We needed to identify what was selling, what was dead stock and what we likely to run out of before the next delivery arrived. With long lead times this is tough to manage but IP has really helped us step the business up.

Pros

\* Easy to get started, although takes some work to set it as needed \* Excellent API for automating works flows \* Pricing and automated price reduction when your stocked items falls \* Summary level and detail drill downs allow questions to be answered and reviewed in one place \* First rate suppport team

Cons

\* Company has grown quickly and there have been occasional bugs or issues that have impact on availability \* reconciling invoices against POs is tricky as there are not enough "extra charges" boxes and no way to reconcile multiple invoices against a single unless you keep a separate record outside of IP

Good. I have used this software for a year now, and have just renewed our contract, due to the product working well for our business needs.

Pros

Overall product is very good for our business needs. We did have initial teething problems, which were quickly rectified by the team to ensure the forecast works better for us. Additionally, my account managers \[sensitive content hidden\] have only ever been helpful, and have guided me along the way with anything I was unsure on.

Cons

Missing some aspects to provide better forecasting (e.g, ignoring periods where an item is in the sale thus falsely inflating R.O.S, or ability to deduct smaller PI's from a larger one).

### "Great when it works...infuriating when you need customer service"

Was good until the massive holes in their CS capacity became apparent. We can't have this much liability in a system that is so integral to our business planning. Ugh.

Pros

It mostly does what it needs to, except when it doesnt.

Cons

My biggest gripe is with the customer support. It's simply not designed to be able to manage wide scale issues with their system. They have no direct phone number to call, and their chat system is a queue, meaning they get to you when they get to you. This isnt such a big issue with small problems with single accounts, but when they have a system issue effecting many accounts it means replies take days...and those replies are short and terse without offering any resolution. Right now the system has been an issue for about 1 week. Their "resolution" to the wide-spread issue was to move to a restore point from many days before the problem occurred. This means all the data that was input in the interim is missing. This means I have 15 missing POs. This means my inventory check-in from the past however many days is no longer accurate. These problems will persist for months as we discover them. The reply from their support....what reply? We are looking at other systems for management because we cannot operate a business like this.

Reason for choosing Inventory Planner

It had the features we wanted at a good price.

It handles complex multi-supplier environments with ease—we manage over 3,000 SKUs across 20+ suppliers—and its predictive models have notably increased our ordering precision. A key advantage is the ability to import external data via Google Sheets, enabling us to implement custom logic and accommodate edge-case workflows that fall outside the scope of built-in connectors. The reporting capabilities are comprehensive, with flexible filters and export functions that facilitate in-depth analysis. Since adopting the platform, we’ve streamlined our procurement processes and significantly reduced excess inventory.

We signed up to to improve forecasting and stock supply for a retail location, ecommerce store and Amazon FBA. Previously all of this work was done in spreadsheets, but rapid business expansion and an increase in suppliers made this process increasingly laborious. Inventory Planner has greatly assisted us, leading to few stock-outs and the ability to better deal with surges in customer demand.

Pros

Required replenishment is automatically flagged based on historical demand, making it easy to identify the lines which need some attention. Forecasts are accurate and the per-SKU 'dashboard' summarises a lot of information in one place. PO creation is quick and very customisable. The overstock feature gives us a steer on which lines require some promotion.

Cons

Having mastered the basics, there's a sense that we could be getting more out of the system. But there's no clear path to achieving that without sitting through hours and hours of webinars in the hope of spotting the nuggets of information we'd find useful. Some of the UX in product/bundle setup isn't as intuitive as it could be.

is now a fundamental tool in our daily operation. It has made our purchasing process much more efficient. Support is always only a few minutes away if needed.

Pros

Reporting (especially Inventory KPI report) and transparency of stock levels within the Replenishment function have added a lot to our operations. With , our warehouse stock holding has decreased significantly. Stock turn has improved greatly allowing us to focus on investment in new lines.

We were using IP for 4 years prior to moving to Brightpearl, and have continued to use IP for our purchase order generation, plus relying on it for a full stock and sales history going back to go-live date. Our sales are somewhat unpredictable due to growth so we tend to do our forecasting 'off platform' but for the monthly cost we haven't found a credible alternative and would recommend it.

Pros

Full and comprehensive stock and sales history, reportable at any month-end in the past. Quick, helpful and responsive support team. Full audit trail for Purchase Order generation and updates.

Cons

We're a small and rapidly growing company and this makes our forecasting something we need to do more manually, off the platform.

Outstanding. For the price, the customer support, the training webinars and youtube videos, detailed documentation - it really is unrivalled and we have tried so many different systems. Thoroughly recommend!

Pros

It is very fast, never having to wait around for it to load up and recompute constantly. It syncs all the data in the background every few hours which means rapid use. The forecasting is top notch and takes into account so many variables, seasonality, vendor/product growth and much more and then simply advises you the amount to order. Again based on minimum order quanties, carton quantities, pack sizes etc. This makes for easier ordering and our suppliers appreciate our Purchase Orders matching their systems. also integrates seemlessly to a ton of different systems which we also use and makes it very fast and easy to use for the whole team. You can also export orders and data very fast to excel/csv, we can pull data from tens of thousands of products with all their forecast data from inventory planner to excel in less than ten seconds.

Cons

Nothing! Genuinely nothing at all, just wish I had found it sooner.

We ended up cancelling our subscription, as the daily emails (seemingly a wonderful idea) only created more work and confusion. It wasn't worth the cost.

Pros

\- daily emails give insight into out of stock and low stock items, makes it easy to react to conditions. Emails are highly customizeable to narrow into what you want to see. - incredible reporting tool, lots of insights and factors you can add into reports (such as taking into account sales and holidays and how that impacts demand numbers) - great way to narrow down and analyze individual skus, sales history and forecasting - integrated seamlessly with Magento

Cons

\- daily emails can be off by a day. Tried working with customer support on this (for example, item was out of stock, came back in, is up and available on website, but daily email the next day still shows it out of stock). Customer support unable to fix, created more work having to look into individual skus.

