I used it's keyword tools to help build by content marketing strategy, and used the ranking tool to measure the effectiveness on my content with search engines. I use it to see what my competitors are doing, and to inform my ad campaigns. It's the single best investment I've made in martech for my company. Pros I love the rank tracking in this software. It acts as a good barometer of our content marketing efforts. I also like the competition research I'm able to do with this tool, how it measures the health of my site, and the backlink analysis it provides. Cons I wish the social share functionality was a bit more advanced. It is very comprehensive in it's competitor analysis, keywords suggestions, serp monitoring, and on page recommendations to improve Google rankings. Cons The free version is a little too limited to try out the software to ensure the purchase price is worth it. They haven’t figured out a pricing model that reflects the value and how customers are using it. The support is great, though I’ve only had to reach out once. The SEO templates are great and super helpful. Pros SEM rush basically is the one stop shop for the entire content process. We use it to pick a topic, write the outline, choose links, and examine the competition. I also love that you can make these great automated reports that I send weekly to my team. It can’t be the only tool, you need Ahrefs and Moz to get a full picture of the landscape, if I could only have one, it would be SEMRush Cons I hate how, even after paying a lot of money each month, they require you to pay more see other domains. You also can’t see certain market reports which is just annoying. It also annoying to have team accounts. It’s hours too be seat based. We have a ton of people who can’t do anything in the tool, but insist on having a seat. Pros Insightful information - the tool gives you easy access to all important paramerts for any business. The domain analytics feature gives you an overview about your buisness, your competitors, ranked keywords etc. You can easily navigate to competitorsdomain analytics from the anchor links and gather data on differences between your site SEO practises with the competitors and use this information to improve SEO for your own business. It also allows you to see the google ads, display and search and give you ideas about the posters and keywords that your competitors are using for there paid ad networds on google platform. Cons The tool is all about the information and data and does not provide me anything specific that I can use from here to fix my website SEO directly. The backlinks feature is great and allow you to contact sites to gain backlinks, however, there is no guarentee as it would again depend on their response. Review Source AA Amr A. Marketing Executive Internet Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Semrush is definitely the best SEO tool I used" October 12, 2020 5.0 Semrush gives me a bit of an edge when I want to evaluate a new client's ranking or positioning, it doesn't only let me know the technical info, but it also gives me instant solutions which supports my position, especially with new clients. Pros It was extremely helpful to get excellent results with my clients. One of Semrush's best features is the gap analysis. This feature helps you have a crystal clear analysis results, which will help you make decisions based on figuring out what is needed to rank higher on Search Engine Results. Cons The only thing that I would have wanted to change about Semrush is not a technical aspect in their SEO tool, it might be only the pricing of the Guru package, although I believe that their pricing for the Pro package is pretty good. The most important tool by far for my day-to-day job is the keyword ranking tool, since it's imperative that I can consistently demonstrate that we are outperforming competitors in search. The website SEO tool is useful as well but should be utilized with a grain of salt. We fixed quite a few small issues using suggestions from SEMRush, but it crawls pages that are set to noindex, so it often finds issues that aren't relevant to your actual ranking. Cons Price per month is steep, and a waste of money in my opinion if you aren't going to really milk as much usefulness out of the product as possible. Like most tools, traffic is reported incorrectly on competitors' websites since that data isn't publicly available. Crawler leaves a lot to be desired from an accuracy standpoint. Unfortunately, I have never had someone from sem rush reach out and ask if me or my team needed help. When I upgraded I was promised a 'class' for my team of some sort but never heard back. If I ever became frustrated, this could cause me to give up and go elsewhere. Pros SEMrush is a very effective tool for SEO. It has a simplistic approach and it allows users to see all the relevant data of any websites. It has a very detailed keyword analysis tool that can show many related keywords, traffic data and competitors. The backlink analysis tool is another great feature of this app. I can see all the websites that are linking to mine, their countries and IP addresses, their anchor texts and if the links are follow or nofollow. They also have this very helpful SEO content template that can help you write SEO-friendly articles. It is based on the top 10 ranking pages of your keyword. I love using that feature because it makes my job easier and I can write a lot of engaging articles that our audience will surely love. Cons The only minor drawback I can think of is their pricing. But I can guarantee that SEMrush is worth it.
