Pros: I like that this cloud managed solution works flawlessly. It has good reports and dashboards. Scanning and fixing it actually very good

Cons: I don't like that fine tuning can be pretty difficult and that at first it can be difficult to understand the layout.

Overall: AntiVirus

Pros: This AV is one of the easiest I've installed, especially on a domain. It can push itself out and uses domain credentials to install onto the computers.

Cons: Unfortunately, this AV is a bit of a memory hog. It can slow down older PCs significantly during definition updates and scans. Scanning itself is slower than some of the competition as well.

Really great antivirus software that's incredibly easy to manage and use.

Pros: Very easy to implement and very easy to teach clients how to use. It's great for small businesses and very affordable.

Cons: Not all virus cleaning operations can be done from the cloud management level. You'll sometimes need to get onto the computer and do the removal manually.

Pros: Peace of mind when running this kind of firewall for applications and networks. Simply set up rules once off and group users by domain , thereafter have assurance that every network endpoint is being monitored.

Cons: May be a little intrusive at times when there is an overlap of rules. Works on method of using least privileges . Once the correct skills are put in place though, it is a breeze to set up.

Overall: Complete assurance of network monitoring

Pros: As a System Administrator in healthcare, Symantec has served our organization well. The server management interface is generally easy to use and navigate. Deploying the AV clients to PCs has been easy and generally trouble-free.

Cons: The server management interface can sometimes be slow to navigate and update data for charts, reports, etc.

Overall: Helps keep our organization safe from viruses and malware. Offers multiple types of protection for our client PCs.

Pros: As far as your normal AV, this is your run of the mill these days. It will capture what it can and has a decent amount of features beyond just the normal AV

Cons: This was a great AV in the early 2000s. Since the merging with Norton, it just doesn't seem to have the same quality. AV can be a resource hog and prevent other normal programs from working, that should have no issues. I usually discourage clients from Symantec, if possible.

Pros: Symantec does a great job in terms of blocking viruses, malware, spyware, ads, and it is fast. I use it daily on my PC and as well as at my workplace. The security updates download automatically and daily in the background without bugging the user, I can scan a particular file or directory, i can schedule a scan anytime of my preference, also if a new updates has been installed and if it requires me to reboot my pc, i can choose a later time to perform that task Symantec is great in terms of security, i have a peace of mind when i use Symantec knowing i am safe when browsing the web. Next feature, is the quick customer support, Symantec customers reps are always available at any given time.

Cons: One of the downside of using Symantec is that it takes up a lot of system memory since the applications is always running in background. My RAM space on my PC is 8GB, when Symantec is running in the background it takes up-to 35-45 percent of my RAM, which then i do not have much left of to work with.

Overall: The benefit i get from using Symantec is the peace of mind knowing my personal data is secure at all times, customer support is always ready to help whenever needed; Moreover, Symantec even scans any application that i download from the web, and makes it sure that is it safe before executing the install, that is a huge plus for me.

Pros: It has comprehensive protection for laptops, desktops, servers, mobile devices and messaging infrastructure, integrates preventive technologies, which offers protection against unknown threats, protects against spam and phishing through a very good antispam technology, allows to easily restore data or systems and offers protection against new threats through automatic and event-oriented backups

Cons: Poor performance against some spyware and other threats, regular blocking of incoming scripts against other antivirus and little or almost no compatibility with some firewalls

Pros: Able to build both x32 and x64 install packages and push directly from the management console.
The management console allows the administrator to do basically everything remotely. Such as:
Scan machines, Schedule scans for future, push live updates, view quarantines, see last system scan, see if a scan was cancelled, and much more.
Also able to run reports containing which machines are in red (haven't had an active scan in x amount of time), which machines are clean, etc.

Cons: The administrator must have extensive knowledge of their network and the different locations.
End-users can cause the system to send A LOT of alerts to the admin due to canceling startup scans or trying to disable the software.

Overall: This software keeps my network running CLEAN!
It also allows me to have a one stop shop, so to speak, to view all activities pertaining to my machines and network being in tip top performing shape!

