It gives us reliable demand forecasting and helps us plan inventory more accurately, which has reduced stockouts and excess stock. The interface makes it easy to see what we need to reorder and when, which saves time compared with manual spreadsheets. Cons There’s a short adjustment period to understand all the settings and forecasting options, once we had it configured it quickly became a valuable tool for planning. The insights into trends and reorder recommendations have helped us make better purchasing decisions and stay lean without compromising availability. Overall, Inventory Planner has improved our inventory visibility and made planning much more manageable. Replenishment tool makes this joyful. More over we have reduced overstock to the vast extent of our inventory and we are able to elimanate stock outs, given that the suppliers have no stock outs on their side. Support team is always available to help, which is a great reassurnace, especially when begining to use Inventory Planner. A plus in the business productivity scale, once you start using it, you can't do with out it! Pros Replenishment tools makes restocking almost instant. We have been using it since November 2020 and has become the ultimate everyday tool for us. Cons As all great tools you have to invest some time to get a hold of all each features. We also use this tool to forecast the annual production plan and the monthly replenishment we need. Pros We can centralize all our channel information within a single tool. It also allows us to easily input replenishment needs for our products. Cons Limited flexibility in customs reports, which may make it harder to adapt to specific market or regulatory requirements. It has also allowed us to onboard new brands with confidence knowning we can expand without putting too much cash in slower moving inventory. Pros The implementation is very easy with almost a few clicks and your datat begins to pull through. It has allowed us to correctly forecast the stock required for the given lead time and days of stock which we require which has meant that our out of stock days on items has reduced dramatically and also allows us not to overstock. Cons The only issue that we have had is that sometimes the reports do not work out of the box so some configuration on the data is required in order to get the information that you require. Customer service is top notch, very quick and comprehensive support. Pros Responsive customer service and user friendly platform. We came across from Cin7 which was missing a few key features we needed that IP had. Cons Forecasting algorithm still needs some improving however we are working with IP to hopefully get this perfect soon. Quite pricey but if we can resolve the issues I would confidently say it was worth it. There was excellent training that was interactive. I had great customer support via the chat when I was struggling with a report. The system has taken over multiple spreadsheets by multiple people. We are saving so much time, and forecasting even more accurately. Pros I can forecast inventory more accurately and it's easy to use. I can run reports quickly and tailor them to what I need on the fly. Cons That I didn't have it sooner! The only issues we have experienced is ensuring everyone understands the difference between vendor and brand. Our systems didn't quite match so we needed an easier way to resolve it. Pros Reduced Stockouts & Overstocking: Inventory Planner helps us calculate optimal inventory levels based on historical sales data, lead times, campaigns etc. It also helped us gain a much better insight in our overstock. Process Efficiency: Inventory Planner eliminated our need for manual calculations and spreadsheets freeing up our team to focus on strategic tasks. It also provides us valuable insights through forecasting, reporting, and analytics. We also participated in Sage Inventory Planner basic training, which helped us a lot to use Inventory Planner in a correct and efficient way. The Support Team is great! Very helpful and overall nice to communicate with. Cons Pricing can be a bit heavy for smaller companies / start-ups. If you are not using standard integrations it's a bit more tricky to establish an efficient integration, however CSV-connection works fine, just requires a little more effort. I don't update IP with all the data it requires, but I use it to suggest re-order levels and I view at every line and then decide. Pros It allows me to efficiently place orders with multiple columns populated in my spreadsheet at once. It makes good suggestion that I then edit. Cons Managing the data, but it is only as good as that data. Sometimes the suggested re-orders levels are wildly wrong because I haven't populated the data sufficiently, hence why I check every line. Cons The integration process is confusing when everything is framed from a "Warehouse" perspective. Connecting a Shopify and Amazon store creates another warehouse, even though we handle fulfillment at several separate locations, thus needing to specify what information to pipe in for each. They took the time to figure out the issue I was experiencing as well as help me to interpret and diagnose the underlying causes for future cases. Cons Understanding error messages given by inventory planner is not the most intuitive. While I understood the basis of what was causing the error, I had no way of identifying the specifics of the error without first reaching out to customer service. Now with their help, I will be able to address these same issues on my own if they occur in the future. Once set up notfications will flag when items are due to be ordered or if selling faster than anticipated. Also able to dial down into stock that needs a push. Cons Does take some getting used to navigation but gets easier with more use. The filters and multiple location views are a little confusing to begin with but with more use become second nature. March 11, 2025 5.0 It's good overall, it does what I want it to do at the right time :) Pros It's easy to get a good overview, the data is easy to understand and work with. Things can be downloaded to excel and uploaded via excel, which is great! There is a handbook so it's easy to find problems, but even better, the support are on point when contacting them! Cons I think the payment terms a set up weird - it's based on yearly revenue, and I don't see that makes sense to charge that way. Even if I only had 10 SKU's that sold for 2.000.000 EUR it would be more expensive for me then to have 1000 SKU's with a yearly revenue on 500.000 EUR. Managing Director Sporting Goods Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "When it works it's OK... when it doesn't it is a nightmare" May 30, 2022 3.0 Disappointing sums it up. They promise a lot but the problems cause huge headaches and loss of money. As I write this we have >30 POs we need to place in order to receive stock before a 4-day holiday weekend... we cannot even add a single item to a purchase order! Purchasing is a business critical function and Inventory Planner simply cannot be relied upon. Pros When it works it makes purchasing straightforward. The forecasting aspect works fine. It's easy to import and export purchase orders. Cons There are frequent periods where Inventory Planner does not sync with Shopify. At these point the system is rendered useless as data is not up to date so purchasing cannot be done without taking a huge gamble. There are periods where there is zero functionality - usually when the sync is not working. Here nothing whatsoever will correctly load. It is as if they don't have enough AWS server capacity to deal with data and it backs up all the requests from their clients, freezing it for everyone. When there are extended periods of downtime there is a risk of data loss through syncs failing. Customer support is barely interested. Brief replies with no real care or concern of the business impact of the problems they are causing. For the high price paid we expect fast responses from people that resolve things. There are other annoyances e.g. it is not possible to merge multiple purchase orders from one supplier. Reason for choosing Inventory Planner There are few Shopify-focussed purchase order management systems that tie in with other systems we use e.g. Peoplevox. I have used them all in the past 20 years and this is hands down the fastest, most accurate, well though out and intuitive software. Literally saves hours of time every single day. Pros It’s speed. It calculates everything so fast and handles 30k Products and 3 locations with absolute ease. Cons I want all the fields / filter options available across all sections sometime I can’t quite tweak the reports to a very granular level. Pros VERY customizable, integration is easy, slick UI, receptive customer service and dev team, accurate forecasts, great suggestions, lots of supplementary information available in FAQs/webinars/youtube videos. Cons Sometimes settings take some digging to find, or in a few cases I had to ask customer service is something is possible - it almost always is, and it's always something I overlooked or didn't know existed until I asked. It looks like it would work well with my inventory of computers and tracking equipment. Cons I don't see anything yet, but I am still playing around with this.
