This product has made it easier than ever to keep everything in order. This product is recommended for smaller firms, under a 100 properties/accounts to be exact. Cons Due to the limitations of under 100 properties/accounts, Quicken has it's shortfall. February 5, 2019 4.0 Pros Taking control of all my bank accounts, credit cards, bills and spending is easy with this program. With automatic download of transactions, scheduling of bills and being able to see them in a monthly calendar format makes it easy for me to see where I stand with my money. Balancing the checkbook and creating budgets is super easy as well. You can check your net worth growth annually. Check and to help keep track of your investments. Prices of stocks and values update automatically. Annually you can update the value of other investments. Pros Easy to set up. Simple to check your net worth, investments, loan balances, check accounts, etc. I have used Quicken for personal tracking of investments for 40 years. I have recommended Quicken deluxe to my son and nephews for tracking their investments & annual net worth growth. Some investments update automatically (stocks). Cons Sometimes too time consuming if used for personal checking accounts if several checks are written. I enter my checks in bulk at month end to make it easier and less time is required. Otherwise, great for regular money matters. Pros That it allows me to track all my transactions in several of my investment accounts. the links to all the major brokerage firms is very convenient. Cons That many brokerage firms that are not listed for automatic transactions makes it tedious to manually enter them. Often times this make for data entry errors. Cons Sometimes webconnect can be fickle. The reporting function sometimes is a little clunky and hard to apply filters. Pros I use this product for the ability to prepare my taxes. The price is worth not having to take them to an accountant to prepare. Everything populates where it needs to go in Turbo Tax and walks you right through everything without a worry. I dont use all of the features it has - but may in the future Cons Ive had to purchase this software twice after my computer failed. It was not compatible with my new laptop. It has been a life-saver for many years and makes it easy for tax purposes and bookkeeping. Cons Perhaps the only con I have is the need to update yearly and the cost of the update. Seems updates should be free and perhaps major changes might be a increase in cost. Updating annually is required to stay up to date. It has many features that pre not intuitive and has unclear error messaging. Cons It does not download every transaction. a few get missed. I had a problem with a certain repeating transaction not downloading every time. It does not work or not work well with 2 stage verification to automatically down load. Pros If your a home owner and need an accounting software to keep track of property this is a keeper. It's user friendly and enables you to track your expenses and rent due. It has it's limitations but great if you don't want to get complicated doing your books. Cons The software has it's limitations, doesn't have detail sheets and charts like Quickbooks. The ease of the reporting and categorizing the expenses is very easy to do. The resultant reports for tax purposes is great. Cons Until a month ago everything was good. Now I cannot get my bank account to sync with Quicken. I have performed all the troubleshooting recommendations with no success. Each time i deactivate an account I have to wait two days before I can see if this function worked. Two weeks and no success. Also, Quicken tells me that the error is not my banks issue but Quickens. Pros I found Quicken to be a cheaper option to Quickbooks and provided the same features as Quickbooks. Cons Quicken doesn't seem to be as compatible and user friendly as Quickbooks. I would correct changes and they would not carry over month to month. Technical support was often from overseas. One time I literally hear roosters crowing in the background. When I had issues technical support could not resolve them. Pros The ease to hook up to banking software was nice Cons Constant errors. Software did not read bank information correctly.
