Sure there are other options, that each have their specialty, but if you need one tool, to keep things simple yet still get tangible results, then SEMrush is the tool for you. It is feature rich and has a lot of new feature in beta/development that cover all aspects of SEO. Cons Pricing is a bit steep. I have always found it should be one of the best tools to research your competitors or researching a niche. if the price was Laura I'd probably be a paid user more often. Pros SemRush has a ton of tools to do keyword research, spy on your competitors, write better content, find and fix technical SEO issues oh, and more. All the tools are relatively easy to get started using so you can start working right away. competitor research data is laid out in a way that makes it easy to understand and enables you to find what you're looking for quickly. Cons The only downside is the cost of semRush. when I started using the tool it was $69 a month and now I believe it's around $130 a month for the most basic package. For the price, it offers really good value from a range of different things. It's super easy to use, has a good database of keywords and offers bespoke keyword tracking. Cons As an SEO tool, SEMRush has become bloated and fallen behind it's competition. It's backlink reporting functions are not as detailed as that which you might find in a tool like AHrefs and you'll often see things in search console that SEMRush hasn't picked up. I use Semrush on a daily basis and I use it for keyword analysis and to analyze my competitor's keywords. So far I have not found a better tool for this than Semrush. Semrush's monthly payment is significantly high, so I would only recommend it to those who are doing SEO work that is already bringing in revenue. Pros Semrush's keyword analysis tool is undoubtedly among the best on the market, not to say categorically that it is the best. The functionality they call Keyword Magic Tool is truly magical! It offers keywords that you could not even imagine. The possibilities of filtering by different criteria allows you to find terms with low competition and real possibilities of ranking. Cons Your backlink tool is limited. Also the design of the platform could be more user friendly. For a first-time user, Semrush can be difficult to get to grips with all the features. I can't recommend it highly enough for anyone serious about serps. Pros There are tools in this deep and wide suite that I didn't realize I needed until SEMrush showed me not only how important they were to placing in search but also how easy some of the steps were in implementing. There's so much here to play around with and it does far beyond keyword research. It's a learning experience as well as a set of tools. I also really appreciate that the free tier (one project) isn't all that limited. The Social Poster has the best Chrome extension for scheduling posts that I've ever used with its integrated calendar and device preview. You can schedule repeat postings right within the extension. The tools devoted to competitor research are invaluable! There are some decent free courses offered as well. Cons The app is slow-loading and not always responsive. Also, the UI really could use some work, some streamlining, fewer dead ends, more inline help. I'm not sure as a brand experience it's very well-thought-out. It is expensive especially for small businesses and startups. 2. The backlink and SERP data gets updated by SEMRush with a delay. When compared with Ahrefs, SEMRush takes a lot of time to index and show new backlinks and this lag is irritating. The keyword research tool allows us to get a glimpse into what our competitors are doing so refining strategy became a breeze. Everything was presented in a clean-looking dashboard, so I was able to get what I needed quickly. Any software that can help cut down on research time for PPC and SEO is a good one in my book. Cons While I understand that keyword research tools are not perfect, there was some information presented in the software that wasn't helpful in my research. Pros The dashboard of SEMrush is really user-friendly where you can see different options. In the Backlinks section, you can see the number and sources of the links you have created for your websites. If you want to start an ad campaign at Google Adwords then you can find and search for the keywords at SEMrush. You can add different projects according to your websites. Then you can check your On-Page SEO, Site Audit, Content Analyzer, and more professional things. If you want to compare your website ranking with your competitors then SEMrush is really awesome. Cons There are three plans which SEMrush offer, according to my experience there should be an option for the beginners. Or the trial period should be more than the normal days. All other features of SEMrush are really awesome and fabulous.
