I simply got hocked on SEMrush. Pros Semrush is a good and simple platform to use. It is quite popular among midsize companies. I like the project management section. Cons The 5 project limitation slots. It would be great if you could grant the long-time users an extra 1 to 2 extra project management slots without needing to upgrade. Thanks Reason for choosing Semrush Ahrefs has a limited crawl budget. I always ran out and had to purchase more crawl. Moz is ok. But SEMRUSH.com is the best. I get 100,000 page crawls a month. SEM is an exponentially growing field and demand for tools like Semrush is increasing, so I get that the price will go up over time. I just wish they would take reward the "OG" users with their loyalty throughout the years :) Pros It has most of the features I require to effectively do my job. Cons They have added a ton of features which I would love to use but can't because they keep increasing tiers for their software, requiring users to upgrade or pay more to unlock. In my opinion it’s my most important and most used tool. Pros I have found that SEMrush is more accurate with the keywords my websites rank for than Google Search Console. Other than the keyword tool, some of my favorite features are the content writing assistant, backlink research, and using this software to find valuable historical data on my domains. Even if its cost is high for start-ups still they get benefit if their daily 10 searches for keyword and domain analyser. Pros I loved their AI based content processor that helps to analyse competitor keywords. Detailed analytics helps to understand and track performance of the campaigns. Also, free trial makes me use their premium features so that I can decide whether it will work for me or not. Cons While exporting analytics, sometimes it misses out keypoints or filters that I have added for customization. Cost is pretty high after trial, and it increases gradually as per requirements. Between Semrush and Google, I really don't ever have to waste time anywhere else. Pros There are so many features built into this platform that I, even after using it for 6+ years, haven't even used them all. Being able to have every aspect of keyword research and all the associated tangents in one place is invaluable. Everything that is of value is right here in one place. Cons I do really miss being able to see keywords side by side within one search tab. Having to open multiple tabs in my browser to do this is a bummer. As for the seeing keywords side by side, you don't need to open multiple tabs at the same time; you can just export all the needed keywords you're working with to a CSV/XLSX file. We are customers already for 4 years. We always have enough with one user. Now, we have been loggin in, by accident, from a few different locations. This is because of remote working due to corona and it was unclear in the team who was responsible for Semrush. Now is our account suspended, which I can understand. But the only 'solution' is that I have to buy a €540 extra user. But wo do not need that! I told them this was an accident and that one user is enough for us. Which it always has been for 4 years. But we can only get our account back with paying 540€. And a refund of the unused service is also not possible. This feels like bribery. \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] was 'helping' me, but only offering me this upsell that I do not need. It is a shame to be treated like this after being a loyal customer for 4 years. I will recommend other potential customers SeRanking. It is much cheaper, has almost the same features and they will not rip you off with unwanted upsells. Shame! Pros It has a lot of features, in dept analysis. Cons It is expensive and there are quiet a few other, much cheaper alternatives where the customer service doesn't rip you off! I couldn't do my job without this tool. Customer service is sometimes slow to respond, but I haven't had to use them very much. SEMRush also had great tutorials and webinars to help anyone regardless of what level they are in in the SEO industry. Pros I've used SEMRush in my current and previous role and it's a must-have for competitive analysis and rank tracking. I use this tool daily to monitor my top rankings and keywords. I use it to see where competitors have lost or gain keywords and use this information in my SEO strategy. You need to add something special to your site, and the tool does not spot the "wow" factor on any site. I've used it for several years in conjunction with other tools. Although it's probably not the most advanced in terms of AI for things like content analysis, it's on par with most other offerings (most AI tools are still pretty shotty anyway). Pros What I like most about SEMRush is the ability to perform several key aspects of SEO in one place, KWR, technical auditing, and offsite auditing while knowing that the tool is comparable in quality to AHREFS, MOZ and other industry leading tools. Cons I'd like to be able to copy all tables from the site directly into a spreadsheet. It works for some tables but not for all. This would save tons of time compared to downloading and converting CSV files. The limitations on users are annoying and costly too, but not different from what I've seen from other SAAS tools. The crawl tool also doesn't allow a quick export of say, pages and page headings which makes using a second tool like Screaming Frog necessary.
