Pros McAfee is a trusted name and I feel safe trusting them with my security. Takes care of virus protection, firewall, etc. Cons The price initially seemed high but after use, it is definitely worth it. It is amazing to see how many threats that this software has prevented. I pointed out the shortcomings of McAfee as compared to more current Antivirus softwares, and the office quickly switched to ESET Pros It is very easy to set up, especially if you opt for the professional installation. As long as your shields are active, you shouldn't ever really need to mess with configuration Cons Customer service is terrible; sure they will send the installer out same day, but don't expect replies back from any inquiries. McAfee is also well known for not being the most secure anymore; some antivirus options like Bitdefender update their virus definitions weekly or even daily... However, in comparison to others, such as Norton (my favorite), I do not think this one is as good. I have only used it at times in the past due to it being free. Again, I think one should use it if one has nothing else to protect one's computer/laptop. The main pro for this is that it is often free. Cons I just do not think that this software is as effective at catching problems, viruses, etc. as other software like Norton. Other software is more expensive but more efficient. I would go with another option if at all possible. Pros Free software that came with my computer, that's about it. Cons McAfee came free with my laptop purchase. I tried it out for the first month or so after purchasing my new laptop and was not impressed in the least. Several viruses and other malicious software were not detected and slipped onto my computer. Support really wasn't that helpful either, they recommended getting a 'better , paid ' version to get more comprehensive scans and results.
