Pros
Quicken has great tools to help you monitor progress towards your financial goals.
I like Quicken for how it's fairly easy to set things up. I prefer manual sync since I prefer creating payees on my own, but it gives me a pretty good view of my expenses and the stocks I have.
Overall, good value for the money and will teach you how to manage your finances and help prepare your taxes for you.
I was so excited to use this software. It completely ties to our financial reporting in Quicken and therefore is very appealing to use.
Cons
Placeholder entries make it very difficult to correct input errors. If you input income for an investment account and use the reinvest action, the investment performance report can't be used.
It's normally a 40-minute queue to talk to an idiot and they are so propaganda driven, that they delete any negative posts or reviews from their sites and their forum.
There was a lot of trouble importing transactions which is why I stopped using it. It wouldn't import automatically and I had to download from the bank and Paypal and then upload.
The reporting function sometimes is a little clunky and hard to apply filters. Speed of the software is somewhat sluggish, the PC i have is relatively new with quad-core processing.

"Quicken is the Grand-Daddy of Personal Finance Tools, I can't Quit It."
Overall: I've used Quicken for such a long time, It would be difficult to switch to an alternative. I general it works for me, and I see no evidence which indicates I should check into alternatives.
Pros: It is highly evolved for tracking personal expenditures, and the performance of personal investments.
Cons: The smallest price point at which I can get it, is rather high. I wish it had more tailored pricing based upon the features you need.
"Quicken is great for small businesses "
Overall: I have been using quicken for years and its been easy and user friendly.
Pros: Easy to download transactions. Specialized report save fuction. Cloud sync to view on other devices.
Cons: Every once in a while it auto catorgories something worong.
"Quicken is just ok"
Overall: It was ok, but wasn’t easy enough to use
Pros: Has a lot of features for the average user
Cons: Hard to integrate into the flow of my business
"Quicken Review"
Overall: Overall I think leveraging quicken for my accounting purposes relieves a lot of the work between myself and my bookkeeper.
Pros: The features and functionality of Quicken meet many of my business. The reporting is simple and easy to apply and access. I think managing multiple businesses is good with this system. It has more of a scaleable feature.
Cons: there are times when making entries or correcting entries that I think the steps could be simplified. I also think creating custom reports could be easier in terms of formatting them report and customzing to logo and branding
"Quicken review"
Overall: It meets most of my needs, but it seems that some features don't function.
Pros: It compared to Mint in function. And I was able to import my data.
Cons: The user interface is less appealing than Mint.
"Worst Software Package I know - DON'T BUY IT!"
Overall: This is the worst software and, as far as I can tell, none of their staff are interested in helping, nor are they anything other than simpletons without knowledge of their product. STAY AWAY.
Pros: relatively inexpensive as compared to other options.
Cons: DOES NOT WORK. Even when I did all it asked and upgraded - it is not able to use multiple files I provide.
"Quicken knows more about my spending than I do!"
Overall: I have been using Quicken for Mac diligently since 1995. I use it pretty much daily. It can answer pretty much any question I have about my historical spending. I have used it to track my personal spending, the spending on my self-employed business and my employee expenses.
Pros: Quicken is my memory of pretty much everything I have spent money on since 1995. The reporting capabilities are excellent!
Cons: I wish it handled multiple currencies better (eg. Canadian and US dollars)
"Simplicity with Quicken"
Overall: Quicken has been easy to use and budget my personal and small business accounts.
Pros: Being able to edit and change my spreadsheet is unlimited. The ease and simplicity of Quicken is very inviting.
Cons: Not enough advanced features. The overall look of Quicken is outdated.
"Very robust and complete personal financial software"
Overall: Very positive. I have used Quicken for probably at least 20 years. Never had the desire or need to look for an alternative.
Pros: All of the investing tools plus the ability to manage all of your traditional checking and savings accounts.
Cons: Can't think of anything I would add.
"Quicken- name says it all!"
Pros: Quicken makes it easy and quick to compare billing options
Cons: Wish there was a free version or extended trial
"Our company has been using Quicken for over 15 years and we are very satisfied,"
Overall: I use it daily and it works well! No qualms at all.
Pros: The software is efficient, easy, and works very well.
Cons: I am overall very satisfied. There is nothing I can think of that needs improvement.
"Quicken is OK but not the end-all solution"
Overall: Quicken keeps me organized for personal use but there are always additional steps when it comes to business. I use it for two small businesses, both of which require sending the transactions and reports from Quicken to external accountants. This program is best for individual use, and managing your own transactions unrelated to owning any business.
Pros: I like the ability to organize and ease of us. I like the connectivity to other websites, accessibility from many platforms, and simply layout. Quicken is ideal for transaction management.
