.

Pros: Though I was not involved in software deployment or management, Sophos seems to run very lightly on my system and helps keep my computer safe, without much maintenance from my part.

Cons: Sophos Endpoint Protection is great for checking malware in real time, but the product doesn't allow you to check if you've already accidentally stumbled upon malware (which I guess is why they have other products for this issue).

Pros: Sophos runs flawlessly in the background in our work environment. We utilize it company wide and it is managed by our IT team. They have Web Control over setting scan times without having to "get in the way." We run some powerful software, but have not seen Sophos create a slowdown when running yet.

Pros: It works well when is is up and running but we have had difficulty determining if it's on all the computers without actually looking at each PC. One company I work with requires it's use on computers connected to it's network.

Cons: The company I work with have switched providers based largely on cost and desire for an easier to manage anti virus solution. It has been difficult to uninstall as there are so many components.

Pros: We use Sophos in our district for a number of year and the feature set and ability to micromanage deployment has been great. It has proven to be resilient to virus threats since I started managing it. Customer support has historically been very helpful. I have not tried their cloud based solution.

Cons: It's is trick to setup and difficult to migrate a new server. It also has to deploy a lot of packages on first installation which has proven to be unreliable. We switched antivirus companies due to price.

Overall: A strong antivirus with a solid reputation

Pros: The Intercept-X addon for Ransomware is a must in todays threat landscape. We've had instances where this addon stopped ransomware before it could start to encrypt files.

Cons: There is limited reporting with the cloud version. No cool graphs you can show management or anything like that. Also, email notifications of events seem to be delays often times.

Overall: Great protections from malware and more specifically Ransomware. Also nice using the hosted version so there's one less server to manage on premise.

Pros: Sophos Central's cloud management makes for a much better experience than hosting our own management server internally. Our users get their definition updates from anywhere as long as they have Internet, and the endpoints report back in if they run into any trouble or malware. We know if someone picks up a virus or if their computer stops getting updates or if they call out of configuration compliance through automatic emails from the system, so are able to take corrective action right away.

Cons: Since the management server is in the cloud, it cannot do automatic deployments of the software to our endpoints. You either have to install it manually or have software deployment solution from another source. That being said, its command-line installation options are super easy.

Overall: Catches more malware and PUPs than our previous antivirus product by far!

Pros: I really enjoy the protection I receive from Sophos Endpoint. I use it on both my personal and business computers and I has kept me free from malware and virus'

Cons: The only con I can think of is how draining it can be on my system. When my computers startup, Sophos can bog down the system and force it to run slower than normal. But, for the protection it provides, its worth it.

Pros: Sophos Cloud based management tool makes it easily accessible. Sophos reverse-engineers a program before it runs to see if it malicious.

Cons: Customer support for the product is the worst I have ever seen. Weeks would go by between responses on tickets. I told to white-list Office EXEs to allow Hitman.Pro to not block them. Had to reformat 2 machines because the software did not install/uninstall correctly.

Overall: Full protection suite, when it works correctly, is amazing at it duties. But if it breaks, it is almost impossible to remove.

Pros: This product has special anti-ransomware features. It is also fairly granular in configuration. Once the dust settled after deployment, it seems to be providing better protection that some of the competitive products offered to MSPs.

Cons: I found it requiring a lot of administrative overhead to get it intially configured and deployed. There is a lack of proper documentation in one place to get the MSP/cloud management and deployment properly configured. This product also seemed overly aggressive when still default configuration in place.

Overall: Protection from digital threats. Peace of mind.

Pros: It is cloud based, so you don't need to have software installed on a server and can access from any location. It's also easy to install and supports both Mac and Windows. The dashboard gives an overview of what is going on with your machines. Most times you can clean up things right from the cloud interface, but if manual clean up is required there is generally advice on what to do through links.

Cons: Some of the features take a bit of digging, for example adding exceptions could be an easier process. Also the few interactions I've had with support have been lackluster, even to the point of not getting responses at all.

Overall: Easy to implement, easy to use after figuring out quirks. Cost effective.

Pros: I like the cloud-centric management portal of the product. I, as the administrator, can keep an eye on the entire company. The portal (as well as the endpoint products) are all globally acccessible, too.

Cons: I would like a little more control of the endpoints monitored; sometimes I need a "reach out and touch you" facility. PUA's keep coming up and I'm never sure if I've removed them or not. That goes for several warnings. Some of them are only temporary (missed 2 updates, for example), but they still show up as alerts, even though they have gotten the last 10 updates. And finally, the website restrictions are pretty ridiculously restrictive.

Overall: Fully, cloud-based administration of endpoint protection software.

Pros: Easy to deploy, easy to manage software. Support is pretty good. Endpoint management is simple. For the most part it is pretty accurate in detection.

Cons: Installation requires reboots. Sometimes the software will give you false positives on well know tools. Sometimes I get false positives on things such as psexec. The false positives are the biggest negative.

Cons: Since last year I have started experiencing trouble when backing up my Macs. Somehow there seems to be an cpompatility problem between Sophos and Timemachine and when backing up, I need to turn off scanning and live protection to make sure it goes quick. If it's not turned off, Time Machine announces a backup time of sometimes 120 hours.

Comments: The primary reason for choosing this is the recommendation from our IT support vendor who also manages security. Im thankful for that as I find the interface is not as intuitive as other security products Ive used.

Comments: As we have many Mac and Linux users, we tried to find the best solution for these systems and for Windows as well. Not an easy thing. Finally, despite Sophos was not our choice for Windows, we liked it so much that we decided to choose it for Mac and Linux systems. Sophos EndPoint Protection doesn't eat much resources as many other Antivirus do on those systems which was one of our priority.

Pros: Easy to use Very Low system resources consumption on OS X and most Linux systems. Easy to install and manage. Management Console has everything and looks new and very nice (2016).

Cons: No quick scans. Can not install the agent for OS X and Linux from the management console but it is possible to push it on Windows.

Recommendations to other buyers: Not sure this is the best EndPoint Protection for Windows, but this is actually the best for Mac and Linux users available on the market.

Pros: We evaluated many antivirus and went to the conclusion that none is perfect. Sophos run nice on Mac and Linux, which is hard to find. We had no other options than choice Sophos! All in.

Cons: It installed many services and apps on Windows. When you open add/remove or check the taskmgr, a lot of process!

Recommendations to other buyers: If you have to support Windows, Mac, and Linux, this is the best option
