Owner Health, Wellness and Fitness Used the software for: 2+ years ### "All the columns add up in Quicken for your needs!" May 26, 2026 5.0 We really enjoyed working with Quicken. But there were times when it felt very overwhelming for the size of our business. But you can''t be too organized when working with your own finances and Quicken comes through for us every time! Pros What I enjoy most about Quicken is its depth of services and resources. It's a wonderful program for small businesses to use, and there is little training needed to manage your invoices, view reports, especially for tax purposes and payment processing. It's a very comprehensive program for the value that you pay and is a great investment whether you work with an independent accountant, or reply on customer support to help guide you overt the bumps. Cons While it is a great program, one does have to balance its price with your day-to-day operations. That can feel prohibited for a small business just starting. That is probably the most obvious reasons for hesitation to use this program. I use it for day to day as well as monthly bill pay and budgeting. I use it on the business and professional level. Pros That evening is organized,there are many options,categories and graphics showing your budget,balances etc. Cons Glitches. Sometimes, when there's an update, it does not automatically pull the data. I have found that happens and i dint enen know it. Updates from the bank or credit cards dont happen. This can be days weeks or months that you miss pending.On how much time has lapsed since you realized it.And then you have to put things in manually. Owner, Bookkeeper Accounting Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Super Useful for Family Finances & Budgets" September 30, 2025 5.0 I use Quicken to aggregate all my personal financial accounts so I can quickly work my family budget. I no longer have to log into several different sites to see current balances or recent transactions. I also like that you can manually add assets that are paid in full already to give true net worth estimates. Pros I love that I can access Quicken Simplifi via the app on my phone or via the website. I also really appreciate that my bank, credit card, and liability accounts can all be linked so the data is aggregated into Quicken for me. Cons The only con I have is that some accounts that require authentication or regular password changes get disconnected from the app because of this. Not really a fault of the software but still an inconvenience. Switched from [Mint](https://www.capterra.com/p/213530/Mint/) Mint.com was shut down in 2024 leaving users forced to find an alternative. Review Source Nathan H. It was inexpensive for the features. Pros I used quicken to track my expenses and income to do my own taxes. It eliminated mistakes and saved me money. May 1, 2026 4.0 We have found the QUICKEN offers us comprehensive options overall categorizing items making it easier in tax time, Belin, our checkbook and paying bills. QUICKEN has done all of the things that it says it will do and then some. Pros I like the integration of our bank accounts and ability to pay bills and look at payroll and other activities at very few key strokes. If looking for comprehensive finance management then this software is work you will need. Pros The ability of the software to connect and track individual stock prices with out having all your personal information in the cloud. Cons The software has went from buying the software once to having pay for an annual subscription. September 4, 2025 4.0 Have used it for many, many years. Would love to see them develop the program further with Android full suit access. Pros Reliability Ease of transaction entry Charts and graphs, downloads of transaction, property and debt calculations. Cons Web access is not the best. Software seems to work best when on main computer, not remotely. Web App is very basic. Pros I found using Quicken to be very user friendly, making it easier to do my everyday tasks. Invoicing seem to be very smooth with being able to process. Specialty import situations, jacked up investments downloads (gave that up long ago). No undo (really?). So Why can't I just use a CSV? Do they think that is a way to increase profits? Maybe for existing users, but for anyone who will listen DO NOT GET YOUR FINANCIAL RECORDS STARTED ON QUICKEN! ANY other software but quicken. Pros Has qfx connector exports in most financial ends of websites. Lots of features auto sorting, renaming Cons Without a qfx connector, you might as well find another finacial service supplier, or enter everything by hand. No UNDO (really?). No standard data import available such as .csv, .txt, or any non-proprietary format. Switched from [Microsoft Excel](https://www.capterra.com/p/176574/Excel/) I needed more functionality. You can download most of your transaction from both banks and cards. With little work you can categorize each transaction (create custom categories) on your own time. At any time, you can create a "Custom Report" to see if all the tenants have paid their rent or see what you have spent in the last year on any unit. Great tool!!!! Pros Makes tax time easy! Makes managing my rental property a breeze. You Can easily create custom reports to analyze your fanatical situation. Cons It takes a bit of time to customize the categories to be able to create simple reports to find the information that you need, but when you are done the time was well worth the effort! While it can be frustrating at times, I have found no other program on the market that allows me to track my receipts, expenses, and bills, as well as does Quicken Pros It makes it easy to keep track of expenses and bank accounts Cons It can be buggy at times, e.g., downloading transactions into the wrong account. Like most software today, Quicken is becoming bloated with extra features and they cannot fix errors with the basics as quickly as they used to. It has made my life so much easier and makes it really easy to do my quarterly taxes and income tax. Pros Quicken allows me to track my income, expenses and net worth of my small business. This is great as tax time is no longer a dreaded event. Cons Only con is that it is not mobile friendly. I can find purchases from decades ago, and it shows my full financial picture. Pros I like the ease of use, and being able to have all my financial information in one place. Reports and easy answer reports are also fantastic, and make tax time easier. Cons My accountant says she no longer uses it so I can't send her electronic Quicken reports anymore. My complaints about quicken could be someone elses positive, that is has alot of features and customizations. Pros It has customizable reports. Most important to me currently is Investment tracking, so i can monitor stocks and retirement accounts with real time updates. Cons The interface is not beginner friendly. November 6, 2024 5.0 I have been using Quicken for Mac diligently since 1995. I use it pretty much daily. It can answer pretty much any question I have about my historical spending. I have used it to track my personal spending, the spending on my self-employed business and my employee expenses. Pros Quicken is my memory of pretty much everything I have spent money on since 1995. The reporting capabilities are excellent! Cons I wish it handled multiple currencies better (eg. Canadian and US dollars) Review Source KO Keith O. I have been using Quicken since its inception 40+ years ago and find it useful on a daily basis as well as monthly and tax related reports. Pros Quicken is a versatile personal finance application that covers something as simple as checking and savings account record keeping to more complex accounts such as credit card, investment and mortgage accounts. It can generate reports and graphs to provide a complete picture of one's personal finances. Cons To the best of my knowledge Quicken is only available on a subscription basis.
