Lead web designer Information Technology and Services Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Great, intuitive, easy to use" February 17, 2021 5.0 I am learning SEO as I use the product, and it is very informative and helpful as I go along. would definitely recommend Pros I have been using SEM Rush for about a month now, and I think the software is very intuitive and easy to use. I have not used it to it's full capacity quite yet, but am starting with doing the site audits and moving forward. I like the on-page audit instructions specifically and am seeing pretty quick results in keyword rankings as I go. Cons I know there is alot of training videos, I wish they were displayed as suggestions as I navigate the software. For example, when I'm on the site audit page, if there was a link to a training video taking me through the features of the site audit page I think that would be really helpful. Because the functionality and capability is so vast for this software, I get lost in the training area searching for the functionality I'm looking for more information on. Review Source SM Scott M. Pros The keyword magic tool is the best by far for our goals, phrase match helps a ton as we do alot of You Tube marketing and it helps find the phrases and in turn the channels to place our ads for the best value response. Cons Reporting can be a bit messy when downloading but it gives me the answer I need as quickly as a I need it so a minor issue. December 16, 2015 5.0 SEMRush is my go-to tool for keyword research, Paid positioning research, and individual keyword campaign management. I use their API for reporting in Google Sheets, I use their backlinks tool, and it always works exactly the way it's supposed to. Pros The site audit and project management tools make reporting a piece of cake. If you use Adwords, or in any way want to understand your competition when trying to rank for specific keywords, this tool is a must-have. Cons The backlink tool could be a bit more robust, but as it is fairly new, I would guess that it will be improved in the near-future. Review Source SR Stevan R. Pros It's detailed and you can find everything you need if you know how to use it. Its insights on competitors are some of the best you could find. Cons It's not intuitive. I needed training and time to learn how to use it. I realize it's a tool for professionals and it's not meant for everybody, but eventually, new professionals will need to use it, and it could be helpful to have some simpler features or at least better explanations of them. Whoever came up with that idea, my hats-off to the genius at SEMRush ....really sincerely because nobody at SEMRush thought that was the thing most users are waiting for. I like the webinar series, especially this very recent webinar series that has come up showing how to use each tool. Pros You can track what people really are looking for, and decide what sort of content you need to post. This was always the greatest difficult part about doing content marketing. Now you can see what people need, and give them the best what you can, and do what you love while making money. Cons Too many features make the User Interface more cluttered. That does not mean it must not have those features; just organizing and prioritizing so that the whole interface is intuitively real as a playful play is what is required. Make it child's play which it isn't. Even the free account has enough features to get you up and running with what you need. Cons The limited number of reports on the free account is frustrating at times, but I have always been able to convince the companies that I've worked at to invest in the paid account. Been doing SEO since 2000 and SEMRush is now my #1 tool I use every day. Good all-around tool that has the basics covered (rankings, backlinks, keyword research, audit, etc.) I also use specialized tools to get better data that SEMRush provides, so it's not perfect. Moz and Ahrefs are the two main competitors. I prefer SEMRush to Moz for most things (faster/better updating of links, rankings). I'm still demoing Ahrefs so can't provide a comparison there. Pros Does everything pretty well. Excellent at estimating competitor organic traffic and rankings. Cons Backlink reporting is still all over the map, with old links showing up as new, etc. Review Source WA Wasim A.
