The speed of the scans is a huge plus, you can set a scan going and within minutes it is complete. I would like to see more consistent results within the position tracker, I am a little bit skepticle over the results it produces I have to say. Pros We use the tool mostly to help with our SEO clients. I personally like the on-page grader tool. I think it's a great way to compare your page with the top 10 ranking pages for a specific keyword. I think the tool is fast and I like how you can receive almost instant advice. Some other tools can take much longer to scan a site. The site audit in particular can deliver quick responses. Cons I am uncertain on the position tracking. We use a few different SEO tools alongside and the results we get back from SEM Rush seem to be different to the other tools. Review Source JM John M. Pros The wealth and depth of features is truly astounding. Cons With so many reports and features the navigation can be a little confusing. Definitely have room for improvement. Pros Good tool for tracking website visibility online and generate some basic reports on health of website. It also monitors ranking well which is a great part of the tool. Cons Customer service is poor. They’re not very knowledgeable on their product or on SEO basics so they can speak intelligently with customers. Also, viewing website trends and more technical aspects are difficult or non existent. Pros The keyword overview and manager tools are where I spend most of my time, all providing super helpful insights. The keyword gap tool is essential for us to know where we stand against competitors in our market. The learning resources available are also a great aspect to this tool. Cons The price and ability to have multiple users on at once time at a more affordable rate is a downside. I like the competitive and paid search features. This has helped significantly with website audits. Cons I wish the pricing structure was easier to understand and more upfront. I don’t like that I have to pay extra for additional projects. I work for myself and have 9 clients, so the price started to balloon pretty quickly once I added them all. I also wish there was a local search feature. Many of my clients are local to a city or region. There are many tools, this one hits most of the major needs a marketing org will need. Pros This was a snap to set up. The reports in general are well-organized, easy to understand, navigable, and comprehensive enough for executive overviews and top line metrics. The Market Explorer is great if you are monitoring a category, and there is a new 'Audience Interests' beta under the Demographics tab, which has a few interesting nuggets. Looking forward to expansion on that feature. Cons We have multiple brands within our organization, so the limited projects wasn't a plus for us. Reason for choosing Semrush We ended up with both. We were able to clearly see what needed to change in our SEO. We also got to see what our competitors have been doing to outrank us. SEMrush allowed us to easily understand what keywords are best for our field. Pros helps our company rank higher in google searches so that we appear more often to potential and existing customers. SEMrush offers a great way to see and test our SEO with the ever-changing Google search algorithm. Cons You need to understand SEO and how it works to really understand and utilize correctly. Buying this product without having that knowledge will put you at quite a disadvantage. Their courses available for users are exciting and I also appreciate their new SEO certification programs. Cons Plain and simple - it's confusing to use and it's difficult to make an easy to follow plan to improve your SEO. All of the information is there, but it doesn't do a great job of helping you make an actionable plan that you can recreate each week. This is definitely possible - but compared to some of the competitors (although much more expensive) it's suffering from a guided actionable experience and content performance plans and trackability.
