We run a curated DTC outdoor and lifestyle catalogue, so buying decisions are unforgiving — get it wrong and you're either sitting on dead stock or out of your best sellers. Inventory Planner has made those calls far more confident. The connectivity with our WMS is the foundation of it. Stock positions, inbound deliveries and sales data all flow through cleanly, so the buying recommendations are based on what's actually in the warehouse rather than a snapshot from last week. That single sync has saved us hours of reconciliation every month. What's kept us on it is how much you can tailor. Lead times, safety stock, seasonality, replenishment rules by brand and category — nothing is locked into someone else's idea of how our business should work. We've shaped the forecasting around our own buying cycles rather than the other way round. The customer support deserves a mention of its own. Responses are fast, come from people who clearly understand inventory planning rather than reading from a script, and they've helped us configure things properly rather than just closing tickets. That's rare. Highly recommended for any e-commerce business that's outgrown spreadsheets.

Pros

\-Connectivity with our WMS -Shaped forecasting around our own buying cycles -Customisable -Customer support

Cons

\-Sometimes the platform is on the slow side, perhaps due to our large SKU catalog. -The API could be improved.

Our overall experience with Inventory Planner has been positive. It has helped us move away from relying heavily on manual spreadsheets and has given us a more structured approach to forecasting and replenishment.

Pros

The platform provides a clear overview of stock levels, sales performance and future purchasing requirements. Its replenishment recommendations help us identify products that may run out of stock and products where we may be holding too much inventory. It is particularly useful when managing a growing number of products and variations. The customer service and account-management teams have also been responsive and helpful.

Cons

The initial configuration requires time, and some reports take a while to fully understand. Forecasts should also be reviewed rather than followed automatically, particularly for seasonal products, promotions or products with limited sales history.

Overall, Inventory Planner has become a core part of how we plan and manage stock. It's replaced a lot of manual spreadsheet work with data-driven forecasting that accounts for seasonality and sell-through across a fairly complex SKU range — multiple colors, sizes, and categories. There was a bit of a learning curve getting comfortable with the interface, but once we did, it made our replenishment process noticeably more accurate and efficient. It's a tool we now rely on weekly and would recommend to any growing brand managing multiple SKUs.

Pros

Pros: Forecasting accuracy is the standout feature — it picks up on seasonality and sell-through trends across our SKUs, colors, and sizes that we'd have missed doing this manually. It's cut down hours of spreadsheet work and made our replenishment orders far more reliable, with fewer stockouts on bestsellers and less overstock on slow movers.

Cons

Cons: The learning curve is real — with the volume of data it handles, it took some time before we felt confident navigating the interface and trusting the recommendations. A more guided onboarding for new users would help shorten that ramp-up period.

Inventory Planner has become an important part of our inventory management process. It has simplified stock management, improved purchasing decisions and given us much greater visibility of future demand and inventory levels across the business. The software is intuitive to use and makes complex inventory planning much easier to understand. It has helped us become more proactive rather than reactive when managing stock and purchasing. Our only significant challenge has been ensuring the integration with our ERP supports our manufacturing workflows correctly. This has been more about configuring the integration than the software itself. Overall, we're very pleased with the product and would recommend it to businesses looking to improve inventory planning, forecasting and purchasing control.

Pros

Inventory Planner has significantly simplified our stock management and purchasing processes. The forecasting tools and purchasing recommendations make it much easier to plan ahead with confidence, helping us reduce manual analysis and make more informed decisions. The dashboards provide excellent visibility of inventory, future demand and purchasing requirements, allowing different teams across the business to work from the same information. The system is intuitive to use, and once implemented it quickly became part of our day-to-day operations. Customer support has also been responsive whenever we've needed assistance, helping us get the most from the platform.

Cons

The integration can require careful configuration, particularly for manufacturing businesses with Bills of Materials, assembly processes and different purchasing versus stock units. Once configured it works well, but businesses with more complex workflows should expect to invest time in getting the setup right.

Thank you for this detailed review! It's great to hear the forecasting tools, purchasing recommendations, and dashboards have simplified stock management and given your teams shared visibility to plan ahead with confidence. We also appreciate you flagging the configuration effort for manufacturing workflows with BOMs and different purchasing/stock units — that's valuable feedback, and we're glad it's working well once set up. We'll make sure this is passed along to help us improve setup for similar businesses. Thank you as well for the recommendation — we're proud to support your inventory planning!

We originally adopted Inventory Planner to fill Brightpearl’s lack of native assemblies before transitioning to its true strength in forecasting, and that’s where the software has proven its value. The platform rewards the time spent fine‑tuning lead times, days of stock, and forecasting models, and our implementation consultant was excellent in guiding us through the process. It also accommodated our more complex setup where transfers between two legal entities required both a purchase order and a corresponding sales order to flow between systems, and Inventory Planner provided the controls needed to ensure those orders were excluded from demand forecasting so they didn’t distort actual sales trends. Once configured, Inventory Planner effectively replaced Brightpearl’s limited forecasting tools and became our primary workflow for building purchase orders before pushing them into Brightpearl.

Pros

Inventory Planner offers highly granular forecasting tools that let you tailor algorithms, seasonality settings, stockout corrections, wholesale‑exclusion logic, and even per‑warehouse lead times at the product level, which makes it extremely powerful once you dial in the right parameters. Its integration with Brightpearl is flexible enough to support complex workflows—such as excluding intercompany transfers between different legal entities from forecasting—so the data stays clean, and once everything is configured, creating purchase orders in Inventory Planner and pushing them to Brightpearl becomes a smooth, reliable process.

Cons

When we initially used Inventory Planner for assemblies—a secondary feature—it had a couple of limitations with the Brightpearl integration: assemblies always picked component inventory using FIFO with no way to override location choice, and there was no simple way to break down an assembly without manual adjustments. Outside of assemblies, the platform’s depth does come with a learning curve, and while support eventually resolved a reproducible UI bug we reported, they only prioritized it after escalation.

We also appreciate your candid feedback regarding assemblies, usability challenges, and support escalation. Pros

Inventory Planner gives us a clear and reliable forecasting framework that makes purchasing significantly easier. The interface is intuitive, and the tool provides actionable insights rather than just raw data. Creating and reviewing replenishment recommendations is fast, and the system helps us confidently manage stock levels across many SKUs and suppliers. It has noticeably reduced guesswork and improved the efficiency of our small purchasing team.

Cons

A few reports could load faster when working with large datasets, and certain bulk-edit features would make workflow even smoother. Overall, these are minor issues compared to the value the tool provides.
