We needed a Anti Virus solution that worked with remote workers, not connected directly to our servers, Sophos did this for us so Sophos has been a positive experience for us

Pros

The low resource usage and the easy of setup is what i liked most about Sophos, updates all all automatically completed without interaction need from the admin (this is configurable)

Cons

The encryption side of this product didn't work as well as i had hoped, in our environment we have a mixture of devices that can and cant be encrypted, ideally we wanted to select all devices and then Sophos encrypts any devices that have a TPM and leaves devices that do not

Sophos is the lightest antivirus I've had the pleasure working with .It does a great job in the background ,whilst also giving you a sense of security .

Cons

I would love for alternative skin options ,as the white gets a bit heavy on my eyes .

I would only use this product if absolutely necessary.

Pros

The product did do what it needed to do and encrypt the hard drive, but caused issues as an end result.

Cons

encrypting the hard drives worked, but this increased the start up time by nearly 300% as well as removing the product form the computers was a nightmare.

I would recommend this product to any company needing comprehensive endpoint security. BUT make sure to fully understand how the product works before implementing. Sophos has great documentation and support.

Pros

Comprehensive - secures and scans all Email, web, network etc Effective Excellent support and customer service. Priced right.

Cons

Is a bit confusing to setup and configure do to all of the features available. Once it is configured it works like a dream.

User Interface needs an upgrade. It needs to be user friendly.

Pros

virus definitions are up to date compare to other software. Latest protection on ransomware before other softwares implemented this protection.

Cons

Software is not user friendly. for example, updating the virus definition is not one click. You have to go inside the software, right click and then update. Also, there are not much settings/customization you can do to the software compare to Norton.

A strong antivirus with a solid reputation

Pros

We use Sophos in our district for a number of year and the feature set and ability to micromanage deployment has been great. It has proven to be resilient to virus threats since I started managing it. Customer support has historically been very helpful. I have not tried their cloud based solution.

Cons

It's is trick to setup and difficult to migrate a new server. It also has to deploy a lot of packages on first installation which has proven to be unreliable. We switched antivirus companies due to price.

Pros

Sophos is an effective cyber security suite that will definitely keep your computers and data networks safe.

Cons

The user interface is a bit clunky and could use a face lift. The program itself consumes way more processing power than I think it should when opened. It is also a bit more invasive than other more discrete competitors, e.g. popping up on the screen seemingly unprompted to show you a review of the last system scan. Our company stopped using this software after 5 months in operation.

Sophos EndPoint Protection Software seems to be very memory intensive. after installing on a computer I noticed that the memory went up by 25 percent

I absolutely hate this software. Ever since IT installed this garbage on our laptops, everything runs like a sloth. Eats up over 50% of physical memory. If it wasnt for their tamper protection, id delete it. Its like a bacteria that keeps coming back.

Cons

Memory hog, made my work computer a paper weight. Nothing is good about this product. Go with something else

Cloud Management is great. Your able to create policies that are implemented to all clients on the fly. Blocking USB devices has never been easier.

Cons

Since it's cloud managed you required always active Internet connection. It's heavy on network utilization even when not applying new policies.

Pros

It is very effective at finding and blocking threats. The software has a good reputation and works well. The server software had a lot of controls and gives you the ability to easily group computers and antivirus/firewall settings. I am not familiar with the could version only the self hosted version.

Cons

There are a few issues I have had with it. Deployment using their deployment server has not been reliable for us. It is also tricky to update and migrate to a new server.

As we have many Mac and Linux users, we tried to find the best solution for these systems and for Windows as well. Not an easy thing. Finally, despite Sophos was not our choice for Windows, we liked it so much that we decided to choose it for Mac and Linux systems. Sophos EndPoint Protection doesn't eat much resources as many other Antivirus do on those systems which was one of our priority.

Pros

Easy to use Very Low system resources consumption on OS X and most Linux systems. Easy to install and manage. Management Console has everything and looks new and very nice (2016).

Cons

No quick scans. Can not install the agent for OS X and Linux from the management console but it is possible to push it on Windows.

Pros

Very easy install, simply put the install file on our network drive, pushed out the installer through a script to all computers within minutes silently. Within fifteen minutes, I was already receiving notifications of virus / spyware removal from our users computers.

Cons

A number of false positive removals on our users computers. Was easy enough to set a rule to allow, but having to restore all of them was a problem.

What I like best is how light Sophos is ,especially compared to similar products .It does its work in the background ,without causing any performance issues to your device .

Cons

It can be a pain to administrate and customer service communication takes longer than ideal .

Protection from digital threats. Peace of mind.

Pros

This product has special anti-ransomware features. It is also fairly granular in configuration. Once the dust settled after deployment, it seems to be providing better protection that some of the competitive products offered to MSPs.

Cons

I found it requiring a lot of administrative overhead to get it intially configured and deployed. There is a lack of proper documentation in one place to get the MSP/cloud management and deployment properly configured. This product also seemed overly aggressive when still default configuration in place.

Sophos is great at it's job ,protecting your computer . The scans are always comprehensive ,the interface is very user-friendly and there are regular updates ensuring you are safe from the newest threats .

Cons

Being so detailed in it's searches means that it some times marks programs as viruses when they aren't that ,but better safe than sorry.

I have 180 units of which 160 have been migrated to Sophos Cloud. Get at least 2 alerts per day about updating which supposedly can be triggered from the console but when triggered the status does not change. About 1 in 5 of the computers migrated have issues so uninstall/reinstall is required. Cannot effectively disable Tamper Protection using console which is necessary in order to uninstall. Reinstalls/installs fail for various reasons 25% of the time. Having to spend inordinate amount of time with this. NOT A VALID SOLUTION IN MY CASE!

Cons

Console not helpful Lists computers migrated but offers little to help fix issues Alerts are false positive at least half the time.

I like that Sophos works unnoticed . You don't know it's there unless there is a problem ( which is quickly taken care of ) .The scans are comprehensive and quick .

Cons

It benefits from having a centralized ,designated admin who can handle all issues and / or updates and that can be a lot of work for one person .