Pros: Symantec Endpoint Protection is one of the most robust antivirus and anti-malware applications on the market. The centralised management make it so easy to to manage thousands of computers from a single console. This is one of the most feature rich antivirus solution I used. The process used to deploy installation to client computers is simple and straight forward. Another feature that will appease administrators is the ability to apply configurations on a mass scale.

Cons: The only con I have is the automatic scanning process uses a lot of resource on the end users computer, which sometimes cause slowness.

Pros: This AV tool is great for larger businesses. The admins can push out updates, policies and so on from one console. Licenses made easy via the server.

Cons: When moving from one provider to another, it's best to use a removal tool from the previous provider. You could end up with two anti virus products on your system and wonder why it's running slow. As a result, moving systems can be a time consuming task.

Pros: The software is great at stopping anything bad into your computer systems. We always felt secure with their software...probably the most secure we have every felt. If security is your top priority, we would highly recommend Symantec.

Cons: Our systems ran slower with Symantec that with other software. To make matters worse, we have a touchy software that accesses a database that seems to really act up when there is a drain on system resources. Sadly, with more of a drain on resources than other software, it also caused more problems with our other software functioning properly.

Pros: Symantec is one of the most known counter malware companies and we decided to give it a try. I don't know if it's a placebo effect, but somehow we feel more secure. Once in a while virus detection or an intrussion attack prevention notification arrives through email and that makes us feel that way.
It is easy to manage and policies can be created just in a few clicks.

Cons: Users with non admin privileges can confirm the execution of blocked apps. Oh Lord! That should not be able happen.

Overall: It protects us against malware and our own people who browse internet and open email attachments blindly, like if nothing could ever happen :(

Pros: Symantec, is a security software suite, which consists of anti-malware, intrusion prevention and firewall features for server and desktop computers and have been using Symantec Endpoint Protection past 15 years in our organization on all Desktops, Laptops, and Servers and all the departments of the organization.we use Microsoft Windows exclusively, so this pertains to Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012 R2 for server operating systems. We have it deployed on Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10 for endpoints.

Basically protecting the corporate network when accessed via remote devices such as laptops or other wireless and mobile devices. Each device with a remote connecting to the network creates a potential entry point for security threats.

The best tool to monitoring N/W security status, activities, software, authorization and authentication.
Symantec is more than antivirus,Effective and accurate antispam protection,Fast protection at the Web gateway,Fast and easy protection,Safeguard intellectual property and finally it's Ensure compliance.

Cons: Having to reboot each client after a version upgrade can be troublesome.
LiveUpdate client sometimes breaks and requires a fix to repair the client. This is needed to ensure the client receives timely updates and definitions.

Overall: Endpoint security securing the endpoints on a network, often defined as end-user devices such as mobile devices, laptops, and desktop PCs, although hardware such as servers in a data center are also considered endpoints and verifies every packet that comes in as well as that goes out.

Cons: A few years, I had to get away from this product because it was a mess, but they got back on board and corrected the problems and still is one of my favorite protection software.
They need to catch up with malware protection. I prefer that they leave the setup to easily be customized for technician's who don't want to install the firewall or data protection on their networks. This has always been a problematic software for many technicians.

Pros: My organization has been using Symantec Endpoint Protection for over 5 years. This software is easy to use and distribute. The centralized admin interface makes it easy to add new devices and see an overall security overview of my organization's assets. The custom policies allow for me to make modifications on specific machines and not effect all the others. I do this to allow exceptions on several of our machines that need it in order to perform their function.

Cons: It isn't easy to temporarily disable for troubleshooting purposes. I need to temporarily disable Symantec so I could download a piece of software it was conflicting with. Had to look up how to do this and it was a multi step process. On the bright side the documentation of how to do it was easy to find and go through.

Overall: Great product. Easy to implement, use and manage. Easy to scale down or up depending on how many devices you have.

Comments: Good quality software; definitely the lesser of many evils out there.

Pros: First and foremost, they are an American company, always a plus. Surprisingly for antivirus software that is hard to find. From the companies I've worked at that have used various protection software's, Symantec was one of the few with not too many issues. I often saw with Kasperksy that it would lock out certain things for the IT department and it was a hassle to fix. Symantec also does not seem to destroy your processor speed like many others. The company systems I am on now just got changed over to McAfee and half your day is spent waiting on the anti-virus to allow your various programs to run.

