### "Excellent Remote Access Solution"

October 6, 2020

5.0

I use Forticlient to connect to the office remotely and to protect my computer from viruses and threats. I access servers and databases daily without difficulty and I am satisfied with the experience obtained at the time.

Pros

It is an easy-to-configure tool that allows effective and efficient connectivity to our local networks from anywhere outside our offices.

Cons

At the moment I have no complaints about the tool, I use it daily without difficulty or risk and safely.

### "adoption of FortiNet Endpoint Protection Suite"

January 9, 2025

5.0

We already use FortiNet Firewall and FortiClient for classic VPN access, so moving to the entire Endpoint Protection suite was a natural step to improve security.

Pros

Integration with FortiNet products, unique management console, easy to deploy.

Cons

Not all the features at the top, expecially XDR; price model not flexible

### "FortiClient review"

December 30, 2025

2.0

Pretty poor. I use VPN a whole lot and need a stable connection. My internet connection is pretty secure. Each time the VPN is out, I check the internet and most of the time it is working, but the VPN disconnects. Not sure what is the problem.

Pros

Not sure I have much that I like about it. I am having to log in many times a day. If you use the VPN for only a few minutes, there is no problem. But not when you use it for hours each day.

Cons

The connection goes out too many times a day; very unstable. Then you have to reconnect. And many times it will time you out, just because you have to get your phone and get to the App.

### "Good as a VPN client"

June 4, 2025

4.0

Pros

Great as a VPN client, easy to configure, easy for end users to interact with, pre-login VPN works well and can be a life-saver

Cons

Not great as an AV/EDR client, UI changes confuse end users, management options via EMS or FGT are both clunky and shifted over time, needs better product vision

### "Worst user experience VPN ever?"

January 14, 2025

1.0

Full description is in CONS section, no need for more.

Pros

\- connection is established - visually OK

Cons

\- when I open it, the starting page is NOT on REMOTE ACCESS (which is where you connect) BUT on some useless ZERO TRUST TELEMETRY (everything is about zero trust here...) - I wanted HW token to don't need to type-in number everytime BUT I got token that cannot connect to PC and just click to insert the number, I must still enter it manually (so it is pointless against app in mobile, but...) - it does not support standard Authenticator apps, so I would have to install another authenticator app on my phone (I want to keep company apps at minimum on my phone) - the token itself is on baterry and it is not readable in dark - when you enter password, it disappears after ~30s without any warning, so you take your time to find the HW token and then thinking "did I type the password or not?! what the hell" - when connecting takes some time, it looks like it have failed, clearing password input and highlighting it red, confusing, then it connects - if you type wrong password, it does not tell you, it throws some weird error which will make you investigate your internet connection instead (wasted hour on this) - on any sudden momentarily network drop, it immediately disconnects, but it do not show up to reconnect nor it tries to reconnect on its own to spare you some nerves, if you miss short lived message popup you will have to manually open it and check connection status (first page ZERO TRUST TELEMETRY, youre welcome) - it is breaking my docker images that requires connection, it is blocking some important ports, so when you have to be connected to download new data from you company and then you need to disconnect to run the app, it is really annoying - I haven't met yet more annoying user experience in a tool that we are supposed to use EVERY DAY, so in the end, I am connection once or twice a week just to read emails (it is also slower than our other VPN) and that is because of this bad experience which is driving me mad while I need to be focused and productive instead!

### "Poor performance and reliability issues"

July 1, 2025

1.0

Very bad - constant technical issues, poor performance impact, and unreliable connections make this software more trouble than it's worth for our business needs.

Pros

Accessible pricing point, but you get what you pay for in terms of reliability and user experience...

Cons

Frequent connection drops and unreliable VPN stability Heavy system resource usage that impacts computer performance Complicated setup and configuration process Limited customer support responsiveness Intrusive notifications and pop-ups Conflicts with other security software Slow connection speeds compared to competitors Outdated and confusing user interface Difficult to uninstall completely Limited customization options

### "Work safely no matter where you are."

June 12, 2025

5.0

It's been a mixed experience. I am a big fan of how it keeps my connection secure when I'm working at the airport or a coffee shop, but sometimes it takes a while to establish that secure link.

Pros

It keeps my connection secure and enables me keep my data safe when working remotely or when I'm traveling.

Cons

It's hit or miss if it will sign me in. Sometimes I am able to log in quickly, other times the software needs to think for a while before securing my internet connection.

### "FortiClient: Balancing Security Needs with User Experience"

December 23, 2024

5.0

I have positive overall experience for FortiClient cause of its ease of use with user-friendly interface, robust suite of security features including antivirus and anti-malware protection, reliable VPN capabilities and seamless integration with FortiGate.

Pros

I like most about FortiClient are its reliable VPN capabilities that enable secure remote access to corporate networks, seamless integration with FortiGate firewalls by providing a comprehensive security solution and its ease of use with intuitive UI.

Cons

VPN connection issues with unstable connection and not included auto-reconnect the VPN feature.

### "Very reliable and stable VPN client"

May 4, 2025

5.0

Overall the experience has been great. For frequent access/connectivity it is very seamless and convenient.

Pros

I like most about FortiClient is its 'memory' for credentials and its overall stability.

Cons

Occasionally the connection kills the local network access. Not sure why it does that, but in general, is not a show stopper.

### "Security where you need it"

December 27, 2022

5.0

Excellent, In my time using this it has not failed us once and the ability to detect when the primary is offline the secondary takes over the role almost instantaneous. We do not get flooded with calls telling us the internet is down. Customers do not even realize how safe and secure they are.

Pros

The software is very user friendly and the GUI is well laid out. Obviously it isnt designed for end user or customer use, but as an administrator the layout and applications that are managed by the actual firewalls are easily accessible and well formatted. No DOS based coding required. The config files are quite well formatted and easily modified for importing in a timely manner.

