April 9, 2018 3.0 Good endpoint protection tool (we've had no issues) with some minor irritations around setup and management. Pros Centralized management allows you to see all policy violations / threats in a single place. The actual client tool seems not to take up too much resource. Cons The client installer has to be run every time a new machine is added to the domain. The installer also gets out of date and has to be re-downloaded, which is irritating. Yes, Macs can get viruses, but they have mostly been a non-issue since we deployed Sophos. Pros It catches most common malware attacks with an easy to manage interface. Sophos run nice on Mac and Linux, which is hard to find. We had no other options than choice Sophos! All in. Cons It installed many services and apps on Windows. Cons Sophos Endpoint Protection is great for checking malware in real time, but the product doesn't allow you to check if you've already accidentally stumbled upon malware (which I guess is why they have other products for this issue). Cons Sometimes it quarantines files that have no business being quarantined . But it is better to be safe than sorry. The product works well and is easy to manage. Pros The admin portal is great. It offers incredible control over individual clients. Reporting is spectacular and give a highly granular view of what's going on. Cons When an install goes wrong it can be difficult to remove and start open. If you can't see the client on the admin console it is nearly impossible to remove the software without manually editing the registry to stop a service from running. Review Source JR Jose R. I had used another endpoint protection in the past, but it did not handle Macs very well. Sophos works well with Macs. Cons While Sophos Endpoint Protection works well with Macs, I don't find it as good as the other endpoint protection software we use. For Windows based machines, I will continue to use our other endpoint protection software.