Cons: Older versions were difficult to manage and the GUI's were not as friendly. This has changed significantly though, for the better. Management for full systems is still on the slow side, hopefully changes will come for this as well.

Pros: It instantly catches any kind of security threats that could damage my computer, viruses, malware, spyware, and has a very good proactive threat protection feature that efficiently manages to contain, quarantine or delete files that represent any risk.

Cons: Updating the virus database may take a long time, and also may slowdown your computer a little bit, it is recommended to schedule all live updates on non working hours.

Pros: I have been using this software for many years and have never had a virus or Trojan. This software has kept my PC safe over the years and has proved to be reliable.

Cons: I would like the live update to make a pop up with the statement that the definitions are current if they are out of date. I like the fact that everything works behind the scenes but I would rather know that everything has been updated.

Overall: This software is great for defending against viruses and Trojans and other online threats. It works well and gives yo peace of mind.

Pros: I like that this software offers different tools I can use to keep my computer protected. I also like I am advised when there are updates on the software to make. The virus reports are easy to read and always give me peace of mind that my computer is safe. It is very interesting to read the detailed report this software provides after you perform a scan to find out what exactly is going on with your computer's safety.

Cons: The cost is high, however what price can you put on protecting your computer. Both at home and work, everything I need is on my computer, so without a program to protect it, life would be pretty nerve-wrecking.

Overall: I am able to keep both my personal files and business files safe by running scans through this software. The detailed reports are fascinating to read through and give me peace of mind.

Pros: Symantec usually doesn't ask questions of users and is great with blocking threats while updating behind the scenes. There are no annoying adds for upgrading software attached to it either. If you want to buy a antivirus and forget about it, Symantec might be the best solution for you. From a network security standpoint - having an administration based protection package is good if you need detailed reports and company wide alerts.

Cons: It costs money. While you might enjoy the lack of adds, and update/registration reminders, it still costs money to buy it. There are quite a few free services that are out there which provide great protection (that is if you don't mind the adds and reminders). Also, from a network administration point, I've noticed the database crashing every few weeks, so it's not terribly unstable - but there are some issues to be aware of.

Pros: Symantec Endpoint Protection has been positive and we are using the product to protect entire users. Symantec Endpoint Security protects our data in the event the laptop is stolen which was very good. It also sends updates on the product which keeps us current, the ability to track each users and ensure that they have the product installed. The option to update to the latest version, the annual renewal is timely by Symantec. We also really appreciate you team that supports us and visit our office periodically to check up on us and other Symantec products we have in our organization.

Cons: Symantec Endpoint Security protects our data in the event the laptop is stolen which was very good however at times it causes the laptop to be a little slow in accessing files and data. It also sends updates on the product which keeps us current but we have to download the updates and send it to each user. The fact that the renewal was doubled for 2017 from what we paid in 2016,

Pros: For an Anti-Virus / Firewall software, it is pretty quiet, meaning that it doesn't pop up all of the time with warnings and alerts, like other programs do. We are using the cloud version of the product, and it seems to work very well, we have email notifications setup, and we will get an email if it blocks something, or someone tries to run a program that it thinks is sketchy, or tries to access a website with some known issues, but otherwise, you install it, and it does its job. I do like the ability that I can sort of customize the install package for mass deployment (we use it with SCCM and its flawless), it will allow me to pick the group of computers that I want the laptop or desktop to belong to and I push that package during our SCCM task sequence, and after that I don't have to login to the symantec portal to move it, or manage it since my policies are already established.

Cons: I think the online interface is a bit cumbersome. I think that from the firewall perspective it seems a bit difficult to make it do what you want it to do, and unfortunately, their support is not incredibly helpful in this regard, at least in my previous experience. My biggest complaint is that if I reimage a computer, and re-use the same name, it makes a duplicate entry / assigns another license until I go out to the symantec portal and delete the previous record.

Overall: Antivirus / Malware protection, and endpoint firewall protection.

Pros: Most virus programs are in-your-face with warnings and anything else they can find to occupy screen space. Thankfully that's not the case. You can scan when you want and what you want, and I'm assuming it's always keeping things in check in the background.