Cons

None, easy to set up and use and on a daily basis. it isn't a task i do not look forward to doing and i use this daily as part of my admin tasks.

Reason for choosing FortiClient

Price and ratings posted by peers. We reviewed extensively before putting Fortinet in place.

### "Remote work done easy"

November 3, 2023

4.0

Forticlient connects our client's 300+ remote employees to servers every morning. Creating profiles is a fast process, and getting new employees to connect fast is an easy process.

Pros

Reliability is the most important point when using a VPN, with all the included aspects it covers. Forticlient is a user-friendly and easy to get your hands on authentication software that allows our clients to connect to their worksite remotely. It's quick to deploy and get started with, and is now part of our daily routine.

Cons

There was very little Forticlient couldn't do and since the latest updates, it's now even better. The only quirks we ever had were more related to end-user hardware.

Reason for choosing FortiClient

Because Forticlient is the sole official client for Fortinet and is the most secure way to connect.

### "Forticlient Powerful VPN for business"

April 26, 2022

4.0

well as we are a nonprofit we have some sensitive data and need to protect by using Fortinet, and most of the systems we are hosting in-house so Fortinet is the perimeter firewall to protect it, during staff working from home as covid until now they use VPN to connect to the Fortinet firewall first to be able to access to the internal system.

Pros

it's lite software but powerful that enables users to connect to VPN and access the internal system pretty well. Users can connect to VPN faster as we can connect with the Active directory of their computer. the best thing that I like it separates the traffic between local traffic and VPN traffic, it is not set as the default traffic with VPN. this make user still has the best latency of accessing another website

Cons

well, it's pretty good already, i have been using it for 3 years already.

### "FortiClient VPN - essential tool to working from home"

October 10, 2022

4.0

It is my daily driver when I am working from home, as I need access to resources blocked outside from the office network. With FortiClient I can work from home as if I am working securely from the office.

Pros

FortiClient is very straight forward application - easy installation, setup. In about 5 - 10 minutes you can start using it. Once you are logged in to the remote VPN, you do not feel the application is running, as it does not interfere with your work. Connection stays stable for hours of work. Also, it has built in F2A mechanism for more robust security setup.

Cons

One important feature is available only in Pro mode - auto login when connection for some reason dropped. Also, there could be some improvement in the 2FA authentication process (especially when typing wrong token causes you to start the login from scratch).

### "Great endpoint management"

May 26, 2022

5.0

It's a great software, but if it was possible to push third-party updates automatically, the solution would be almost perfect.

Pros

It gives you great visibility and management on the endpoints. It's easy to set up different profiles. You can create ZTNA rules to integrate with a FortiGate.

Cons

You can use the software to identify vulnerable software, but cannot easily patch all third party software. This is one feature that is missing.

### "An additional level of protection for our corporate communications."

February 28, 2021

5.0

Talking about FortiClient is knowing that you have one of the leading solutions in the market, giving us peace of mind in the transmission of our information and helping greatly in obtaining management certifications such as ISO 27001. The cost is affordable if you compare it with the tranquility or the possible damage of a problem that compromises your data or those of the clients.

Pros

At the firm we handle a high amount of sensitive and confidential financial information in our operation, in the past we have received attempted computer attacks that fortunately did not represent a damage to our reputation, but we were uneasy if it were to be repeated. Since we implemented the FortiNet solution, we have greater peace of mind that our information and communications are kept private and secure.

Cons

The implementation time and the level of the people responsible for the deployment and management must be sufficient to have a satisfactory experience, in our case we had problems in the complexity of integrating with our network and other software.

Pros

This is very easy to install & configure. You have only to download, Install, and put your corporate VPN details. very simple and really very secure with 2FA.

### "works as intended"

February 26, 2024

5.0

Pros

Can't beat free (for the standard client). Works as intended - provides us MFA and encryption for or VPN access. Support is generally good. Lots of forum and 3rd party help as well.

Cons

Lots of updates. Which is a blessing and a curse I guess. Means they are staying on top of things, but also means there are vulnerabilities found.

### "Great endpoint security"

December 12, 2019

5.0

We've been using forticlient as our endpoint security in our office, it's been working just great. It detects infected files and quarantines them , their antivirus database is very up to date and get updated to your workstation automatically. This is a great security application and it works even better if you link it to the fortinet fortigate firewall. Some of our users use the VPN functionality to access certain devices on the network securely when they're outside of the office.

Pros

It's free. You get the free features like antivirus, website filter, spam blocker etc. You can unlock its full features if you link it to your fortinet fortigate firewall. You also have the option to establish a VPN from the endpoint to your network through the fortigate firewall.

Cons

No automatic application updates, you need to download and install a the application when a new version is released. The AV database does get updated automatically so no issues there.

### " Ideal tool for ensuring a secure and stable VPN connection"

September 1, 2022

5.0

The overall experience was  amazing. I've been using this product for a while now to access the business remotely from far-off areas, which has made it possible for me to continue working while also helping customers who are having issues with the services we provide.

Pros

This tool's simple configuration and, more importantly, the fact that it provides a secure means of gaining access to my work environment from distant locations are what I value most about it.

Cons

I'd argue that in order to maintain the connection, it needs to be really stable; otherwise, it disconnects.

### "We use FortiClient remote access to connect to client VPN and I wish all my clients used it"

July 16, 2019

5.0

We need to connect to client VPN on a daily basis. After a quick setup we easily connect daily and have not experienced any issues with this VPN since we started using it.

Pros

It was very easy to setup and start connecting to our client's databases through this VPN. They sent over the connection criteria and we were connected within minutes. Easy to setup, easy to use.

Cons

Nothing I don't like at the moment, no complaints.