Cons: Quicken provides information but generating taxes, tracking capital equipment, really anything beyond the bare bones - is another investment in different software or an accountant.
"Issues with credit card statements"
Overall: I had high expectations because it seemed easy to use and price was convenient. Until I started having issues downloading credit card statements.
Pros: Pricing was convenient for a small business.
Cons: Not easy to download credit card statements.
"Ease of use for a small business"
Pros: Quicken has a very user friendly platform that makes managing our accounting simple.
Cons: I can't think of anything that we do not like.
"Quicken - the best program for tracking expenses"
Overall: Quicken is quirky, often frustrating, but there is nothing else I know of that can track finances comprehensively.
Pros: It allows tracking of bank accounts, credit cards, and investments. No other program that I know of can do everything Quicken can.
Cons: Quicken can be frustrating. It doesn't allow pasting into Register fields and it does not conform to many Windows conventions.
"User since the 1990's"
Overall: Since late 2022 it has been horrible.
Pros: I have always liked how easy it was to learn and use Quicken. Getting started is easy.
Cons: In the last year Quicken changed their product so it only works on one computer. I have used Quicken for over a decade with OneDrive as the main storage for the database and more recently my own personal server. This made using Quicken essential for travel between my office, my home and on my laptop during travel outside the country or on family vacation.Quicken no longer allows this type of functionality and only allows you to store the main database on a local 'C' drive. Yes, you can copy and paste the database onto another computer (if you remember to do so before leaving), but then you need to re-sign into all your financial institutions. Unfortunately, the product is no longer business friendly and has rolled back to twentieth century technology when people only had one computer to use.Why programmers made this horrible decision is beyond me since almost everything has moved to cloud based programming or allows you to store and use a database from an online storage platform.
"Good software but poor customer support for Canadians"
Overall: Poor. On-going yearly subscription keeps going up significantly. Have to look for another software to replace it.
Pros: Ease of use. Easy to download data from bank sites.
Cons: Very poor customer support. Had to use US number to call and had to pay a big bill. Very poorly supported for Canadians.
"This is a great software for basic accounting "
Overall: We use this for accounting for our small private school. It works well but in this situation since we don't make invoices and need the features that Quickbooks offers.
Pros: It is a very basic easy to use software.
Cons: It works great for basic use but lacks many features of Quickbooks if you need them
"Very useful"
Overall: Overall it did what was needed. Could use updates.
Pros: We have used this for years. Always a trusted program.
Cons: Not as user friendly as other products I’ve used in the past.
"Finance management "
Pros: It helps a lot with my budgeting in my monthly expenses
Cons: Other budget assistance and financial management are not effective
"Business & Rental Mgmt"
Pros: It keeps up with my rental expenses as well as my business
Cons: It takes a while to figure out but customer service is helpful
"Business malpractice"
Overall: poor
Pros: Able to keep tax records weekly for my small business.
Cons: Quicken arbitrarily changed the rules after purchasing this software. I have used this software for 8 years and purchased the program in 2016. After purchasing a new computer this week, and being unable to transfer my program to it, I was told I had to now pay for a yearly subscription of $60/year. Initially, I was given the option of purchase vs subscription and chose purchase. I now am told I have to pay for subscription yearly. If I had known this at the intial purchase time, I would have chosen another software or set up my own on excell. This is poor business practice by this company and I would never recommend them to anyone. I was never notified of any changes with my initial purchase. This would be considered malpractice by most other businesses. They should honor past agreements.
"Dissatisfied user"
Overall: I wish they would get this update fixed with all the banks and investment companies
Pros: The software is great when it works but it is so rare that when I do an update, that things update easily! It is awful!
Cons: One Stop Update just doesn't work. Every single time I update I run into problems with multiple accounts and it takes FOREVER to get stuff uploaded.
"Quicken is Easier than Quickbooks"
Overall: I am able to track my business income and expenses with ease.
Pros: The program is user friendly and can be used for home, business, or rental accounting. The program is frequently updated and current.
Cons: It is not a double entry program and items can be too easily erased and cause problems recovering when needed.
"A great tool for any small business or nonprofit"
Overall: Quicken is great in my experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a program that is easy to learn, user-friendly, and not cumbersome.
Pros: Quicken provides all the tools that many small businesses and most small nonprofits would need to track their expenses and to provide reporting to different departments. It's very user-friendly and easy to learn, but can get quite messed up if the data going in is not entered appropriately. Trust me on that one!The reports are simple to run, and provide all of the information that I have needed in a small nonprofit.
Cons: I really don't have complaints about Quicken for the youth and the reports that I need it for. I'm sure that a larger company would not find it appropriate but for a smaller one it is perfect because the price is right, it's easy to use, and it's easy for reporting.
