We don't need to be an expert to get started, We can do keyword research, SEO audits, backlink analysis, rank tracking, and site audit with just a few clicks. This is a must-have tool for any SEO campaign. Pros Semrush is the best tool I've used for keyword research and competitor analysis. I've tried a few different tools but found Semrush to be the best for my needs. It's fast and quick, easy to understand and use, and is valuable for anyone looking to grow their online presence. It's a very impressive tool to audit your site. Cons It requires a more skilled person to operate this tool which I don't like about this software. Also difficult to understand because there is a huge option to learn. It has a very complex design. Pros The rank tracking is simple and easy to use, giving you a good snapshot of performance. Depending on your plan you can cover lots of keywords and benchmark against your competition. Cons I don't feel like it has developed in line with some of the other product in market. I'd say that SEMRush used to be one of the best but feel there are others out there now that offer more. It has all the tools that you need to keep track of your important SEO metrics and analyze your recent efforts. The site audit tool is one of my favourites. It has helped me discover a ton of issues with my website that I didn't previously know about. Cons Integrating SEMRush is a bit troublesome if you're not the owner of your domain on Google Search Console (say, the CEO is). It can be a bit of a pain to have to contact that person in order to get them to add the SEMRush Gmail account to it. The user interface is also a bit clunky but not the worst by any means. I like the very granular tools like backlink disavow but also the front end reporting/graphs that help you wrap your head around your site. Cons Semrush offers so many tools that sometimes it feels overwhelming and I know I'm only utilizing a fraction of them. Maybe offer more training, better UX to promote usage? Covers a great lot of countries, more than other SEM tools I tried. "Competitor research" and "keyword research" sections are very well developed and the strongest part of the tool. Useful both for SEO beginners and more advanced. Constantly updated - new features are introduced very often and users can always take part to betas. Great value for the price. Cons Keyword sets for competitive research are updated often - which is good, but it makes harder to compare overall visibility over time. Backlink analysis is not as strong as other dedicated tools (some backlinks missing, etc). Review Source Andrew B. However, I feel it still needs some additional refinement before it can be used as our primary SEO application. Pros SEMRush is fairly intuitive to use and does not require some of the more advanced customization that other tools like Botify, AHREFs, etc require. It has a pretty broad range of features, from site auditing, keyword info (both paid and organic), keyword gap analysis and competitor intelligence, backlink research, and more. Cons Though the tool has a very wide range of features, this is also a negative in that none of the features are its 'bread-and-butter.' It does a lot of things, but I would not say that its implementation of any of these features is anything to write home about. Additionally, the lack of customization is a plus in that it doesnt take long to get up and running, but it also does not allow for the deeper analysis that other tools do that are more integrated with your site. Pros It is free to begin and it allows you to use basically all their features at a limited capacity. It provides tons of information on your SEO and how you can get better rankings for you. I thought it gave a lot of good insights. Cons I question how accurate the data is...I know what my paid advertising spend is and the estimate provided by SEMrush wasn't even close. I'm not sure how it acquires this info but I think it still has a way to go before it actually starts accurately predicting things like ad spend and other useful info. Review Source JW Jake W. I think it could be cleaner, could be more concise in some ways. But, it's the best of the bunch, and in my opinion, by a long way. Pros The clean interface, the scope of data you can obtain - but simply, it's ease of use in comparison to Moz and Ahrefs Cons The videos are poor. I watched the SEM rush tutorial, it lacked any kind of charisma and was really surface level. Then, I wanted to deep dive into Google ads, your course is terrible, I'm sure the man Is knowledgable but it was a video of him with small excerpts of the interface - it should be all a screen share with him in the corner - I understand the want for the videography and angles, the productivity youtube kind of effect, but it took away from the education to the point I had to quit. Actually teach, teach well - people will love it. Your whole education hub is well advertised and lacking for quality engaging content. Pros It's easy to navigate and has a plethora of industry information to optimize your website. Whether you are launching a new website/business or want to improve an existing one, SEMrush will give you insight to improve web performance, presence and drive valuable traffic. Cons Wish more SEO audits were included in our plan :). I think we get 5 or 6 with or current package. Which is OK because once we produce a report and the project is complete, we can delete and save the PDF archives. Pros As a writer, one of my favorite things about SEMrush is the semantically-related keyword suggestions, info on what other ranking pages are featuring, word count suggestions, and additional element suggestions (YouTube embeds, etc.). This helps me create deeper-dive content than ever, and we've boosted our rankings as a result. Cons The free version only lets you track a few keywords :). I use the free version for my personal stuff. However, I get to use the premium version with a client who's an SEO Jedi, and the opportunities it affords us both are literally boundless as we use it to work through updating and improving thousands of evergreen blog posts, and as we use it to help us create new posts too.
