McAfee constantly has annoying popups that stop me from using my computer asking us to "buy our software" (harassment) - If you want us to buy your software, give us a good product. Pros It's easy to use and not a bad one for being free, that being it's biggest pro, it's also very well known, being reached with their marketing. Cons I feel like out of all the free products, it's not really the best one to have, I haven't tried the paid version so I can't comment on that one. Pros As well as the ease of installation, the handling and interaction with the software is very practical, and the interface proposes very clearly what you want to run on the cell phone. The free version helps a lot to prevent bad sites. Cons Regarding the software I have nothing negative to say. Cons I havent ran into many issues, probably probably biggest one for me is making sure the settings for what is and isn't blocked are appropriate, their are some good things that struggle to make it through. And a lot of what this missed, SEP caught. I feel this software, with missing a lot of malware, and a convoluted ePO manager, just doesn't stand up to par with other vendors' solutions. I had always been a home user of McAfee, and so wanted to like the business solution, but it just didn't hit for us. Pros The software mostly made itself unobtrusive to our staff. And it did have a lot of reporting features we liked, as well as option. Cons The management side was too convoluted to make management it efficient for us. Other software providers have an easier management system. Reason for choosing Trellix Endpoint Security Actually, in the end, we decided to switch AWAY from McAfee Endpoint Security. McAfee cannot compare to industry leading AV vendor solutions although the free version is great for home use if you want the placebo of being protected. Cons However, I did find that if you don't renew the rather expensive subscription, the software starts to act like a virus- it bogs down your computer, is constantly putting a pop-up in the way while I am working on my computer, and like I said - there are cheaper options that work just as well or better. Pros I liked most that I could set up scans on my computer and it would tell me when I had threats and when they had been removed. It’s a pretty convenient software. Cons Sometimes it will seem like the scans lag or like they aren’t progressing like they do all the time. There have been times that I have had to exit and try the scan again. Pros McAfee is the recommended virus protection software from Lenovo, and came pre-installed with my laptop. It was easy to extend the trial into a full version, which is where the pros end for the software. Cons The McAfee user interface is clunky and outdated. However, it is somewhat resource intensive when a scan is running. But I think the safety is worth it. Pros McAfee is a decent tool that can help protect your computer from threats such as virus and malware. It offers a VPN which I find very useful along with other features such as scheduled scanning and internet security. It also offers a password manager which is useful. On idle, the software does not use a lot of resources which is great. Cons One of the least likes features about this software for me are the popups that come up aa I turn on the computer. Pros It was a free service that came with my Internet and I was somewhat familiar with their software so I gave McAfee a try. Cons The software was unable to detect a major virus in my desktop. Other than that, the software seemed more generic than useful to me.
