When I had to reach out to customer service, they were very helpful and got back to me right away. Pros While this software has quite a few tools, I tend to use the same ones most often. One of my favorites is the dashboard that shows how our site stacks up against competitors that we have identified. The tool compares organic keywords, traffic, and keywords. I also love that I can dig deeper into what those keywords are that competitors are ranking for. Position tracking is also one of my favorites - allows me to set up keywords that are important to me and get notified when positions for these keywords change. Very useful! Cons There is so much here, that I don't always have the time to explore everything or figure it out. It can sometimes lead to getting "lost" in the software. Also, the data does not record any of our paid ads in the data, even though we run quite a few ads. Review Source EO Elizabeth O. Pros This platform has allowed us to know absolutely all the details of the SEO of our website, we have identified the keywords with which we position ourselves and those that have better performance for our industry, it is certainly a fundamental tool for us and our customers. Cons I think the only problem we have had with this platform has been to use 100% of the tools it has, because it is very complete and has so many features that it is difficult to understand everything. Everything from GA data, Search Console, keywords, social media is all tied together in one easy-to-monitor database. Pros SEMrush is one of the best tools you can have. Whether or not you take advantage of SEO, using SEMrush allows you to analyze backlinks, check keywords, monitor site health, view traffic, and more. It doesn't matter if you are monetized or are a small independent blog, everyone should make use of the tools that SEMrush provides. Cons There is nothing to dislike about SEMrush! The tool is mostly used by our content team for its keyword tools. Pros SEMRUSH is very complete with many features. In our company it is mostly used for keyword tracking, and I use it for it's detox link tool. AHREF does not have this and it does save me a ton of time when I do DISAVOWS. I just focus on the extremely toxic links instead of going through the entire list of links every month. Cons I stick more to AHREF since I am a backlink builder, and although both tools do the same, AHREF is more simple without so many additional menus and specifically for link building and nothing else. SEMRUSH just discourages me to use it with the number of menus it has, it feels I need to click more stuff to do the same as in AHREF. Since in our company we both use AHREF and SEMRUSH in our company, AHREF was easier, to begin with, and I just stuck with it after I became knowledgeable of all the features a backlink building tool has. This is probably the real truth as to why I prefer it over SEMRUSH. It was a shame not to find a complete training course for backlink builders. I had to resort to MOZ training program, and we do not even use that tool. I do like the Youtube webinars on backlinks, love them. Review Source RP Ramkumar P. We can't wait to see what they introduce this year! Pros There is no one best feature. A few of my favourites are the Projects tracking which includes a site health checker as well as the on-page seo checker and the SEO template which plugs in nicely to Google Docs. Another new feature we're loving is the keyword manager where you can import keywords and get their search volumes. Cons Occasionally, the software stalls and takes a long time to update, so we're forced to check all our positions and rankings manually which is really frustrating.. it happens once or twice a year, normally for about 2-3 weeks. We use the reporting tools, link management, project management, content writing tools, research tools, and we are testing the social media post management tools now. SEMrush allows us to really shorten our tool stack. Pros SEMrush is very much a part of the SEO and Digital Marketing landscape. They offer a suite of services reactive to what is needed right now to help clients earn rank and help agencies like mine save time and humanpower. What cannot go unsaid is the value. We test drove other solutions, and they just don't match up. Are there tools that are better at certain things? Yes. Is there a single platform that does this many things this well at a cost anywhere nearly close to this cost? Absolutely not. We reduced costs by 40% with little to no drop-off. Before we started using semrush, we were not able to rank, and we couldn't figure out what's wrong. Then we started using Semrush and we started getting idea of what needs improvement, now we're doing pretty well on SERP. Semrush insights have worked really well for us. It also has other features like keyword research, backlink monitor, which probably you'll find with other tools too. Cons They need to reduce their support response time.