Cons: As a user and not an administrator, I find it feels lackluster in its capabilities. It's hard to tell if it feels like it's working sometimes.

Comments: We have been using SEP for several years now and it has provided excellent protection. The updates are timely and have not had any serious infections. We could not be happier with the product.

Pros: The LiveUpdates are timely and do their job. The patches can be pushed enterprise-wide with ease. The biggest pro is that it works. For an Enterprise protection software, that is the key selling point.

Cons: We have had an occasional hiccup where the end users need to manually update their virus definitions and there are no notifications that it needs to be done. This can cause users laptops to be blocked from our VPN until they manually push the update. It is not a problem really, just an inconvenience.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would highly recommend this product to any companies looking for enterprise protection.

Overall, managing AV on your desktops/servers is pretty simple with SEP. The ability to have it receive it's definitions from the SEP Manager as well as from Symantec directly in the event the SEPM is unavailable is great.

The Symhelp tool is great for analyzing a possible infection in your system to then send to support to analyze.

Comments: It provides multiple levels of security to an organization's network. Installation is smooth and doesn't take a lot of time. It's management is convenient using a central console.

Pros: It provides complete flexibility to the administrator. He can chose to install updates and patches directly at the endpoints or can push to each endpoint using the server. It is very effective in detecting malware owing to it's Insight platform.

Cons: Customer care does not respond in time and at times the antivirus consumes a lot of CPU resources causing workstations to become unresponsive.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would recommend it to all organizations for securing their business networks without spending a lot. Currently, it can be only be deployed as on-premise solution, so it is not suitable for organizations looking for a on-demand solution.

Pros: The workstation deployment is very straight forward and updates can be easily pushed out. The antivirus protection is dependable and the firewall is flexible yet extensive enough to offer a solid protective layer.

Cons: The technical support documentation and support can be less than straight forward. If you encounter an error getting through support to get the correct answer may take some time.

Recommendations to other buyers: This is great software for small and mid sized companies but this does require an administrator with a solid understanding of your network and your business rules. It can be processor intensive when scanning so be sure to schedule scans for off peak periods.

Pros: Our students can no longer infect our systems with viruses or play unwanted games by way of thumb drives.

Cons: It causes the computers to sometimes get slow and unresponsive to user input. You sometimes have to turn on the computers for a few minutes before you can use them.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you have a large number of systems and it's hard to monitor users activities, then this is the software for you to get. It allows you to limit users activities based on your preferences.

Pros: Symantec offers several great security applications and utilities. So regardless of your size and budget, there is something suited for your system, whether home or enterprise.

Cons: For some unknown reason, the Endpoint Manager stopped servicing the client computers with updates. This caused the client machines to act unresponsive after the booting process.

Recommendations to other buyers: The Endpoint Protection package has all the different layers of protection your systems need, all included in a single installation.

Pros: You can control your security by giving only certain users the ability to use removable devices.

Cons: This would have to be the high memory used by the program. You need at least 4 gigs of ram to properly run it.

Recommendations to other buyers: Symantec Endpoint offers the most complete network protection available. It protects from attacks originating from different sources whether local or external.

Pros: When compared with other security programs, Endpoint does not interfere with the regular everyday use of your computer. There are not many nagging notifications or any loss of functionality when something goes wrong.

Cons: Not to rant, but I think Symantec should focus more on improving the negative performance effects faced by some users. The application places too much of a strain on the system. To fully enjoy the benefits of the software, users would be forced to upgrade their hardware, which means more cost.

Recommendations to other buyers: Symantec has the largest database of known threats, so if your network comes under attack, Endpoint Protection will stop it before any harm is done. There is the proactive threat function that disables programs suspected of malicious actions.

Pros: Symantec security features and settings are all centrally located and managed from one location. Their threat protection mechanism is sometimes capable of detecting unknown threats based on their behavior.

Cons: When there is a problem with the endpoint protection manager, the client computers do not update themselves from the internet. Therefore, your systems may become vulnerable to recently discovered threats until it is running again.

Recommendations to other buyers: There are not many viable options when it comes to a comprehensive security solution. Symantec Endpoint Protection is the most convenient and realistic approach when it comes to network and computing security.

