Pros: It is easy to use and configure for the moment of making the client configuration for the corporate network.

Cons: In some situations it is slow to connect. There is no version available for Chrome OS. When I have used it on my iphone, it is slow and it disconnects insperately.

I have used forticlient at work very often and I think it is a super user-friendly program.

Pros: Super user-friendly, from the very first time that I opened it up, I could log in to my programs and use them. The user interface is easy to understand and know what to do next.

Cons: The thing that I liked least about forticlient is that the very few times that something went wrong I had no idea what was going on, it just didn't work. It would be better if some type of error description would come up and say what is going on.

Overall: I love how quick and easy it can be to log onto the VPN to use the software that I use for work.

Ended up moving to another product

Pros: We tried using this at our company and it was a disaster as we had to end up using Azure. Fortinet doesn't really do a good job in this space, although we do use their routers and firewalls.

Cons: the software was glitch
it was not easy to use
had only a few features
the customer support was atrocious
it was expensive and we ended up scrapping it

I am a forticlient user at a medium sized company.

Pros: It is very quick and easy to login to a local network using a VPN. It always works, never have any issues logging in.

Cons: I wish that the software had a remember my password feature for when I don't need to worry as much about security. This is probably left out on purpose and I understand that.

Overall: I can now have my computer access files and behave as though it were on a remote network.

Pros: Even if you don't use an EMS server, and just install FortiClient, it's a solid AV with built-in web filter that defaults to at least blocking the worst stuff. It's great for schools in that way, because it means you can install it and have some piece of mind without any more configuration. If you want to get EMS, it gives you even more control; you can basically treat it just like the UTM features on a FortiGate firewall. In fact, you can run it through your FortiGate and just have everyone using the same policy all the time, with no need for extra configuration

We also use it for a handful of VPNs, and it does a great job with our several FortiGates

Cons: The current version (5.6) defaults to installing only the VPN client, so you need to "Customize" the install. This should be right in the workflow, instead of requiring "Advanced" options just to enable AV and UTM. Actually, AV should be enabled by default, and VPN should be optional. Oh yeah, and you *must* install the VPN client, even if you don't intend to use it

Overall: A solid, fairly easy to use AV/UTM client

We use this to monitor our building.

Pros: The software enables us to monitor the activities in our facility remotely live and enables use to record activities to review at a later date if necessary. It provides an extra layer of security. It is able to be used on mobile devices as well.

Cons: The software is not as straight forward as desired and requires some research to understand how it works.

Overall: It adds an extra layer of security to our facility.

Pros: Its easy to install the software. The experience has been good on my laptop and mobile device. The speed is consistent with no crashes, lags or disconnections when it works.

Cons: I sometimes have issues connecting over a fast connection. This usually is resolved by removing and installing the software again but this shouldnt happen in the first place.

Overall: I am able to connect to my office network remotely

Comments: I bought a 100 user FortiClient EMS license and it was an unmitigated disaster. Tech Support knows nothing about the product and customer care neglected to include a download link with the license and seemed completely disinterested in lifting a finger to resolve the issue. Fortinet used to be a good company. Not anymore.

Pros: Amazing VPN product if using Fortinet devices.

Overall: At this point in time, their SSL VPN is top notch and very stable. Great integration with AD too. We do not use the other parts of Forticlient (although we used to be on the iPsec VPN which worked well too). For the "protection" part, we prefer to use separate antivirus products. So not sure I would recommend for anyone NOT using a fortinet device (Fortigate) but then again, everybody should use them! They are great devices!