Very quick and easy to understand where your inventory problems are at, how much you should be ordering, and alerts to bring issues to your attention proactively.

Pros

The ease of navigating your entire inventory picture is hard to beat. They've done a great job with all relevant info at your fingertips and with lots of customizability on what info to show, and pop-ups with other critical info to condense a lot of information in a compact area. Just one example is the Demand Planning capability: It allows you to see at a glance whether you've had stock-outs of a product in the last X months, how many units per month you've sold, incorporates that into a forecast, but then also allows you to simply see that info and make your own determination for demand. In that same Replenishment area of the product, you can see shipments you have on the way and when they're scheduled to arrive, how many days/months of stock you have and PO cover ordered, etc...It will even take into account how much you're going to lose in sales dollars per day if you stock out. All of this integration with BrightPearl is excellent. We haven't even scratched the surface of the reporting features yet, but they are plentiful. Support has also been excellent and they've added features we needed based on our feedback.

Cons

Purchase orders could use a bit more customizability. A few more custom fields so that we can add extra info on line-by-line basis as needed would be great.

We continue to be pleased with our experience and there is certainly more functionality to be explored, if we can invest more time I am sure we can get more value from the software.

Pros

The onboarding and patience of \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] and the team has been second to none. They invested time into understanding our issues and find solutions for the complexity encountered in our business. The software is good value for money as we have limited time to spend on forecasting, IP helps us keep us in check and identify OOS risks. It also helps us forecast demand across multiple warehouses which are fed from our main warehouse. It's a good bolt on for anyone using Unleashed inventory software.

Cons

It can be a bit slow at refreshing but this is a minor issue!

The amount of useful features! It's a great tool for Inventory Management and analysis.

Cons

I thought that during the implementation phase we would have a contact person to have a call with in case of an issue. Our assigned project manager was very slow in responding and not really helpful in fixing certain issues. So I think the implementation phase is a bit overpriced. However, the Customer Support team is very helpful and can be contacted via mail or chat.

I really like the forecast setting of . It is great that you can customize the forecast down to the variant level. It is extremely beneficial in trying to plan for growth of the upcoming months, seasons, or years.

Cons

The software does not link to our back office system, so create CVS to upload all my daily sales data information is very time consuming.

### "Great Functionality and Support"

I have IP bolted on to the side of Cin7. The user interface of IP is MUCH better than Cin7. Short time user, but hugely impressed.

Pros

Very robust. Takes some time to learn the details. Incredibly capable. Great user interface. Support during my free trial has bee fast and effective.

Cons

Wish that there were totals for more columns in the Replenishment and Out Of Stock screns.

Reason for choosing Inventory Planner

Better price, UX and functionality. More confidence in the company.

### "Inventory Headaches"

It's great for shops with lots and lots of inventory.

Pros

I am using a FREE trial of this software to see how it can help me manage my inventory between my etsy shop and square and shopify.

Cons

You need to take time to learn how to use this software. It's not just plug and chug. Although, the more you use it, the easier it gets.

### "Powerful Forecasting with a Learning Curve and a Few Integration Quirks"

We originally adopted to fill Brightpearl’s lack of native assemblies before transitioning to its true strength in forecasting, and that’s where the software has proven its value. The platform rewards the time spent fine‑tuning lead times, days of stock, and forecasting models, and our implementation consultant was excellent in guiding us through the process. It also accommodated our more complex setup where transfers between two legal entities required both a purchase order and a corresponding sales order to flow between systems, and Inventory Planner provided the controls needed to ensure those orders were excluded from demand forecasting so they didn’t distort actual sales trends. Once configured, Inventory Planner effectively replaced Brightpearl’s limited forecasting tools and became our primary workflow for building purchase orders before pushing them into Brightpearl.

Pros

offers highly granular forecasting tools that let you tailor algorithms, seasonality settings, stockout corrections, wholesale‑exclusion logic, and even per‑warehouse lead times at the product level, which makes it extremely powerful once you dial in the right parameters. Its integration with Brightpearl is flexible enough to support complex workflows—such as excluding intercompany transfers between different legal entities from forecasting—so the data stays clean, and once everything is configured, creating purchase orders in Inventory Planner and pushing them to Brightpearl becomes a smooth, reliable process.

Cons

When we initially used for assemblies—a secondary feature—it had a couple of limitations with the Brightpearl integration: assemblies always picked component inventory using FIFO with no way to override location choice, and there was no simple way to break down an assembly without manual adjustments. Outside of assemblies, the platform’s depth does come with a learning curve, and while support eventually resolved a reproducible UI bug we reported, they only prioritized it after escalation.

has become a core system in our purchasing process. It helps us prevent stockouts, avoid over-purchasing, and maintain healthy inventory levels. The forecasting accuracy is strong, and the platform allows us to turn insights into purchase orders quickly. It saves us hours each week and gives us confidence in our ordering decisions. For an e-commerce company dealing with international suppliers and long lead times, Inventory Planner has been a major operational improvement.

Pros

gives us a clear and reliable forecasting framework that makes purchasing significantly easier. The interface is intuitive, and the tool provides actionable insights rather than just raw data. Creating and reviewing replenishment recommendations is fast, and the system helps us confidently manage stock levels across many SKUs and suppliers. It has noticeably reduced guesswork and improved the efficiency of our small purchasing team.

Cons

A few reports could load faster when working with large datasets, and certain bulk-edit features would make workflow even smoother. Overall, these are minor issues compared to the value the tool provides.