Pros: Symantec endpoint protection offers multiple layers of protection, not just virus protection. There is no need to purchase several different software products for security purposes.

Cons: This antivirus does not run well on our older computers. We may need to do a memory upgrade before we can re-install the software on them.

Recommendations to other buyers: We were introduced to this software by a sales rep when we purchased another software. The price seemed reasonable for the number of licenses. Totally worth the money.

Pros: The installation process was relatively easy. I say relative because I had to install it two or three times. The software ran smoothly and eradicated any bugs present. It manages the firewall effectively and updates itself regularly. It gives us peace of mind that if and when any viruses pop up, they'll be taken care of. It's worth the money.

Cons: There's not much that I don't like about Symantec, except that I had to uninstall and reinstall it a few times.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you're looking for a superior product that offers complete protection this is the product for you.

Pros: Symantec Endpoint Protection works in a visualization environment, and this is definitely a great feature.

Cons: A quick or full system scan is sometimes painfully slow, and it sometimes renders the computer unusable.

Recommendations to other buyers: Based on my experience, the performance of Symantec is much better on a Windows 8 machine than on one running Windows 7 or XP.

Pros: It can be remotely deployed to Mac clients as well as Windows machines.

Cons: While not being extremely demanding on system resources, there are, however, some noticeable system lags during certain operations such as system shutdown.

Recommendations to other buyers: Compare which software version and type you need so that you won¿t pay for a lot of features that you don¿t or won¿t be using.

Pros: There are a lot of things to love about Symantec Endpoint Protection. The main thing is the ability to stop infections coming from flash drives. You can lock down removable devices so that programs cannot be run from them.

Cons: The system performance suffers a bit during starting and shutdown. This however improves over time.

Recommendations to other buyers: Symantec Protection combines most of the security features needed to protect your network from harmful threats both locally and externally.

Pros: Symantec Endpoint Protection combines antivirus, anti-malware, anti-spyware, and firewall protection all in one package. This eliminates the need to purchase several different solutions, thus saving time and money.

Cons: The software packages are heavily bloated, even though they are compressed. Also, a corrupted installation is not easily removed and will cause system stability problems, requiring a fresh installation.

Recommendations to other buyers: Symantec Endpoint Protection is a good choice for medium-to-large-sized networks. It is easy to deploy to your workstation and laptops and is relatively easy to configure, install, and maintain.

Pros: Everything about SEP is a winner. The firewall is one of the best, the device manager gives control over your devices, and the virus and spyware application is every virus' nightmare.

Cons: It has caused my system to crash a few times, which was caused by some database files to my C: drive to its maximum capacity. I have had to constantly delete them manually, but I found a fix later.

Recommendations to other buyers: The antivirus protection runs pretty well on most operating systems as long as there is enough memory and a multiple-core CPU. The processing requirements are very high.

Pros: Symantec gets a 10 out of 10 for its stability. I love that it comes from a trusted leader in security applications and not a "just come" wannabe software firm.

Cons: The size and number of updates can put a strain on your internet connection, especially if you just did a clean installation.

Recommendations to other buyers: Whether you have a small, medium, or large-sized company, Symantec can take care of your needs. We have it running on our application and file server, plus four desktop workstations.

Pros: The application and device control are very useful tools that limit attacks from removable devices.

Cons: The minimum stated system requirements are way inadequate to run the application. I suggest twice the amount stated.

Pros: The firewall and intrusion protection is one of the best available, along with the malware and spyware engine.

Pros: The price is pretty reasonable for the suite of products you receive, and also the ability to install on multiple computers is well-suited for our organization.

Cons: In my opinion, the detection rate of new viruses could be improved; it is sometimes slow in detecting viruses that other products have detected.

Recommendations to other buyers: Symantec has gotten a lot better with the latest version of endpoint protection. The program no longer affects system performance like it used to.

Pros: Symantec Endpoint Protection gives the administrator complete control of the installations on the network. Also, the remote management feature is really handy.

Cons: Since installation, I have noticed that client machines sometime take a full two minutes to receive an IP address from the DHCP server. I'm not sure why this is happening.

Recommendations to other buyers: Symantec is used by most financial institutions, universities, and companies. They have the strongest reputation of providing enterprise-level security solutions for all types of companies.
