I love that Pendo tells me exactly what my clients are under utilizing in our software so I can consult with them to drive more upgrades, cross selling etc.

Cons

I don't like how it's hard to easily update segments from salesforce

Mainly customer behaviour and how our users actually use the product

Pros

It records all the data from the point of installation so that you can review changes in behaviour when implementing new features or if you think u\[p new questions the data is all there .: Brilliant Great support and documentation.

Cons

Like all truly powerful there is a learning curve. That said you can get useful insights from day one and then build up your knowledge as the question are more involved.

It has been good. I don't use it often, but I'm impressed by the power of it. It feels like it has a pretty robust API, but I haven't interfaced with it yet. I would like to see a more intuitive UI around building guides and templates.

Pros

I like that it is easy to use, if you can find what you need. Again, it may just require some training on my part. It looks really good. For an analytics and feedback tool, it looks great. I also like that we can create content for capturing feedback in our app without having to build additional tooling and components. It saves us a lot of work.

Cons

It isn't intuitive out of the box. Again, with a little training it isn't hard to navigate, but it's a bit intimidating to come in and get stuff done. For example, when trying to create a guide template I have to go to global settings to set up the template. It doesn't feel like that is where it should go.

I've used Pendo a couple times over the period of roughly a year. Both of the time that we tried to deploy an NPS survey on our product we had some significant bugs. The first, we had a Opt Out list that some of our admins requested to be on (they didn't want to receive the survey). Pendo experienced a bug in which our survey in fact was seen by some of those accounts. This most recent time I've run across some significant bugs and pretty fundamental considerations in UI. Take for instance that Pendo provides no help in the UI to help guide you in whether you are actually selecting the right account to pool into a segment to target or exclude. You have to pretty much get the account character for character exact to how Pendo has in the system. When I try to export the list of accounts from Pendo, modify the list to remove or add accounts and reimport, Pendo fails on any accounts that have a comma in the title (like Company, LLC or Org, Inc.). Also our survey just decided to not appear out of the blue. Luckily I've jumped in to check our survey frequently and discovered this was the case. I can't be confident that when I deploy something to our end users that Pendo will behave appropriately. Consider another solution with better history and size.

The UI is modern and appealing

Cons

The software is inconsistent, buggy and unpredictable.

Pros

Definitely the guides - detaching guides (tooltips, lightboxes, banners, etc...) from the actual code base takes a lot of the informational burden off of engineering and allow for non technical people to promote in app features and communicating with customers.

Cons

The funnels and path ares not clear yet. Also, dashboard customization needs a bit more love.

Generally really positive

Pros

Generally I really like the insights Pendo can show you in terms of the usage of your clients and trends. It is easy to create reports and export these.

Cons

It would be great to be able to compare two aspects and create percentage usage in relation to several features - ie for us how many people view compared to search. I also sometimes find it confusing to understand how to use so having clearer guides on what we can use it for would be great.

Pros

extremely easy to setup and get meaningful information immediately. I like that you don't need development to tag features the way you need it we use it everyday to keep track of how our users are using our platform the "guides" features is also very useful to offer in-app messaging and help

Cons

Maybe some kind of AI or comparison with other Saas platform would be great to give some further insights. Tthe heatmap could also be a bit more user friendly.

Very good! The team has been great and it's been extremely useful with great, granular data.

Pros

Pendo allows us to monitor how well our software is being adopted so that we can create a faster path to success for our customers. I can also allow us to place pop-up message in our app directed to our customers.

Cons

It hasn't been super simple to port their data out to other platforms. At least not at a granular level.

Being able to see very specific usage stats on clients such as number of clicks vs downloads Guides - show people what to do Guides - building these in real-time (if something goes down on the platform can push out a message to all users)

Cons

Functionalities and navigation around the platform. I was confident about using it before but feel like things are easy to forget when haven't used it for a while.

The analytic tools are great when they work. However, I often feel that I can't trust the data as it stands. It seems that the data does not always accurately reflect what we are targeting for. I admit, much of this could be user error, though in comparison to other services, pendo isn't as user friendly. I just don't feel confident that any action I take on pendo will work as intended.

Pros

I think the customer service is friendly and the conversations with the staff have been pleasant.

Cons

Currently, I don't find it reliable. Guides often glitch up, certain things that are possible with other services aren't with pendo and I also find the analytic capabilities to be unreliable.

Pendo has helped us look at what kind of devices and browsers are users are using to access our application. I'm not sure we're getting the full benefit of it, but we're working on it.

Pros

Really like the analytics around device usage and the graphical reports.

Cons

Not all that intuitive to navigate without a bit a of training. We also have found it somewhat solo.

I like the heatmap and the ability to collect surveys through Pendo.

Cons

It is very difficult to learn how to properly use Pendo. I have gone in and tagged a bunch of features for the heatmap only to realize, 2 hours later, that I had tagged it wrong. I think translating tech jargon (the things I'm tagging) into user friendly language would be awesome.

The lack of A/B testing facilities can I release a walkthrough to a percentage of our user base? The difficulties with selectors when designing walkthroughs The issues with the designer when putting together messages (randomly puts in new lines) A way to export data in to other systems to work with other data sources

If you want to understand how customers experience your software, this is a great tool for the job. For us, we've LOVED the insights we've gained by the individual customer and the ability to identify and focus on any current challenges.

Cons

For a robust tool, it comes at a robust price. It does quite a bit and we've definitely seen a return on the investment, but it isn't free.

Pros

Pendo's ability to track all events regardless of our employees tagging them makes it extremely powerful if you don't have a dedicated analytics teams thinking about all of the possibilities in a complex web application.

Cons

Analytic feature set is a bit behind some of the leaders but I see Pendo catching up soon.
